St. Charles Borromeo Consoling the Plague-Stricken, detail, by Caspar Franz Sambach

"Covid is the new religion and the vaccine is the new god. We must convert, and accept the jab!"

Father Michael Johnson SSPX was preaching today from his pulpit at St Anthony's, Whanganui. Fr Johnson is Amurrican and alternates the St Anthony's livestream Mass during the current lunatic lockdown with Fr Francois Laisney, who is French.

Why are Kiwi priests not so frank and forthcoming?

By contrast, on seeing a parishioner in the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes Palmerston North today, P P Father Joe Grayland told her the grounds were closed (they were open, obviously, she didn't climb the fence) and gave her a mask to put on. In the open air.  Fr Grayland himself was unmasked in more ways than one: he is obviously a worshipper in the Church of Covid ,but one who says do what I say, not what I do.

Self-explanatory

Who knows if that's true also of the functionary who's penned a missive to the bishopless faithful of Palmerston North Diocese, telling them how to conduct themselves in the Church of Covid (once they're allowed back in), where the liturgy is 'protocols'. The 'protocols' are necessary because 'a significant number of cases of the delta variant have (sic) been identified in the community'.

What 'community'? Not the Palmerston North diocesan community, not so far as Commissar Doomfield knows, anyway. 'There is a high risk that the outbreak will spread.' Then more hysteria, including a threat of hospitals 'becoming overwhelmed and unable to provide basic health care services.'

Fr Grayland and the PN Diocese are fear-mongering. And if there were really a risk to the faithful, should they not be summoned to their churches where their shepherds would offer Masses of reparation and propitiation to God the Most High for the sins which have provoked His divine wrath, in the hope of saving their souls for eternity rather than their miserable lives here on earth?

'Staying at home will stop people travelling and mixing with others.' Really??? Is this the level of IQ that 60 years of Novus Ordo have reduced us to?

The high priests of the Church are invoked in this missive, and they must be obeyed. They are 'the civil authorities'. The authority of Jesus Christ the King is flouted by closing all the churches which once were Catholic, and we must all bow down to the high priests of Covid in our 'bubbles'.

Times of plague and pestilence and pandemics are supposed to make saints and there are many. Like St Charles Borromeo, who during the bubonic plague in Milan told his flock:

“But if someone does contract the disease, and others are no longer there [for the work], then I myself, who will be going out among you every day, on account of the sick, will be there. I shall be charged with caring for your health in both body and soul. I will willingly come to your aid. I offer myself to you right now as a minister of the Sacraments, if that should be necessary.”

The saint was as good as his word in this regard. There are stories of his reaching over the corpses of others to give Extreme Unction (as it was called in those days) to those so close to death that they had already been thrown among the dead.

Many great works of art depict the saint in the midst of the plague crisis. Some of them ... depict St. Charles processing through Milan, asking for God to spare the city. He put a noose around his neck to indicate he offered his own life for that of his flock, a dramatic and quite disturbing symbol." https://angelusnews.com/faith/charles-borromeo-a-saint-for-the-crisis/

But to return to today's livestreamed Mass from St Anthony's Whanganui, with the redoubtable Father Johnson in the pulpit revelling in this new apostolate (with apologies to Fr Johnson for telescoping his fine sermon, and for any inaccuracies in the shorthand).

Jim Jones in 1977, the year before the Jonestown massacre

"In this dystopian religion of the virus, this global cult, we must convert and accept the jab!"

Father Johnson likened the new religion of Covid to the 'Peoples Temple' of Jim Jones, where the only path to salvation was Koolaid laced with cyanide, which Jones coerced 918 of his followers in Jonestown, Guyana to drink, resulting in a mass murder/suicide.

"This is an entirely man-made religion which has become the single source of salvation. Those who don't convert to this religion must be excluded, because they threaten its adorers.

"Never before in history have we seen anything like this. We must all bow down to Covid. It masks a persecution of the Faith in which churches are closed and the Mass and the sacraments withheld.

"It's impossible to identify its source; we must obey - for intentions we can only guess at. But all the so-called 'conspiracy' theories point to global tyranny, to the 'New Normal', the 'Great Reset' - and the vaccine is the Holy Grail."

Father Johnson went on to speak of Catholic moral theology in regard to medicine, and the moral principles involved. He asked, rhetorically, if there is any moral obligation to be jabbed? "No."

"The vaccines developed using fetal tissue are a gravely immoral development which is debated by some moral theologians who say the fetal tissue was used long ago so it's  permissible.

"No. That's jesuitical. and it's casuistry. And anyway, why should they use old cell lines when fresh ones are so readily available?

"Is the vaccine safe? Is it effective? Is it moral? - It's experimental. There's not been enough time to test it. It's immoral to use it and we can't know if it's effective. Vaccinated people are dying.

"We're told if we're not vaccinated we're putting others at risk. "Don't be selfish, take the jab." That's sheer nonsense. If I freely choose not to be vaccinated I put only myself at risk, and possibly put others who are unvaccinated at risk. Do your research.

This Covid religion is a religion of death. It's leading people to their death, if not physical death then moral death.

The mantra of this world is "we shall not die". But we Catholics know that after death we may enjoy union with Christ for all eternity."

Father Johnson would surely agree with St Charles Borromeo:

"Always have God before your eyes, in whose sight you stand and who always sees you.”

  1. I am surprised at Fr Johnson. There is no such thing as the church of covid.

    1. No need to be surprised at Fr Johnson - he is a straight shooter.

The “church of COVID” means it has captured many minds and souls of Catholics, especially in New Zealand.

    2. If he had seen the deaths from Covid on CNN he might have a slightly different opinion.

    3. I say:
Anonymous I, the 'Church of Covid' is of course a figure of speech.

    4. I say:
Anonymous II, CNN is considered a joke. CNN signed up to an international agreement by the MSM (mainstream media), reported on this blog, not to publish anything unfavorable to promotion of the Covid vaccine narrative.
