Bergoglio and Biden - shaking hands on it

'"The Eucharist is not the reward of saints, but the Bread of sinners. This is why He [Christ] exhorts us: ‘Do not be afraid! Take and eat."'

With these words Jorge Bergoglio, pretender to the papacy, seems to have abandoned belief in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ Our Saviour, His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

There's no other way to explain the Vatican's warning to US Bishops that they must not deny Holy Communion to politicians who promote the sin of abortion. Like US President Joe Biden.

'Bread of sinners'? Really??? Since when? Unless Bergoglio means venial sinners - but Biden, having surpassed Obama as the most pro-abortion president in US history, can hardly be called a venial sinner. Unless his mental degenerative disease is worse than it looks.

Dr Jill has hubby firmly in hand

As for 'do not be afraid', what Catholic in their right mind wouldn't fear offending God by receiving Him in a state of mortal sin?

The Church must be “a community with open arms, welcoming towards all,” Pope Francis exhorted during his June 6, Corpus Christi homily in a possible allusion towards the USCCB’s proposed denial of Holy Communion to anti-life politicians. “The Eucharist wants to nourish those who are tired and hungry along the way, let's not forget that!”

Yes, Your 'Holiness', Our Lord in the Eucharist longs to nourish the tired and hungry. You're stating the obvious. But He cannot nourish anyone in a state of serious sin, those who have fallen from grace, public sinners like Joe Biden. If Biden wants to receive Holy Communion, he must first receive the Sacrament of Penance, like anyone else who's committed mortal sin.

“For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.” (1 Cor 11:29).

"If anyone says that faith alone is sufficient preparation for receiving the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist: let him be anathema. And that so great a Sacrament may not be unworthily received, and therefore unto death and condemnation, this holy Council ordains and declares that sacramental confession must necessarily be made beforehand by those whose conscience is burdened by mortal sin, however contrite they may consider themselves.
If anyone moreover teaches the contrary or preaches or obstinately asserts, or even publicly by disputation shall presume to defend the contrary, by that fact itself he is excommunicated. (Council of Trent, Session XIII, Canon 11; Denz. 893)."

"If anyone moreover teaches the contrary" : it would seem that bishops and priests who implicitly teach the contrary as they do in New Zealand, by giving Holy Eucharist to all-comers, to Massgoers who are in a state of serious sin and yet have not made sacramental confession, are therefore excommunicated.

The Church, says Francis, must be “a great hall” and not “a small and closed circle” in order to welcome him “who is hurt, who has made a mistake,” and also those whom Pope Francis mysteriously described as having “a different life path.” ... “The Church with open doors, which celebrates around Christ, is instead a large room where everyone – everyone, righteous and sinful – can enter.”

Not so mysterious, is it, that "different life path" to which Bergoglio so coyly refers? That 'life path' is striped in all the colours of the rainbow, like the pedestrian crossing in Cuba Street, Wellington.

Bergoglio referred to the night of the Last Supper, when Christ gave Himself in the Eucharist for the first time, even to Judas Iscariot, who would betray Him. “And what does Jesus do? He reacts to the evil with a greater good,” he said.

“He responds to Judas’ ‘no’ with the ‘yes’ of mercy,” Francis noted, adding that, instead of punishing Judas, Jesus “rather gives His life for him; He pays for him.”

That the 'pope', can talk such nonsense is beyond belief. Judas at that point had not yet sinned. He hadn't yet said 'no' - if by that Bergoglio means the sin of pride (non serviam). How could Our Lord 'punish' a man who had not yet sinned? Our Lord persevered to the very end with Judas, in the hope of saving his soul.

Remember that Bergoglio has a soft spot for the Iscariot. A very suggestive painting in the papal study depicts a naked Jesus bending over Judas' body.

"Where did Judas end up?" The 'Pope' says he doesn't know

“For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.” (1 Cor 11:29)If anyone says that faith alone is sufficient preparation for receiving the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist: let him be anathema. 893)

The 67 US bishops who want to give Communion to Biden and his ilk look to be a proper rogues' gallery. Their ringleaders are Chicago's Blaise Cupich -

Cardinal Wilton Gregory

Cardinal Blase Cupich - don't they both look like they're playing dress-ups?

- and Washington's Wilton Gregory, both a disgrace to the cardinalate and of course,  proteges of Bergoglio.

According to a 2004 memo issued to the U.S. bishops by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF),  now Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, a Catholic politician who is “consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws” manifests “formal cooperation” with grave sin and must be “denied” the Eucharist.

But hello:

The current prefect of the CDF, Cardinal Luis F. Ladaria S.J., penned a letter on May 7 to Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, the president of the USCCB, warning against any decision to limit the distribution of Communion to such people, describing such a policy as “a source of discord.”

Wasn't Jesus Christ Himself a "source of discord"? Didn't He warn us that we would be persecuted and dragged before synagogues and flogged on His account?

Instead, Ladaria suggested that the conference engage in “extensive and serene dialogue.”

Oh, isn't that nice. Ladaria reminds me of Cardinal John Dew and the NZ Bishops, only with a more superior vocabulary.

Ladaria referred to pro-abortion politicians and the related legislation as “pro-choice,” acquiescing to the euphemistic language of the political Left. He also lamented the possibility that enacting a policy against pro-choice politicians receiving Holy Communion might target “only one category of Catholics.” https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pope-francis-calls-eucharist-bread-of-sinners-as-usccb-considers-denying-pro-abort-politicians-communion?utm_source=
Cardinal Ladaria said the C.D.F. advises the USCCB that any statement of the conference regarding Catholic political leaders would best be framed within the broad context of worthiness for the reception of Holy Communion on the part of all the faithful, rather than only one category of Catholics, reflecting their obligation to conform their lives to the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ as they prepare to receive the sacrament.

This is so like the NZCBC.. Avoid the A-word at all costs! Don't upset people! Be Nice!!!

+Ladaria's letter also watered down Catholic teaching that abortion and the mass killing of unborn babies is the most important political issue for Catholics:
See what I mean? How can faithful Catholics accept such perverted doctrine? How retain peace of mind? Only by intensive, daily prayer for the Church, for Pope Benedict XVI, for all priests, including and especially Jorge Bergoglio, for their repentance, healing and conversion; and prayer of reparation to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, so insulted, so ignored, so "despised and rejected", especially in His tabernacles throughout the world.

Such denial of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament - by the prelate who pretends to be pope, 'Pope Francis' himself, and his cardinals, points to the approach of one of the most significant signs of the end times: the so-called abomination of desolation. Jesus himself says this in Matthew 24:15. He says that Prophet Daniel predicted the abomination of desolation and he adds, "He that readeth, let him understand."

Other Bible evidence shows that the abomination or evil sacrilegious thing is the abolition, the doing away with, of the daily, holy sacrifice on the Temple altar, and the substitution of a false-god statue with some false sacrifice or worship, on the holy altar.

This would be a most grave mortal sin against the First Commandment, which says, "I am the Lord, thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before me." In I Machabees, we read that the cruel pagan King Antiochus invaded Jerusalem, entered the holy Temple, stole or destroyed all the holy vessels for worship, and forbade the Jews to offer their usual sacrifices, holocausts and atonements.

"Desolation" means being desolate, being abandoned by good people, and worse, being abandoned by God and by His grace. In the time of the Machabees, the Jewish people were tiring of their old religion; they were dabbling in paganism, and being attracted or deceived or forced into real apostasy, that is, the rejection of their religious Judaic Faith. They became idolaters, that is, worshippers of idols or false gods.

It's happening all over again. Evil men have invaded the Church, introduced gods into St Peter's Basilica, destroyed so much of what was most beautiful in our worship, in our architecture, in our liturgy, and now are attempting to forbid the Immemorial Mass, the usus antiquior, the Traditional Latin Mass.

With their smooth words they woo the world, reject their Catholic faith, reject Christ.

"Our task is not to produce persuasive propaganda; Christianity shows its greatness when it is hated by the world."

To quote Pope? Francis. "The Eucharist is not the reward of saints, but the Bread of sinners".

I shared this with a priest, who said we are all sinners.

My question to this blog - are we all sinners when we receive the Eucharist, even if we have recently been to confession? Are we meant to strive to be saints?

The priest did say that what Pope Francis has said is ambiguous.

My view - the Pope has been deliberately ambiguous to give Biden access to the Eucharist and justify Biden's stand on moral issues, principally abortion. It is the duty of the Pope to be very precise and clear on these issues. So let's hear it Holy Father, with no ambiguity please?

  2. Correct. And Biden is more than just a sinner. He is a willing accomplice to abortion like Ted Kennedy. These are not lapsed Catholics but law makers who line up for communion without humility or reflection. Why bother fighting for the unborn when these two receive communion? That is the whole point. The church establishment and state don't want anyone protesting about abortion. Abortion is a lawful action in their eyes and Bergoglio wants us fitting into the new order where the church will be just another arm of the state existing to give the dumbies who never entered law school a reminder not to steal or punch the boss.

  3. Bob Gill:
My initial reaction to the Vatican warning was that it would likely be ignored by the US bishops and that Biden would surely be penalised for his stand on abortion. Now I’m not so sure.
A problem for Biden is that he is committed as president to uphold the laws of the land, which includes a law permitting pro-choice. Even if Biden publicly proclaims he is pro-life, he must still uphold the country’s laws. The Vatican knows this as it’s been down that road with other countries over many years.
The Vatican knows there is division among the US bishops on this matter and is aware of how their actions would affect other bishops around the world. The Church wouldn’t want division throughout the world with various bishops saying opposite things about important issues. Catholics would be confused.
This is why the Vatican prefers ambiguity. It does not want to say pro-choice politicians should be denied Communion; nor does it want to say it is okay for pro-choice politicians to be allowed Communion.

  4. Paul Young:
Julia ... you constantly seem so disenchanted with your religion ... maybe you should ditch it and start another one ...

    I say:
Paul, I couldn't be more enchanted with my religion, with the one true religion. I'm totally disenchanted with the men running it, but their days are numbered.

    Paul Young:
Julia ... such a chuckle ... everyone believes that their religion is the 'one true religion' ... irony of ironies ...

    Theresa Rogers;
Paul, Catholicism IS the only true religion other than Jewish.
Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

  5. Bob.. Biden has to uphold the law on abortion. He can not change it alone. The point is he and Kennedy actually vote in favor of Liberal abortion and then receive communion. Kennedy used to come out with the rubbish statement 'I oppose abortion but can't impose my conscience on other people.' It is a bogus Jesuit argument invented in the 1960s to excuse the Catholic Democrats in America.

  6. Catholics are more Jewish than the Jews
We still offer a sacrifice. The Jews do not. We are the flower on the Jewish stem. Just a thought.
