Pro-life "hero" Fr Frank Pavone and his persecutor |
Father Frank Pavone, the National Director of Priests for Life, has been "dismissed from the priesthood".
He's been "laicised" - by the man the world knows as Pope Francis.
Ahem. That impostor, "Pope Francis" can laicise all he likes but the priesthood has an indelible character. Once a priest, always a priest, "according to the Order of Melchisedek" (Heb. 7:17 ff). At ordination a man is changed for ever, ontologically. It's like baptism. Ordination can't be undone.
But this is preposterous. What do the 'Pope Francis' believers have to say to this? That "the heart has its reasons"? Nah. They've never read Pascal.
Fr Pavone himself had no idea that this had happened until a reporter called him for comment.
This, during a week in which Pope Francis is receiving criticism for his lenient behavior towards Slovenian priest-artist—and alleged sexual abuser—Fr. Marko Ivan Rupnik. This, in the midst of never-ending scandals–financial, moral, and theological–involving Vatican-based prelates like suspected embezzler Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu and the egregious president of the once great Pontifical Academy for Life, Cardinal Vincenzo Paglia. This, while clerical heretics attempt to destroy the Catholic faith in Germany from within. This, this is beyond belief.
A letter to all bishops in America, sent December 13 by the Pope’s representative in America – the Papal Nuncio Fr. Christophe Pierre – says that Fr. Pavone was laicized for “blasphemous communications on social media” and “persistent disobedience of the lawful instructions of his diocesan bishop.”
Faithful Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas makes this response:
“The blasphemy is that this holy priest is canceled while an evil president promotes the denial of truth & the murder of the unborn at every turn, Vatican officials promote immorality & denial of the deposit of faith & priests promote gender confusion devastating lives … evil,” he said on Twitter.

In a separate statement, the papal nuncio wrote that the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Clergy – the head of the Vatican’s department dealing with priests – said there was “no possibility of appeal” of the decision.
Given all the rhetoric we have heard during the first year of the so-called Synod on Synodality, it is clear that the “listening Church” is making a mockery of justice.
In response, LifeSite News has launched a petition in which you may say “NO” to Pope Francis on this unprecedented attack on the pro-life movement and the Catholic Church in the USA.https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/say-no-to-pope-francis-removing-pro-life-hero-fr-frank-pavone-from-priesthood/?utm_source=featured-news&utm_campaign=usa
Adoration of the Shepherds Jean Baptiste Marie Pierre |
Deus, qui splendorem gloriae tuae per sacrae Virginis partum mundo dignatus es revelare, tribue, quaesumus, ut tantae incarnationis mysterium et fidei integritate colamus, et devoto semper obsequio frequentemus.
I'm going to the top of the nearest hill to scream THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ARE SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK!!!!
ReplyDeleteFr Pavone is laicised by Pope Francis for daring to stick up for murdered unborn children. BUT Fr Rubnick, who raped nuns, is given a row of high profile cosy jobs in the Vatican. Cardinal McCarrick, who raped seminarians, (and everyone in the system knew for decades) was treated by the Church like a demi god till civil proceedings nailed him. Fr James Martin preaches sodomy all over the Church, the pope is always delighted to give him private audiences (as Martin loves to gloat on Twitter). I could go on like this for pages.
Can I shout loud enough? THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ARE SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK!!!!
These people may constitute the machinery of the Catholic Church but traditional Catholics who are faithful to Christ and His teaching constitute Her spirit.
DeleteIt’s a topsy-turvy Church world we are living in, that’s for sure.
ReplyDeleteIs it any better in the NZ Church? Last October I attended a Mass/combined service in Dannevirke where Holy Communion was offered to non-Catholics. I was advised after the service that the practice was indeed against Church law and that my experience was not an isolated incidence. Apparently there have been other incidences in the Palmerston North diocese under Bishop Charles Drennan which were never addressed.
I complained via email to Cardinal Dew with a copy to the Papal Nuncio and other dignitaries. As I received no response after some weeks, I contacted the Papal Nuncio to ask the procedure for contacting someone for assistance outside New Zealand. The Papal Nuncio immediately responded and advised me to again contact Cardinal Dew who he said would explain all to me.
Cardinal Dew’s response to me involved him saying he would get Father Craig Butler to discuss this with the parish priest in Dannevirke as a first step.
It struck me in Cardinal Dew’s response that there was no actual concern expressed about Communion being given to non-Catholics, and I mentioned that by saying: “I must say I am surprised that there is no acknowledgement of any wrongdoing from you. Your general lack of concern could suggest you may be complicit with this form of Eucharistic abuse as surely you would immediately come to His defence and act to ensure His protection.”
To date I have heard no more about the matter and note that we have another combined service in Dannevirke on 8 January 2023.
Dr. Bernard Nathanson, in his last interview, said Cardinal Cushing assured Catholic politicians of his day that, in essence, they can separate their faith from their political responsibility. This is what underlies the phenomenon of Catholic politicians supporting abortion.
ReplyDeleteFor this action against Fr Frank Pavone to have come from the Church itself, draws one's mind to the fact that political powers in America are extremely angry at the overturning of Roe v Wade. They seem to be acting in concert with the highest powers in the Church to attack Catholic leaders in the Pro-Life movement.
It is evident that the Pope and /or his Dicastery have declined to follow due process. (ref. interview with Fr Gerard Murray, statement by Fr Pavone) That legal principle, of following due process, applies in civil law and canon law. If not followed, as seems to be the case here, then the laicisation of Fr Pavone should be challenged as patently invalid. A challenge for the leading Archbishops of the USCCB !
The top three, recently elected, are said to be firmly Pro-Life. May they take the plunge and have great delight in pointing out to the Pope the limit of his authority. I hope they take the Pope to the brink on this.
The Pope's targeting of a faithful priest is tantamount to targeting an angel. Although the Pope doesn't appear to have signed this red letter, it does rely on his authority. Perhaps some Cardinals should require the Pope to activate his own resignation.
Clown world is becoming anything but funny.
ReplyDeleteHere is a lady being searched and arrested for standing & minding her own business and possibly praying silently in her own head "near" an abortion center in the UK. She was not talking to anyone or blocking or harassing anyone. (I heard the more complete story from Peter Sweden's substack) I have got to ask myself where is the head of the "Church of England" whilst his CHRISTIAN citizens are being harassed, abused and arrested for the crime of being Christian.
