St Padre Pio on the BVM's messages at Garabandal

It's not yet on the radar for English-speaking media, but Pope Francis (so-called) will go to Moscow in the northern spring.  Sputnik News Service announced the visit today.

And that event was prophesied in the 1960s at Garabandal, Spain, in the 1960s: when the pope returns to Rome from Moscow, hostilities will break out in Europe. Today we learn that Germany and the United States are to send armoured tanks to Ukraine, escalating the conflict there. As if that ticking clock isn't already pointing close enough to the midnight of nuclear war.

The Blessed Virgin Mary told the four visionaries - young girls in a very remote, mountainous village - that a day would come when time and events, internationally, would stand still and that every living human being would find themselves alone before God, and see the state of their soul - which for no one would be a pretty sight.  "It will be a terrible thing. It will make us feel all the wrong we have done", said Marie-Loli, one of the visionaries, in 1975.

It's called 'The Warning' or 'The Illumination of Conscience' and to prepare for it mystics tell us to frequent the Sacrament of Confession. Yes, that's right, we need to get ourselves along to those quaint little cupboard-like rooms in every Catholic church worldwide, some of which in New Zealand at least are now used for vacuum cleaners, brooms, and stuff Father doesn't know what to do with, and confess our sins to a priest who might not remember where he's put his stole. Otherwise, we're told, the sight of our soul may kill us instantly.

And another clue given to one of the Garabandal seers as to the nearness of these events was "a synod". A 12 year-old girl in this remote village said "a synod" - "a little council" would herald the Warning. The current, apostate synod, of three years' duration (seems like forever already and 'Pope Francis' might well spin it out for longer) would seem to fit the bill.

Padre Pio believed in the phenomena of Garabandal and corresponded by letter with the seers and personally met with one of them, Conchita González, in his convent of San Giovanni Rotondo. What was coming is a possible chastisement.
