Welcome to my world - Clairvaux, in the heart of the country. Twenty-one years after our purchase of a bare paddock and sublime views, we thank God that all things work together unto good to them that love Him.

the front door, late autumn

looking east, down the Tuki Tuki River - stone pines, olives, lavender

'front of house', parterre - winter

Want to go walk on that lawn in bare feet ...

Looking east over the parterre to the Ruataniwha Plain and Kawekas - soldier poppies grown from seed collected by my old friend Arthur Aldridge RIP, on Cyprus during WWII

  1. Fr John Paul OSCO died last week . He was living in Auckland and had left Kopua in good grace 30 years ago. He was a neighbor of mine.

  4. Cardinal Burke may need to move in! The Pope has stripped him of his apartment in Rome as well as his stipend.

    1. He'd be welcomed with open arms - but the latest report is simply 'a senior Vatican official' confirming the rumours. As of this morning, Cardinal Burke had not been advised, said his secretary.
