2 THIRDS OF NZ MPS SAY BABIES MAY BE LEFT TO DIE

Shame is the name New Zealand wears this day, after last night refusing any legal right to medical care of our nation's smallest citizens; of babies born alive, in terrible pain, after botched abortions.

Two-thirds of our Members of Parliament voted down an amendment requiring care for babies like this one. This baby could now be legally left to die. Where? On the floor? In a bucket? Who cares? Of our Members of Parliament, less than one third.

80 MPs voted against the potentially life-saving amendment and three didn't bother to vote at all. So in future, doctors and nurses and assorted 'health professionals' will be fully entitled to ignore babies who survive attempted abortions, and simply leave them to die.

And what other victories did the death-dealing MPs score, last night? I'll tell you.

  • Babies aborted after 20 weeks will not necessarily be given painkillers. Vets must give painkillers to animals, but doctors don't have to give painkillers to babies.
  • You won't need a doctor, midwife or obstetric nurse to kill your baby. Any 'health professional' will do. Like, say, a chiropodist.
  • Babies can be killed after 20 weeks for any old reason.
  • Conscientious objection to killing babies may get you sacked, or not hired.
  • Maori babies can be killed with no regard to cultural considerations consistent with the Treaty of Waitangi.

The one ray of sunshine on our darkened land last night was the defeat of the impudent "safe areas" proposal. People seeking to help women threatened with the death of their unborn child, or simply to warn them of the concomitant dangers, can still stand praying on public streets outside abortion facilities without danger of arrest and imprisonment.

In fact, our baby-killers proved themselves incapable not just of right moral judgment but of practical know-how too, by stuffing up their voting to such a degree that it's no longer possible to enforce 'safe areas'.

A victory, thank God and thank (ironically) leading babykiller David Seymour, who believes old people can be bumped off too - but who also believes in free speech. So he can say what he wants in pursuit of his evil agenda for dispatching unwanted babies to landfills and the unwanted elderly to funeral parlours.

The fury of our lady lawmakers on the News tonight, frustrated in their attempt to shut down our prayer and silent protest, was palpable. They'll be back to fight another day.

But the warriors of Christ can defeat them once more, by prayer.

"This kind (of devil) is not cast out but by prayer and fasting" (Mt  17, 20).

So when are men and women of goodwill going to get their acts together and actually vote 'Pro-life'. And to vote in such a way that N.Z. gets sound Government as well. Some Parties don't seem to have the remotest idea of how low-income to middle-class are affected by fine-tuned macro-economic policies - concerns about daily e economic welfare are always at the back of our minds.
A successful pro-life vote this year, what would that be ?
Maybe a movement is needed, something like 'Solidarity' (as in America) In other words , back to square 1 ?
Really, Christians, (and others concerned about these issues ) don't seem to have the remotest idea of how to go about achieving an even 'passable' result.
    There !

  2. I say:
A true pro-life vote this year would be one for the New Conservative Party. All their policies are, so far as I have read, Christian; and I have signed up on the strength of their pro-life policy, which is all that it should be.

This is a post for another day: soon.

Gina Sutherland, yes agreed. God is not mocked whatever a man sows that he will also reap. He is a God of love, mercy AND justice.

Hillary Kieft says: ok so if voting them out who then replaces them more of the same.their needs to be a challenge to the church
start standing in those seats and challenge those MPS
    Time for government church.

    Julia du Fresne says:

A return to Church united with State as it was, pre-'Reformation' (Deformation, more like) would be ideal but it seems challenging even the Catholic Church in NZ with the current hierarchy is fruitless.
New Conservatives are a Christian party with a truly pro-life policy. Vote New Conservatives!

    Hillary Kieft says:

how come everyone wants to believe that NC are a Christian party
when clearly they them self's confess to not being a Christian
Have we become so luke warm to our faith that we say ok God i will promote your values but you yourself jesus can stay out side
    what a flipping joke
and to say that nc truly prolife my ass
    read their policy
    lm over the luke warm
new conservatives policy aligns with pro abortion

    Julia du Fresne says:

Sounds like I should take another look at NCs' pro-life policy.

  4. I did take another look and I read, “New Conservative is committed to ensuring that any abortion practiced under The Contraception, Sterilisation and Abortion Act 1977 is actually practiced in accordance with that law, “having full regard for the rights of the unborn child.” The rights of the unborn child need to be defined in law.”
The right of the unborn child is, first and foremost, to its life. I would hope NC MPs would seek to define that in law.
“Protections will remain in place for doctors who cause the death of an unborn child while acting in good faith for the preservation of the life of the mother.”
That’s a loophole big enough to drive a truckload of Dame Margaret Sparrows through. I remember Prof Sir William Liley, ‘father of fetology’ saying there is no medical condition which would indicate the death of a baby to save the life of its mother.
So thank you Hillary, l’m reconsidering. But NC is still far better than any alternative.
