BERGOGLIO THE WOLF ENTERS THE CARMELITE FOLD, FIRES CHAPLAINS

To comment please open your gmail account or use my email address FB or Messenger. It would seem that while jailed by FB this page is better devoted to traditional Catholic matters as they are our core readers. (Someone asked yesterday if 'a traditional Catholic blog' means it's written in Latin. So droll.)

The wolf in sheep's clothing has struck again, entering the fold of two cloistered Carmelite monasteries and forcing open their gates to let the world enter at will.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) has fired the chaplains of the monasteries of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in Fairfield Pennsylvania and Valparaiso Nebraska, and given the nuns one year to comply with new regulations removing their autonomy and damaging their contemplative way of life.

The Prefect of the CDF is the Jesuit Cardinal Luis Ladaria, appointed by Bergoglio after his shock firing of the conservative Cardinal Gerhard Muller. One year later, in 2018, the Vatican refused to hand Ladaria over to the criminal court for implication in charges of covering up a predator priest.

How dare Bergoglio interfere with the Carmelite constitutions devised by that great saint and Doctor of the Church, Teresa of Avila? He dares because he is determined to choke the life out of the very heart of the Church, the traditional, contemplative orders which sustain the Church and revitalise her.

And here's the thing: the traditional orders are too successful. They must be stopped. Cancelled.

How can any true bishop, priest or faithful lay person remain silent in the face of such injustice? Did the young Daniel keep his mouth shut when Susanna was wrongly accused? Should this blog not continue to cry out against the demolition of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church by its supposed chief shepherd, "Pope Francis"?

"And if the watchman see the sword coming, and sound not the trumpet: and the people look not to themselves, and the sword come, and cut off a soul from among them: he indeed is taken away in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at the hand of the watchman" (Ez 33:6).

Even that most gentle of saints, Francis de Sales has said, "The declared enemies of God and His Church, heretics and schismatics, must be criticized as much as possible, as long as truth is not denied. It is a work of charity to shout: 'Here is the wolf!' when it enters the flock or anywhere else."

Franciscan friar Father Maximilian Mary Dean has served the sisters in Fairfield for five years. In an exclusive interview with Lifesite's Jim Hale he says his firing comes as no surprise after last fall's Apostolic Visitation. https://youtu.be/RHQdH6CMzto

His confrere at Valparaiso, Nebraska, is a Monsignor, a distinguished canonist and the Vicar General of the Diocese. He's been chaplain to the nuns for 30 years. He's fired. He has to leave his residence at the monastery.

Fr Maxilmilian Mary describes the CDF's official response to their visitation as "totally unjust". The nuns have been given one year to sign up to one of the CDF's "federations", compromising their autonomy. They were told that by no means would they receive a dispensation.

They have been told that if they want to follow Doctor of the Church St Teresa of Avila's constitutions then are not true children of the Church, because they would not be obeying the Congregation. They must belong to a "federation" and make compromises in regard to their formation as daughters of Carmel.

"It is a very harsh response to these brides of Christ who left everything to love Jesus and pray for the Church and for all of us," says Fr Maximilian Mary.

Jim Hale asks why would the Vatican wish to close a cloistered Carmelite monastery of traditional sisters where the vocations are booming? They have a waiting list of young ladies wanting to enter. "Everyone who goes to Fairfield Pennsylvania and visits this successful glorious monastery, which is such a blessing, would ask why are they being targeted?"

Father Maximilian Mary explains that the agenda is to modernise the Church."Times have changed so the Church has to change, religious observances have to change. You can't observe what Teresa of Avila did in the 16th century, you have to get with the times.

"The reason the monastery is so successful is because it is the 16th century! In Pennsylvania! What (the nuns) are living is timeless. You don't have to "adapt".At Valparaiso they have 40 nuns. At Fairfield we have 24. At Fairfield we get 100 vocational enquiries a year.

(The CDF) have changed the meaning of new wine in new wineskins to mean we have to change the Gospel and change religious life to suit the times. Are we going to follow the spirit of the times? Of the world? Or of the Holy Spirit? The Holy SPirit is eternal, He is outside time and it is He Who inspired St Teresa.

"The Latin Mass is just the tip of the iceberg. They (the CDF) are after the whole iceberg. Autonomous monasteries are required to belong to federations, go to meetings. The federation has total power over the monasteries. They can move sisters from one place to another. They can close monasteries."

Fr. Maximilian Mary of Jesus Crucified making his Solemn Vows as a hermit in the hands of Bishop Ronald Gainer, Diocese of Harrisburg, on Sept. 26th, 2020.

Father Maximilian Mary Dean lives an eremitical life. He is a hermit who offers intercessory prayer for the faithful at novenamasses.org

"That's why I'm a hermit. It's to have intimacy with Christ. I carry that cross of intercessory prayer with joy, in imitation of Christ.

"Man proposes, God disposes." Fr Maximilian took his name in religion from St Maximilian Kolbe, who died in Auschwitz in place of a married man with children. He was starved and finally killed with an injection of carbolic acid.

When the Nazi officer asked who he was, Maximilian answered, "I am a Catholic priest. Priesthood means laying down your life for the family man, for your neighbour, for others. This is what it means to be a Franciscan, Catholic priest and a true child of the Immaculata.

"I am a Catholic priest."

  1. It's global. I have it on excellent authority that the former Bishop of Auckland hauled the Little Sisters of the Poor over the coals. Requested they modify their habit and tried to get them to sell their land to his diocese. The nuns refused both requests. The Bishop wanted the prime real estate perhaps to flog off for apartments. Similar rot happened in Guam to the Carmelites a few years back. Its on YouTube. Bergoglio and his minions will go down in history as theological fraudsters. When first elected he said we had been talking about abortion to long. Then he complained about a spiritual bouquet he was given. Doesn't like repetition in prayer. Then the beach ball on the alter in Brazil when visiting. Etc etc.

  2. Dad always used to say that Julia, 'Man proposes, God disposes'.

Francis is a wrecking ball and people cannot be under any illusion anymore to what he is trying to achieve. A new world religion. It will fail because this is not the Holy Spirit at work.

In confusion, disorder and distress there be wolves..

God bless you in your work.

  3. I have lived in several parishes since settling in NZ in 1972/73. It’s only since coming to the Palmerston North diocese a few years ago, however, that I became very aware of just how much the Novus Ordo Mass format varied from town to town. And with a local priest telling me at that time that this diocese was trying its utmost to remove everything from the Church that was Catholic, from his observation, nothing surprises me these days about the rather dramatic changes that Pope Francis makes at times. May the good nuns rebel and resist.

    1. Yes, Bob. The new Christology underpins most of what is happening.

What Christ saw and experienced during the Agony in the Garden. What He foresaw of the Church in our times.

  5. War has broken out in the Church, (it has been said - Rev.12 )Remember the words of the Gladiator to the fake emperor, we are loyal to the the only true one - Christus Imperat ! Our homes have become battlefields, our schools, our churches, our faith, our souls,.... If we live for Him, we die for Him, then we shall reign with Him forever ! Shame on that Bishop of Auckland ( re the Sisters of the poor, Who was he ? That wasn't reported in the Catholic paper. AdiĆ³s ! San Martin.

    1. I know it wasn't reported in the Catholic paper. These were private conversations between the former Bishop of Auckland and The Little Sisters. I have a close contact who passed the information to me. I think we can all work out who the Bishop concerned was. He recently retired after mishandling a complaint about a priest.

  6. Anon says:
I believe Pope Francis is preparing us for his modernist Church of the 'third millennium'. This will be the Church that accepts gay marriage, married priests and female priests. A new doctrine will prevail and the scriptural teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ will be twisted (I mean to say, Christ's teachings in Sacred Scripture are so 'first millennium').

I believe Pope Francis is getting rid of any traces of reverence and tradition, this is essential to his agenda. That is why Carmelite orders and the Latin Mass must be controlled or eliminated. Because they will act as a contrast and a source of criticism of the modernist agenda.

Right here in Palmerston North, Cardinal Dew and Bishop Cullinane have shown pastoral brutality in the way they ruthlessly closed a flourishing Latin Mass community. They used the excuse that it was closed because the Latin Mass adherents rejected Vatican II, but the vast majority did not reject Vatican II. I believe the real reason was to help clear the way for the modernist Church of the third millennium.

But SSPX filled the vacuum in Palmerston North instantly. SSPX was set up half a century ago in response to modernism. It was absolutely ready and waiting for the actions of Pope Francis, Dew and Cullinane, who have ever more exposed their nefarious agenda.

"That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

  7. Very well written. Will be interesting to see who the next Pope will be. If he will continue the agenda or slow matters down. Hans Kungs book 'Can the Catholic Church be Saved?" is worh reading. Yes, he is a modernist but one can see the agenda clearly in plain writing. The diocese of Tasmania looks promising. It's Bishop is conservative. New trad orders are working there.Interesting times. They always have been. So many have fallen for the misconceptions of de Chardin.

  8. Look
What really does have to happen is get rid of the unsuitable clergy. Church Militant reports that a Kiwi family is suing Bishop Fellay SSPX. Seems their 11 year old boy was abused by Fr Damian Carlyle an Australian priest who was stationed here some years back. The madness must stop. These crimes are not just done by the modernist clergy.

  9. Support totally comments re former Latin Mass of PN, yes it was pastoral brutality, & yes, the madness is not just by mod clergy. Now, women are the men's contemplative orders - Benedictines, Franciscans, Carmelites, Carthusians, Cistercians, - when are they to take action in defense of the contemplative Nuns whose convents are being closed ?They were once Catholic boys, when are they are going to act like men and take a stance in defence of their sisters ? They should defy this dodgy Pope and demand that the autonomy of every convent and every monastery within the bounds of the Orders. The Church does not to have control, such siminous control over Orders via the Congregation's. By the way, Life Site reported last year that 100's of these convents have already been sold.John the beloved.

  11. True. Hope the new protocols and change in Canon law will prevent this happening again. The church in the USA has paid out hundreds of millions.

  12. Bergoglio is at his worst when he is involved in a public argument he thinks he has to win. Then he is boorish, rude, devious, often not entirely honest, and very personal.
