The offending ad asked the question that our embarrassed and embarrassing Prime Minister Hipkins could not answer: "What is a Woman?" If we ever needed confirmation that the MSM is a bunch of leftards, this is it. The question that's sitting up and begging is, who or what wealthy entity is compensating these rags - desperate as they are, for ads - for their loss of revenue? Or are they happy, like Budweiser, to "go woke, go broke"?
Kiwis need to respond to such blatant censorship by cancelling their subs to the offending newspapers. Prove we're not to be manipulated. No wonder the polls say that amid the trainwreck New Zealand is, with Labour/Greens in the driver's seat, there are only two points between them and National: the dailies are printing only what they're paid to print - by Labour, for Labour.
In a shocking display of media censorship, the major daily newspapers have all banded together to pull the publication of a full page advertisement at the 11th hour.

Daily Times pulled the advertisements after approving them.We believe that this was as a result of communications between the publications up to the CEO level. It should concern all of us that newspaper editors are now banding together to censor advertisements that they disagree with. Where does this place their coverage of the political debate leading up to the General Election? What else are they censoring?
And the fact that they are working together is disturbing. Has the government funding of these media outlets spelt the end of independent civil discourse on controversial social issues? It appears so.

ReplyDeleteAn advertisement is not ‘reporting’ or ‘journalism’. It’s space that someone is willing to pay for to spread their message. No editor is obliged to accept messages that go against their ethics.
