NZ, US, CUBA, FRANCE, ROME: COGNITIVE DISSONANCE RAMPANT

There's so much cognitive dissonance going on.

'Cultural dissonance' is a 1950s' name for a very old condition - as old as Adam. Britannica calls it "the mental conflict that occurs when beliefs or assumptions are contradicted by new information." 

There's a cure for it:

"Adapt yourselves no longer to the pattern of this present world, but let your minds be remade and your whole nature thus transformed. Then you will be able to discern the will of God, and to know what is good, acceptable and perfect" - Rom 12:2.

Britannica goes on: 

"People may reject the new information; persuade themselves that no conflict exists; reconcile the differences; or resort to any other defensive means of preserving stability or order in their conceptions of the world and of themselves."

A few samples of cognitive dissonance (they abound): 

In the US:

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci said federal health officials are considering recommending that fully vaccinated people wear masks in public again.

“This is under active consideration,” Fauci told CNN. Fauci, who's Biden’s chief medical adviser, added, “If we don’t vaccinate people, the model is going to predict that we’re going to be in trouble as we continue to get more and more cases.”

Burble burble. It's a poor look-out for Biden.  

In Cuba:

In 1958, the Cuban income per capita was double that of Spain and Japan. Cuba had more doctors and dentists per capita than Britain. Cuba was second per capita in Latin America in ownership of automobiles and telephones, and first in the number of television sets per inhabitant. 

(Under Communist Fidel Castro) the Cuban economy was rapidly destroyed. Wages in Cuba are abysmal; the population is effectively destitute. The average monthly salary in 2015 was $18.66.

Persecution, imprisonment and torture of anyone who dares to criticize the regime are routine. Hundreds of thousands of Cubans have passed through Cuba's reeducation camps since 1959. More than 15,000 Cubans have been executed by firing squad.

At the end of his life, Fidel Castro's fortune was valued at $900 million" - Gatestone Institute.

But in 2020 New Zealand elected a would-be Communist, Jacinda 'Stalinda' Ardern by a massive majority, granting her power to do with New Zealanders whatever enters her pretty little head. She's turning this country into Venezuela at the rate of knots.

In Nigeria:

3,462 Christians killed, 3,000 abducted, 300 churches attacked so far this year. “It is deeply saddening that till date those responsible for the anti Christian butcheries in the country have continued to evade justice and remained unchecked, untracked, uninvestigated and untried; leading to impunity and repeat-atrocities,” said International Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety). The Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Police Force, and Nigeria’s other armed forces killed 490 Christians - the Gwiller Report.

And what is the Catholic Church doing to protect these persecuted Christians? Jorge Mario Bergoglio donated his custom-made Lamborghini to Nigeria.

Sky News host Alan Jones says US President Joe Biden “has to be taken out of circulation” after a CNN Town Hall filled with blunders, including an “incoherent rambling about men on the moon and aliens.”

Mr Jones said President Biden remained “unchallenged in his rambling” because “CNN are mouthpieces for Biden”.

"This bloke has to be taken out of circulation,” Mr Jones said. “This bloke, Joe Biden, belongs in a home and that home is not the White House."

And there's 'desperation', according to the NY Times, at the Mexican border with thousands of children stuffed into detention centres; Donald Trump's defence of the unborn has been undone; and the US accepts 'this bloke Joe Biden' as their leader, happy that the BLM riots and burnings that plagued Donald Trump's presidency have stopped, because the Marxist BLM got their man in.

Desperation at the border - remember the liberals' despair over Trump's wall? 

Ardern, Little& Co, Death Dealers to the Nation, have now authorised 'rolling out' jabs in schools starting in Whanganui this week in preparation for a broader imminent rollout to 12 to 15-year-olds.

Medsafe's UK counterpart, the JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) has admitted that "the health benefits of universal vaccination in children and young people below the age of 18 years do not outweigh the potential risks [of the vaccination]."

 But ahem, back in NZ Medsafe assures us that:

"The benefits of vaccination with Comirnaty continue to outweigh the risk of experiencing a side effect for people of all ages in the approved indication."

 You read that right: the UK recommends AGAINST Covid jabs for kids but back in New Zealand - it's all “she'll be right, mate” - Voices for Freedom.

As Manuel of cherished memory at Fawlty Towers would say, "Ees crazy!". 

Cognitive dissonance.

And then there's the vexed question of the Traditional Latin Mass, threatened by Bergoglio with extinction. A well known ex-Catholic apostate thinks that cancellation of the Mass celebrated by the Church right up until the Second Vatican Council is "bizarre". 

Let's take a peep into an orthodox Catholic Church, St Rita's in Arlington, Virginia:

Cognitive dissonance rampant.

Our well-known apostate ex-Catholic will have forgotten St Paul's exhortation to the Romans. It must be his foundation in the Traditional Latin Mass (his departure from the Church more or less coincided with the arrival of the Novus Ordo) that gave him the insight to say cancellation or even curbing the TLM is "bizarre".

It's only true, silent worship of God that humbles us, and it's the humble "little ones" who eschew Radio NZ and TvOne and the MSM in general - because they are "the pattern of this present world" - who can "discern the will of God and know what is good, acceptable and perfect." 

Humility now being rarer than hen's teeth, it's small wonder cognitive dissonance is rampant. 

 

"I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to the little ones" (Mt 11:25).
