LABOUR'S 3-YEAR 'NIGHT IN A BAD INN' - HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT

Election night worshippers at the Masonic-style altar of Ardern*

The landslide victory handed to Baby-Butcher Ardern on Saturday demands that reparation be made to God by NZ Catholics in prayer and fasting, especially in reparation for bishops and priests who failed to warn us, as Catholics, that any who voted for Labour "would be in proximate cooperation with evil and would commit a grave sin".

Ordinations to the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter

That's the warning this week from an anonymous priest of the FSSP (Fraternity of St Peter) to US Catholic voters, against voting for presidential candidate Joe Biden, whose position on abortion as a Democrat is essentially the same as Ardern's and  Labour's. And earlier this week, Bishop Thomas Paprocki, Chicago, had said voting for Biden would require "a proportionately grave reason that outweighs the killing of 860,000 babies per year".

That's exactly what NZ's Catholics should have heard against voting for Labour and Ardern - for the same reason, of opposing the evil of abortion - from our bishops and priests. We didn't hear it - and consequently, how many Catholics helped vote Labour into for example, incredibly, every single seat in the South Island? These 'Catholics' may say they voted 'tactically', not for Labour per se but to keep the Greens out of government; but who knows how many babies will be killed per year in New Zealand, now that we've vindicated Jacinda Ardern's judgment and death penalty, imposed by way of the most extreme abortion law in the world, on an untold, unpredictable number of our unborn children?

"Tens of thousands"? As a prediction of abortion fatalities that's far more credible than the prediction of COVID deaths made so convincingly by Ardern (thanks to her Masonic degree in comms) that we let her lock us all up, and lock all our churches up, for four weeks.

And what's the betting that borne on the crest of a 'second wave' we'll all be locked up again, and our Lord locked up again, for Christmas?

There's this much to be said for presidential hopeful, pro-abortion, 'Catholic' Biden: as presidential hopeful he hasn't offficially got any blood on his hands - yet. Whereas last year, Ardern and her Parliamentary cohorts (a minority of them in National) presided over the blood-letting of nearly 13,000 infants.

And in Election 2020, Kiwis like Americans had a very clear choice between right and wrong. I was aghast when someone known for strong pro-life views (funded by a strongly Catholic upbringing) commented to the effect that there was hope for Americans because "Trump won't be around for ever". The alternative to Trump in the shape of Biden would plunge the US into a darkness blacker than pitch.

Had NZ Catholics all voted according to Christ's and Church teaching, the pro-life party New Conservative, which polled highest of all parties outside Parliament, would now be in there as the lone party with a Christian voice.

“The stance on life is not a disagreement in perspective or approach between political parties. It is a moral absolute that admits no compromise, and is the issue that must rise to the top on election day", writes the anonymous FSSP priest.

"Abortion, which is the ugly daughter of a contraceptive and divorce-happy culture, must be eradicated, along with its own ugly daughters of pornography, prostitution, sex trafficking, and child exploitation.

"According to traditional Catholic teaching, “the Church is there to guide the administration and exercise of temporal power, to call out its abuse, but never to usurp it. While mindful of our Lord’s words to render to Caesar what is his, and to God what is God’s, the Church insists that, if there is a conflict between the two, the problem must be on the side of Caesar.

"To say that there are more pressing moral and social issues that plague our country is to completely miss the point; poisoning the river at its source poisons the lake into which it flows.

“There is a hierarchy of moral issues, and so a grave error on the fundamental right to life poisons how all life is regarded and demands correction."

And Fr. Michael J. Stinson, the FSSP’s superior for North America, has encouraged Catholics to “pray for and defend their Church like they would their own mother.”

“Mindful of the lengths that a mother will go to care for her children,” Stinson explained, “it is most natural then that children have a similar instinct towards their mothers. While children can never return in full all their mother has given them (nor would a loving mother ever expect that), they must do something, and so Catholics must pray for and defend their Church like they would their own mother.”

Moreover, “[w]hile our first obligation and line of defense is remaining in a state of grace and cultivating a practical devout life by prayer and the Sacraments, other obligations arise when we see the Church (and country) threatened by anti-God, anti-religious, anti-life, and lawless forces, even from those who profess to be loyal to the Church,” Stinson explained.

“In the month ahead, we must summon the graces of our Confirmations and remind ourselves and others that Catholics are bound to believe the entire deposit of Faith and the moral teachings which flow from it, and so to vote accordingly,” he added. “In so doing, we speak in a way that clearly defines us as children truly loyal to the Church, and we will be assured of God’s blessing in having the courage to contribute to the cause of His right hand.”

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, former papal nuncio to the US, adds his voice to the FSSP's:

“Silence on abortion is a terrible sign of the spiritual and moral deviance in that part of the Hierarchy which denies its very own mission because it has denied Christ.”

“I remind my brother Bishops that they were anointed with the Holy Chrism as athletes of the Faith, not as neutral spectators of the struggle between God and the Adversary.” You have the ‘grace of state’, he tells the bishops, “to be heard by your flock, who recognizes in you the voice of the Divine Shepherd (Jn 10:2-3). Do not be afraid to proclaim the Gospel of Christ, just as the Apostles and the Bishops who succeeded them did not fear martyrdom.”

“I pray that the few, courageous Pastors who raise their voices to defend the inviolable and non-negotiable principles which the Lord has established in natural law, may be joined by those who today hesitate out of fear, timidity, or a false sense of prudence,” he says.

“(J)ust as in abortion the mother kills her own child, whom she should love, protect, and bring forth into this earthly life, so in the present fraud, the Church, willed by God to bring forth souls to eternal life, is found killing them herself spiritually in her own womb, because of the betrayal of her own Ministers.”

The archbishop concludes by asking the faithful, who he says are “disoriented by the silence of so many fainthearted shepherds, to raise their prayers to Heaven, invoking from the Paraclete those graces which only the Holy Spirit can instill in the most hardened and rebellious heart.”

“Offer your sacrifices, your penances, and your sufferings in sickness for the Church and for your Pastors,” he added.

Which is my reason for suggesting we in New Zealand must pray and make reparation for our bishops and priests. A reader of this blog has reacted with something like indignation to my remarks about Election 2020 ushering in a chastisement, a purification, in the shape of three years' hard Labour:

"I don't need purification," he said. So if he died today, he'd go straight to heaven? I don't think so - any more than I would. But as a Novus Ordo Catholic, he doesn't have the daily reminders of God's chastisement offered in the readings of the Immemorial (Latin) Mass which are so necessary but not especially enjoyable - which is why, I suspect, that Vat2 all but eliminated them.

St Teresa of Jesus (Avila) once likened life on earth to "a night in a bad inn". We're in for a long night, people. So as the great saint advises:

“Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul.”

HARD LABOUR: A PURIFICATION FOR THE NATION

To comment please open your gmail account or use Facebook, Messenger or Twitter. Scroll down for other comments.

Bow down, you 'useful idiots' who voted for Jacinda Ardern, bow down  before your new Godde. It's a while since you had a God and you noticed things were going wrong and subconsciously you missed Him.  So you've chosen Ardern to replace Him.

Look at this image of our Glorious Leader at her Election 2020 rally at the Auckland Town Hall on Saturday night. Frankly, it gives me the creeps. It hints of the occult or, with the placement of lighting booms, Masonic ceremonials and as we know, it was the Freemasons who paid for the degree in communications which taught Ardern how to tell lies so persuasively. There are echoes also of Robespierre's Cult of the Supreme Being and the French revolutionaries who were the prototypes for the neo-Marxists of the NZ Labour Party.

I was in bed asleep at the time but a reader of this column notes, and the pic bears it out, that the whole election night production was choreographed to present a new Messiah - and with the whole world swooning at her feet, who knows if Ardern might not ascend to the throne of the New World Order? Pope Francis might have to step aside.

New Zealand had it coming. This chastisement of three years' hard Labour was presaged on March 24 2020, the Vigil of the Annunciation, when Parliament's legislation enabling massacre of our unborn innocents came into force.

Yesterday, when you'd think Catholics - specially Catholics in the farming sector, of whom there were several in the congregation - would be recoiling in horror at the prospect of three more years of neo-Marxist ms-government, Father treated us to a sermon straight off the back of Tutti Frutti (oops, pardon me, I should say Fratelli Tutti).

https://catholiccitizens.org/issues/indifferentism/93023/in-new-encyclical-pope-francis-seems-to-promote-religious-indifferentism/

In his latest encyclical (I've lost count how many) the pope, in stating that "different religions ... witness to God", espouses the heresy of indifferentism. One can understand a parish priest approvingly quoting his pontiff, but then Father went on to quote "the Prime Minister last night", who complained of "so much antagonism" around the world.

Pardon me? Behold how effective a Masonic degree in comms can be. It pulls the wool over our eyes. Father doesn't notice the disconnect between Ardern complaining about antagonism and Ardern's antagonism towards the most vulnerable in our society, the unborn - and probably most in the congregation didn't either.

Ardern dispenses with reason, truth and logic and people don't notice. Or they don't care. Call them 'smiling zombies' or 'useful idiots' - it amounts to the same thing. Remember the nursery rhyme?

"Don’t care was made to care,

Don’t care was hung:

Don’t care was put in a pot

And boiled till he was done."

God will not be mocked. Yes, God is Mercy - the truth used to browbeat Catholics quite mercilessly for years now, in the Novus Ordo Church - but He is equally infinite Justice. I knew, that day in March, that New Zealand was in for it but hoped and prayed the coming chastisement might come in any other way, shape or form other than a Labour victory - and it may be a case of not only, but also. Who knows what more is in store?

It's not only abortion crying out to God for vengeance, it's the clarion call for killing the elderly and disabled and easy access to mind-altering drugs, it's same-sex 'marriage' with a poor old man described on telly as a 'widow', it's women selling themselves for  sex, it's LGBTQ+ (in schools, watch out!), gender-bendering, the insidious corruption of childhood by parents parading their little girls as sex objects in 'beauty contests' or a drag musical for kids ...

Charli Bickerton, 11, gets her own drag makeover behind the scenes of The Glitter Garden
- and New Conservative's Elliot Ikilei gets clobbered by the msm for mentioning it

... it's the Kiwi obsession with food and wine, attested to by the 'uge (I use the epithet advisedly) proportion of overweight people (Judith Collins didn't get it all wrong) in the population which will overwhelm the hospital system and so expedite 'mercy killing' - I could go on.

New Zealand has made its bed and will now lie on it, for at least another three years - or four as Labour and the other parties, having reached a rough consensus on a four-year term, would have it.

New Zealand was once called Godzone, and it was. You might say we were spoiled rotten by God, and when spoiled children grow up, what do they do? They reject their parents or at the very least, neglect them. As Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said in the '80s, "men have forgotten God".

New Zealand has rejected God's reward of Heaven; has forgotten His punishment of Purgatory and Hell, and for this Catholics should hold their priests, bishops and cardinal responsible; the priests, bishops and the cardinal who locked up our churches and deprived us of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and Communion when our need for the Sacraments had never been greater, when they should have declared that the Catholic Church by divine right stands above the dictates of an atheistic government.

You may say that the idea of a chastisement is so - well, old fashioned. So Old Testament. But God never changes and just as He willed that His Son would never compromise, but suffer throughout His 33 years on earth all the way to Calvary and so win us eternal life, God wills that we like His Son be made perfect by suffering. In no other way can we become an alter Christus, another Christ.

So we abandon ourselves to the divine Will, and give God thanks for allowing us to suffer and so grow in perfection in this life. Rather that than in Purgatory!

The readings for yesterday's Mass in the 1962 liturgical calendar, as read and preached so well at the Latin Mass at little St Columba's, Ashhurst were, as is so often the case, perfectly attuned to the 'brave new world' we woke up to.

The Introit: "All that Thou hast done to us, O Lord, Thou hast done in true judgement: because we have sinned against Thee, and we have not obeyed Thy commandments".

The Epistle: " ... The days are evil. Wherefore, become not unwise, but understanding what is the will of God ... giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God and the Father, being subject one to another in the fear of Christ."

ARDERN'S HALO NOT JUST SHABBY, IT'S BLOODY

To comment, please open your gmail account or use FaceBook, Messenger or Twitter. Scroll down for other comments.

"I think she's done a good job."

Really. Let's examine that reasoning, given by some who say they're Catholics for voting Labour in Election 2020.

So COVID seems to be conquered. So she saved your skin - at enormous financial cost to your children and grandchildren. So she put on a hajib and hugged Moslems. What else?

According to many international columnists - whom she didn't buy off with a $50 million grant - she's made a literally bloody mess.

"Ardern ... has just about eradicated Covid-19. She has navigated the politics of the virus so well she stands on the brink of electoral triumph."

What that means is that she smiled and talked and hugged and bribed the media with $50million and the 'useful idiots' mobbing her in malls are ever so grateful they won't die just yet.

"...She has still been a poor Prime Minister, elected almost by accident.

Pretty much by Winston Peters actually, but to give him his due (reluctantly) unlike his female MPs - Tracey Martin, Minister for just-about-everything to do with kids and their grandparents - and Jenny Marcroft, Peters did vote against Ardern's abortion law. But if Ardern wins tomorrow and this country along with its unborn children is consigned to the slag heap, Peters more than any other single individual should be held responsible.

"... (U)nder the Byzantine protocols of her country's eccentric electoral system,  ... she won far fewer votes than the National government she replaced," Greg Sheridan, of The Australian wrote.

"Even on Covid-19, the Ardern government has done much less than it seems and at much greater cost than other countries have paid. There are other countries whose governments have even better records of eradicating Covid-19. ... Fiji with 32 cases, Solomon Islands with two cases and Vanuatu with none. Their leaders are not worldwide media sensations yet they got those numbers for the same reasons as New Zealand. They are isolated island nations.

"... Ardern('s)... list of undelivered election promises is staggering: 100,000 affordable homes promised, 600 built; homelessness to be eradicated, it increased; zero carbon emissions by 2050, emissions went up; reduce child poverty, it went up; regional public service emphasis, more public servants based in Wellington than before; light rail from Auckland airport to CBD, abandoned. But then came the virus and she could do her high priestess of the woke religion stuff, day after day.

"Validated by a swooning international media, unchallenged by a tepid and under-resourced..."

And bribed and unprincipled and incompetent

... "local media, she has sold the narrative that her government has saved NZ. "No international halo is so shabby, or so fraudulent, as that worn by New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern."

https://www.odt.co.nz/star-news/star-national/no-international-halo-so-shabby-international-media-fire-shots-ardern

And that's without giving any consideration to the most important issue: the right to life.

Sheridan's prediction for the Election NZ 2020 outcome is the same as Karl du Fresne's. If these two commentators are proved right, what do the useful idiots who vote for Labour, and the rest who vote for Labour-lite aka National, and the kamikaze Greens, the dead-in-the-water NZ Lasters, the Act-like-you're-God supporters and those who vote for good, in the shape of a party with Christian principles, have to look forward to?

Du Fresne explains in his blog on Wednesday:

... There will be nothing to stand in the way of a re-energised neo-Marxist agenda.

... We have already had a foretaste in the form of one of the world’s most permissive abortion regimes and the proposal to legalise cannabis. Expect much more under a re-invigorated and unrestrained Ardern government, starting with laws to curb so-called “hate speech”.

... The government is likely to crack down on any speech regarded as offensive by members of supposedly vulnerable minority groups. Egged on by provocateurs in the media, an Ardern government might decide not only to lower the threshold at which speech is considered harmful, but to extend protection to other groups demanding special treatment – for example, trans-gender people.

New Zealand media routinely stigmatises groups such as the New Conservatives as “far right” but never attaches equivalent labels to parties on the far left such as the Greens.

... In the 1950s and '60s ... New Zealand Marxists ... scoffed at claims of communist influence by ridiculing fears of “reds under the bed” (to which Catholic trade unionist Tony Neary, who staunchly resisted communist infiltration of the union movement, riposted that the Reds were sitting up in bed and having breakfast brought in).

Neo-Marxism has now extended its influence far beyond universities, reaching deep into government, schools, the media, the arts and even the churches.

In particular, the Catholic Church. Vide:

  • The pope's denunciation of capitalism in Evangelii Gaudium, part of which could have been written by Marx himself
  • The hyper-sensitivity shown to US BLM rioters by Cardinal John Dew, who condemned an "All Lives Matter" sign at a Masterton Church.
  • The Te Kupenga – Catholic Theological College lecturer Dr Rocio Figueroa, who espoused Liberation Theology at a Napier conference in October.

Pope Pius X: "Religious socialism, Christian socialism are contradictory terms, for no one can be, at the same time, a good Catholic and a true socialist."

Pope Pius XII: His "Decree Against Communism" excommunicated all Catholics collaborating with or voting for communist organizations.

Bear in mind the Communist manifesto:"Communists everywhere support every revolutionary movement against the existing social and political order of things.

"The result," du Fresne continues, "is a society that is losing confidence in itself, which is precisely the neo-Marxists’ aim – because a society that has lost confidence in itself is easier to intimidate and control.

"Expect more agitation for separate institutional arrangements for Maori, ... more unilateral adoption of Maori place names (fine, but let’s do it by referendum), more condemnation of supposed white privilege and white supremacy, more hysteria over so-called cultural appropriation, more humiliating, Salem-style public denunciations (accompanied by mandatory attendance at “cultural competency” courses) of people who refuse to toe approved ideological lines, more pressure on companies to pander to exaggerated minority sensitivities (and grovelling apologies when they are perceived to have fallen short), more politicisation of the police, more judicial activism by courts incorporating tikanga (Maori custom) in common law, more virtue-signalling by academics and writers who proclaim themselves as socialists (and therefore unashamedly align themselves with a sorry history of tyranny, repression and economic ruin), more arrogant interference with people's freedoms by activist groups such as Extinction Rebellion, more social media bullying of dissenters and more instances of “cancel culture”, where organisations are intimidated into abandoning legitimate speaking engagements for fear of disruption.

"... It’s only slightly melodramatic to say there’s a battle going on for the heart and soul of the country, but there has been little hint of this other than in New Conservatives billboards calling for free speech. National, the party that supposedly represents mainstream conservative values and therefore should be manning the barricades against the neo-Marxist takeover, is timidly tip-toeing around it and pretending not to see it, possibly because it’s terrified of incurring media antagonism."

https://breakingviewsnz.blogspot.com/2020/10/karl-du-fresne-what-no-ones-talked.html

Yes. "Crusher" Collins competing against Jacinderella in the Niceness Stakes has not been a pretty sight.

And I apologise if this is blog is getting to War and Peace proportions but I have to point out finally that Ardern's government is now seeking to suppress Family First, who've so staunchly stood up for the traditional family and opposed abortion and euthanasia.

The 'Hon' David Parker, Attorney General,  has appealed to the Supreme Court against the recent decision of the Court of Appeal to uphold its charity status withdrawn by the Charities Commission and upheld by the High Court in August 2018.

https://righttolife.org.nz/2020/10/13/why-is-the-labour-government-opposed-to-the-traditional-family/

Even though She made her appeal for prayer and consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart way back in 1917, it's never too late to turn to Our Lady of  Fatima.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

GRAFFITI OBSCENITY TARGETS NEW CONSERVATIVE

To comment please open your gmail account, use my email address juliedufresne@xtra.co.nz, Facebook, Messenger or Twitter. Scroll down for other comments.

What do these images (below) tell you? Take a gander at what's happening to New Conservative billboards up and down our (un)lovely country. And consider the amount of time that went into the 'Handmaid's Tale' job done on NC Leader Leighton Baker in the third image below - which like all billboards stood in a very prominent position. How many passersby would have spotted the vandal at work? Why didn't they report it to the police?

Or did they report it to the police???

Yes, graffiti's been applied to Labour and National billboards too, but when you think how many fewer NC billboards there were (because NC doesn't have the money to put more up, even though they have as many candidates as Labour and more than National), it's obvious that New Conservative has been under much heavier fire.

The reason, NC Leader Leighton Baker says, is that, "In politics, we are the most dangerous as true believers who are secure in the knowledge that we are here to save New Zealand."

"We have become a real threat, not just to the extreme left, but also to the establishment."

"The far left exhibiting their hateful anti-semitism and fascism via Nazi symbolism has not stopped us. Some people do it to be funny ... Every party gets damaged billboards. There are just some people in New Zealand who think it's okay to damage other people's property and who have no self-control," he said.

Baker emphasised that New Conservative is a very central party that has the values of family in mind and that if people looked into their policies they will realise they are not as extreme as some have suggested.

"We cannot be bought, we are not career politicians and we have ethics."

If you think the trashing shown above is bad enough, the mentality and morality of the vandals who oppose New Conservative is better fully revealed in the image below of Lee Smith, a Christian mother of seven and New Conservative candidate for Taranaki-King Country. Take a good hard look.

Lee snapped the pic herself; she's come up smiling. But she wants the rest of the country to see this evidence of the evil trolls who are out to get New Conservative. The only other example of billboard obscenity to be found on an internet search is of another Christian candidate, from another minor party. Funny that.

Makes me think of the reaction of Democrat senators at the US Senate confirmation hearings when after several hours of grilling, increasingly vicious, President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett pulled out a crucifix:

When Amy Coney Barrett gets out her crucifix

Democrat Cory Booker lets satan out of the bag

New Conservative Leader Leighton Baker responded to inflammatory, puerile billboard graffiti with temperate language. In the head-on collision between Christian and Satanic belief we're seeing in Election 2020 (both here and in the US), Leighton's equanimity shows how good interacts with evil.

Commentator Lindsay Perigo has accused Advance NZ of being 'charlatans' and he's right, but when he calls New Conservatives 'wimps' he's probably unaware that equanimity is one of the seven virtues which oppose the seven deadly sins.

On the feast of St Teresa of Jesus (Avila), and one day away from Election 2020 we remember her prayer for equanimity (aka patience, meekness). It's called St. Teresa’s Bookmark because, according to tradition this great saint carried it around in her breviary, where it was found after her death in 1582.

Let nothing disturb thee
Let nothing affright thee
All things pass away
God alone is changeless
Patience obtaineth all things
Who hath God, wanteth nothing
God alone sufficeth.

A VOTE FOR A LESSER EVIL IS A VOTE FOR GOOD WASTED

PM Ardern with chief minder Iain McKay

PM chief minder with wife Jessica Mutch-McKay
TVNZ Senior Political Editor

Election 2020 in New Zealand is, for Catholics, not a case of choosing the lesser evil - depending on your vantage point - of the two main parties: Labour (aka Socialism) or National (aka Labourlite).

There are also-rans, like Act, the Greens and NZ First but Catholics will discount the first two for their baby-killing propensities, as indeed they must disregard Labour for its not-quite-grown-up Communism.

I know there are priests in this country who to their shame (I hope and literally pray, not everlasting) have voted Labour in the past, and given the bishops' lack-lustre opposition to the Abortion Legislation Bill I wouldn't put it past either bishops or priests to vote Labour this time.

Last Sunday was 'Respect Life' Sunday, and the last Sunday before the election, so a God-given opportunity for priests to preach His word as guidance for their people. I went to Mass twice, as it happens. At the first Mass the A-word was mentioned just once and the unborn, not at all. What a farce.

At the second, no reference was made to Respect Life; that was a considered option by a holy priest, who chose to preach on the Epistle of the day (1 Cor 1:4-8) but to my mind, on reflection it was tailormade for a sermon on how to vote in Election 2020, so that "... Our Lord Jesus Christ ... will confirm you unto the end without crime ..."

Voting for any party but National is being presented in some traditional lay quarters almost as a crime: a crime against the cardinal virtue of prudence, which they say dictates that voting for a third party, i.e. New Conservatives as the only credible option, is 'a wasted vote'. They say we should vote 'tactically', 'strategically'.

Now these Latin Massgoers are talking about natural prudence. Even Novus Ordo Massgoers, who've been taught by their priests largely to disregard the supernatural perspective ("the things that are above"), do at least have a more practical view of life than priests or bishops. Unlike the latter, lay people are losing their jobs, their businesses, or their farms and even their lives by suicide. (Don't believe Greens' leader James Shaw, who lies in his teeth: anecdotally suicides are happening, in Hawke's Bay anyway, on an unprecedented scale.)

But there are lay people, especially part-Māori, who imbibed Labour with their mothers' milk and although they can't explain why, just can't get out of the habit. That's ideology for you; it's inexplicable. And there are those - I suspect the Latin Mass fraternity harbours many - who, even if it were a horse standing in their electorate, if it had a blue ribbon round its neck, would vote for the nag. They'd be able to cite rational reasons, but they're just blue to the bone.

Staying with the practical perspective, I give place to Leo 'the Lion Rampant Guardant' of Benneydale. It suits me for the moment to call him 'Rampant Guardant' because it's emblematic of prudence; and let's pretend, for amusement's sake, that you support the 'wasted vote' theory, and he's speaking to you:

Firstly, you’re adamant that New Conservative will not breach the 5% threshold, nor will they enter Parliament by winning the Takanini seat. You might well end up being right about that. But it won’t be because, as you seem to be convinced, new parties take some time to get into Parliament; it’ll be simply because New Zealand’s Catholics and Christians and anti-abortionists gave their vote to some other party that laughs at them. We both know that if all the aforementioned give their Party vote to New Conservative, New Conservative will be in Parliament.
But all the aforementioned won’t give their Party vote to New Conservative, for three reasons (maybe more):

- Not all of the aforementioned know anything about New Conservative.    For that you can blame leaders of anti-abortion groups, Catholic priests and bishops, other Christian leaders, and the feminist media.

Vide the smirking, superior Mutch-McKay, whose husband, incredibly, is the Ardern's chief minder, her "hot hipster bodyguard". In other words, TVNZ's Senior Political Editor, who 'moderated' Tv's election debates, spends her nights with the chap who spends his days with the Prime Minister. Then there's the moralising Tova O'Brien who thinks journalism is about 'storytelling and 'righting injustices', while like all press gallery journalists she is, to quote Karl du Fresne, "trapped in their own little self-absorbed Wellington bubble."

As Linda Manning, Wairarapa campaign manager for New Conservatives, posted on FaceBook:

The media in New Zealand have been bought and paid for by our Labour-led Government. Their thirty pieces of silver, paid by you the taxpayer, was $50million.

- Not all Catholics are Catholic, not all Christians are Christian. Many who call themselves Catholic or Christian, and turn up to church on Sundays, will vote for Labour or Greens, anyway. Fr James Altman has a word for that sort of Catholic: non-Catholic.

- There are some who persuade the aforementioned to give their vote to some pro-abortion party, for “strategic/tactical” reasons.

Secondly, you are opposed to New Conservative anyway, because, you claim, they are a Protestant party. I don’t know how you’ve come to that conclusion; New Conservative is areligious. But there are certainly among their candidates at least a few who have proclaimed their devout Catholicism. As for opposition to a “Protestant” political party, why should that be so? But then you claim that a Christian party “is the only way to go”. Do you mean a Catholic Party? Such a party, under the patronage of Call Me John (+Dew) et al would not be something I’d be voting for.

All previous overtly Christian parties have failed dismally in our general elections. The Christian Heritage Party is a relatively recent example, and their lack of success preceded the outing of their leader as a paedophile. So, why would you think a Christian Party is a goer?

But even though you are opposed to New Conservative’s perceived Protestantism, and see them as “gun fanatics”, you would vote for them if National were in Government. Confusing.

Thirdly, you’d “like to see Leighton Baker praying in church”. I have no doubt that, if the feminist media were interested, they could photograph Leighton praying in church every Sunday; he’s a committed Christian, albeit Protestant. Despite the New Conservative Party being areligious, Leighton insisted on leading Grace Before Meals at their June conference.

Fourthly, you’d like Leighton to “have the gumption to put his money where his mouth is”. Good gracious, I’m somewhat overwhelmed by the financial commitment that Leighton (and some others) have made to New Conservative! He owns/operates a small building business.    He has employed a manager to operate that business for a couple of years now while he has committed himself to promoting New Conservative. And he has paid for his own airfares and accommodation (and his wife’s) (sometimes billetted by Party members) while travelling all over the country. There’s no doubt that Leighton has been hit in the pocket for his commitment to pursuing a better New Zealand.

Fifthly, you are confused as to what happens to Party votes, and what is their impact on Parliamentary seats. It’s not related only to the forty-eight (48) seats available to Listers; it relates to the whole one hundred and twenty (120) Parliamentary seats. That votes for New Conservative get allocated to Labour is a fantasy.

...I acknowledge the excellent positions of the ONE Party in regard to abortion.    However, I can’t see any aspect of that which seeks greater protection of children in the womb than do New Conservative, who have proclaimed that they will repeal the recent legislation.

There is no reason to doubt that New Conservative will not fulfil their pledges, any more than you might think that of the ONE Party. There are at least a few devout Catholics standing as New Conservative candidates. I don’t know of any standing amongst the few ONE Party candidates.

Whereas New Conservatives have a candidate standing in every one of NZ's 71 electorates and are the only party to do so.

Lastly ... the reality is that I will vote for the political party which most closely represents Catholic teaching, Catholic principles. I can do no other. Regardless of the election outcome, I will sleep with a clear conscience on October 17th. I’m not all sure that those Catholics who have voted otherwise will do so.

If like moi you haven't voted yet (who knows what might happen before Saturday?) take a look at the New Conservative website, check out the bios of the candidate in your electorate and any of their policies that interest you. www.nc.org.nz

However, there's very much more to the question of 'a wasted vote' than all of the above.

As Leo makes pretty obvious, voters are offered a good alternative to National and Labour. Bear in mind that although there are decent National MPs, there are some nasty numbers in National who recently ankle-tapped, on the election trail, the Leader they'd recently elected, a woman who's voted for Labour's heinous abortion legislation and for euthanasia, and who was a Labourite before she was shouldertapped by National.

For all we know, 'Crusher Collins' might be a mole. That's not so far-fetched a notion, when you consider politics now, and NZ politicians' obsession with gaining power and keeping it.

However, for Christians - and by calling for a four-day fast and prayer, and preaching the Gospel on abortion and euthanasia, New Conservative Protestants are showing Catholics the way - there's very much more to the question of 'a wasted vote' than all of the above.

Remember your former leaders, who spoke God's message to you. Think back on how they lived and died, and imitate their faith (Heb 13).

We must imitate that faith, and trusting God with our vote for good (New Conservatives) is an opportunity to exercise that virtue of faith so that it strengthens and deepens within us. If they're praying and fasting like our Protestant friends for God's will to be done in Election 2020, how can the wasted-vote theorists so confidently prophesy that New Conservatives will not get over the 5% threshold?

How would the Redemptorist preachers, the Dominican preachers and the parish priests we remember so fondly (albeit with some amusement), not to mention the saints or even men like the heroic 20th century saint-yet-to-be-canonised, Dietrich von Hildebrand, who "always stood on the side of truth", regard the idea of voting for a party who elected as leader a woman like Judith Collins?

Truth and love cannot be separated. The proponents of the 'vote tactically' theory quote St Thomas Aquinas: "Prudence is right reason in action". Exactly.

Virgins prudent and imprudent

Supernatural prudence shows us how to get to God, because getting to God is the only thing that matters. When we mistake evil for good we are not exercising prudence, we are showing our lack of it. To vote for a party which elected a leader who advocates killing babies and the elderly and disabled because you don't trust God to deal with your vote the way you think He should, is to mistake evil for good.

It's only by prayer and fasting that we attain to that wisdom which truly discriminates right from wrong, the wisdom which is "an inexhaustible treasure to men, and those who acquire it win God's friendship" (Wis 7:14).

Love trumps prudence, whatever way you look at it. If we love God, we trust Him; if we love His creatures we'll vote for the party which has pledged to protect them from womb to tomb.

Here's St Teresa of Jesus (Teresa of Avila), Doctor of the Church, whose feast the Church celebrates tomorrow:

“O my God, a soul who loves You listens no more to the suggestions of human prudence. Faith and love alone influence her, making her despise all earthly things, holding them to be worthless, as indeed they are. She cares not for any earthly good, being convinced that all is vanity. When she finds that by doing something she can serve You better, she listens to no objections but acts at once, for she understands that her profit consists entirely in this” (cf. Teresa of Jesus, Conceptions of the Love of God 3).

I'll leave the last word to my daughter on FaceBook, yesterday:

"Just can't bring myself to vote for a party whose leader thinks it's ok to kill babies."

THEFT OF TABERNACLE FROM WAIROA CHURCH NEEDS REPARATION FATIMA-STYLE

St Peter's Church, Wairoa

The tabernacle of  the beautiful little church of St Peter's Wairoa was stolen last week. (Wairoa, for you who live north of the Bombay Hills, is in Northern Hawke's Bay.)

Father announced the theft at Mass yesterday as "a tragedy," and asked us to pray for the people of Wairoa.

It is certainly a tragedy and the people of Wairoa - who have good grounds to suspect the thieves live in their midst - but more particularly surely, the parish of St Peter's, certainly need prayer.  Parish priest Father Arthur Toothill said the tabernacle and bells also stolen were heavy and he believed more than one person would have been involved.

But the horrifying aspect of the crime is abuse of the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. Presumably the tabernacle held a ciborium containing a number of consecrated Hosts, and the lunette and large Host exhibited in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

We can only pray it was bored school kids who stole these sacred objects, and not 'useful idiots' inspired by the wholesale desecration of churches and statues in the US by Black Lives Matter thugs, or malefactors who would offer the Hosts for sale for black Masses.

But it seems strange that children, apart from Massgoing children, would know of the existence of this tabernacle.

Because in this image of St Peter's interior (above) there's no sign of a tabernacle. In the words of someone familiar with St Peter's it's "sort off to one side, out of sight", which would make it easier to steal or damage or otherwise desecrate without being seen. That's one of the reasons why the Church in Her wisdom stipulates that the tabernacle be clearly seen on entering the church.

But New Zealand's bishops, in their wisdom, have ordained that it's okay for tabernacles to be shunted aside, as something seemingly to be ashamed of - vide, St Mary's Taradale, Sacred Heart Hastings, and the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Palmerston North. The bishops' idea would seem to be making Catholic churches more acceptable to Protestants, but faithful Catholics wish their churches could be made more acceptable to Almighty God.

And lest you're scoffing at the idea of Hosts being sold for black Masses, just last year the e-commerce company Etsy.com offered what the vendor claimed were “Real Catholic Hosts, consecrated by a priest.”

The seller, calling himself “AL” and his business “Pentagora,” stated that the purpose of the nine Hosts was “to abuse for classic black fairs or black magic purposes.”
The Hosts, he said, were made and consecrated in Germany, and the listing indicated that they would be shipped from Germany.

LifeSiteNews contacted the vendor for evidence that the Hosts were indeed consecrated.

“Maybe you don't know, but to celebrate an authentic black mass, you have to be an ordained Catholic priest,” AL responded.
“There are a handful of priests in Germany who work in the satanic underground.
Unfortunately, I am not allowed to tell you more,” he continued.

" You don't have to believe me. The right people recognize me, that's all that matters.”

Beverly Stevens, editor of Regina Magazine, who lived in Germany for seven years, said
“Catholic artifacts and sacred objects (in Germany) are routinely treated with the utmost disdain by the hierarchy and the elites they cater to ― so pretty predictable that this would spread to regular people.”

Stevens said she had seen sacred relics for sale in a Wiesbaden flea market.

“The seller thought it amusing that we Americans were horrified,” she recalled. “So the sale of consecrated hosts online for satanic worship purposes is completely predictable. I doubt whether Cardinal (Reinhard) Marx would bat an eye.”

It's obvious then that there is a most pressing need for concerned, faithful Catholics, not just in Wairoa but throughout New Zealand, to make reparation for this theft and the consequent desecration of the Blessed Sacrament.

How quaint, Novus Ordo Catholics might think, who've been told there's nothing we can do to merit Heaven, and that 'holy people' might not make it.

But Eucharistic reparation is a major theme of Fatima, whose message has been largely ignored by the Catholic hierarchy with the most devastating results, among them World War II. It was not Our Lady Herself - who showed three shepherd children a terrifying vision of Hell - but the Angel of Fatima who prepared the children for Her apparitions who has taught us, through them, to make reparation for abuses committed against our Lord in the Eucharist.

St Jacinta, left, and St Francisco, right, with Lucia (Lucy) whose canonisation is still pending, probably because she was an embarrassment to the hierarchy and was usurped by a fake

The angel taught them this prayer:

Most Holy Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly.  I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He is offended.  By the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners.
Then, as he was giving them Holy Communion, he spoke these words:  “Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Make reparation for their crimes and console your God.”
Francisco ... would spend much of his remaining short time on earth praying before Jesus in the tabernacle in order to console Him and make reparation for the sins that so saddened Him.

Why make Eucharistic reparation?

While we make reparation for all sins when we sanctify our daily lives by offering our sufferings, Eucharistic reparation is done most efficaciously, although not exclusively, in the presence of the Holy Eucharist.

But wait on, isn't it those 'holy people' who make visits to the Blessed Sacrament that we're discouraged from emulating, because they're less likely to make it to Heaven? And why should they bother, when a priest tells them there's nothing they can do to merit Heaven - which is what Martin Luther taught and Protestants believe; that 'we're saved, Halleluiah! Amen!' No worries!

Second, its specific foci are the outrages, sacrileges and indifference, so offensive to Our Lord.

What are the outrages? Some examples are the desecration that occurs when churches are sacked; the use of stolen Hosts in satanic rituals; sacrilegious communions repeatedly committed by public manifest sinners who support abortion, infanticide and euthanasia.

What are the sacrileges? The reception of Holy Communion when not in a state of grace; failure to consume the Host immediately and discarding It later, or worse, giving It to others who have intent to desecrate It.

Indifference is most often manifest in ignoring Our Lord’s Real Presence – our failure to visit Him; our failure to acknowledge Him when passing by a church; our failure to reverence Him upon entering a church; and our failure to avail ourselves of chapels of perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.

We can also exhibit indifference when our reception of Holy Communion becomes a meaningless ritual act where we disregard the grace that God wants to give us.

We can offer Holy Communions in reparation for these outrages, sacrileges and indifference.

The astonishing thing about Communions of Reparation made in observance of the conditions requested by Our Lady is eternal salvation for the communicant. Anyone fulfilling the conditions can be sure of obtaining at the moment of death - even when in mortal sin - the graces they need for God's pardon and to avoid eternity in Hell.

Communions of Reparation will also convert sinners in danger of Hell.

So mothers and fathers who fret over children conditioned by the NO and Proddy preaching, children who know no better so they've stopped going to Mass, and Catholics concerned for their priests and bishops - who are in much greater danger of Christ's judgment - can come to the rescue of those children and clergy by Communions of Reparation.

The five conditions for Communions of Reparation:

  • On the first Saturday of five consecutive months
  • Receive Holy Communion
  • Say the Rosary
  • Keep Our Lady company for fifteen minutes while meditating the mysteries of the Rosary
  • Confess with the same intention (the confession can be made another day on condition of being in a state of grace whilst receiving Holy Communion).

We can visit Our Lord in any church anytime to make Eucharistic reparation. We can frequent a Eucharistic Adoration Chapel and console Our Lord.

But where are those Eucharistic Adoration chapels? In the whole of the PN Diocese I can't think of any, and just one I can think of in the Archdiocese of Wellington. That's because, I suppose, that Eucharistic Adoration chapels are so - well, you know, Catholic.

We should pray the Angel’s Prayer often, especially when in Jesus’ presence.

At the close of each period of Eucharistic reparation, we should pray “Most Holy Trinity I adore You, my God, my God, I love you in the Most Blessed Sacrament” seven times. Why seven times? Because in scripture the number seven signifies completeness and/or Divine perfection. https://www.bluearmy.com/eucharistic-reparation-in-the-fatima-message/

May the Heart of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament be praised, adored and loved with grateful affection at every moment in all the tabernacles of the world even until the end of time!  Amen.
