"BISHOPS SEE +GRAYLAND AS PN'S DE FACTO BISHOP"

The spectacle (above) of Gay Pride draped over the facade of St Agnes Catholic Church in Cologne, Germany may before long be replicated at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Palmerston North. That is, if the heretical Father Joe Grayland, cathedral PP, gets to implement his not so sub rosa agenda for changing Church doctrine on 'gays' and lesbians - turning vice into virtue.

And what stands between Fr Grayland and his objective? Not the NZ Conference of Catholic Bishops, according to a reader of this blog, who maintains that Fr Grayland is in fact something of a quisling, a creature of our modernist bishops, to be employed by them as "the de facto bishop of Palmerston North Diocese for a long time to come".

And can you imagine +Grayland's only opposition - traditional Catholics - climbing the cathedral to hoist a flag for their Champion, the Blessed Virgin Mary?  Nah. We've been trained to obey - but to obey the Magisterium of the Church, not faithless shepherds, not wolves in sheeps' clothing.

Just three days ago the laity of Parramatta Diocese Australia succeeded in having their bishop moderate his public support for gender identity after they waged a campaign that led him to amend his opposition to local legislation banning discussion of gender ideology in schools.

Bishop Vincent Long Van Nguyen (above) of Parramatta has been criticized by local Catholics for what they see as his favorable and false approach to the homosexual agenda, especially in relation to diocesan schools.

But in New Zealand, 'cradle Catholics' who have mostly been converted by our bishops to the heresy of modernism (the "synthesis of all heresies"), and even more so, traditional Catholics - cradle or converted - will perhaps find the following, from our reader, hard to believe:
"Our bishops are following a clever strategy (which comes directly from Pope Francis) to hold CatholicTruth (scripture and doctrine) in one hand, and the world in the other hand.
"They pretend to support both, but they are letting the world gradually dominate. Their actions are mainly of the world. They never discuss or resolve the utter contradiction between the world and the Truth. They slowly boil the frog and avoid open schism. It's working, most Catholics, in NZ at least, are ultra liberal now.  Fr Grayland is practically mainstream.

"I think Fr Joe sees himself as one of the new shock troops, a kind of Fr James Martin, the infamous pro-sodomy American priest, to whom Pope Francis gave a personal audience, while refusing to reply to the written concerns of Cardinals over his radical Amoris Laetitia.  It seems support for Fr Grayland and his ilk goes to the top."

"The utter contradiction between the world and the Truth" is what sticks in the craw most.

In a thousand ways the Real Presence, the source, summit and centre of our Catholic faith, is denied, derided and rejected. A vignette from this very evening: a ovely young Catholic school teacher, arriving half an hour early for a parish council meeting, spent that half hour in the foyer of the church with her phone.

The Novus Ordo effect and its architects, the bishops, have reduced the Church to such an extent that an N O liberal/modernist, a committed Massgoing 'Catholic' (in our reader's terms, ultra liberal), can state that ascribing to Our Lord in the tabernacle any desire for His creatures' company is anthromorphism, meaning:" an interpretation of what is not human or personal in terms of human or personal characteristics : humanization."

That's what we've come to, people. Most Catholics, if they think about the Blessed Sacrament at all, think that It is "not human or personal in terms of human or personal characteristics."

  • That's why no one enters my parish churches, at least, between Sundays except for literally a handful at a weekday Mass.
  • That's why hardly anyone genuflects.
  • That's why everyone talks in the church - to one another and rarely to Our Lord.
  • That's why almost everyone receives Communion in the hand.
  • That's why they leave the church immediately after the recessional hymn (sorry, 'song') without making their thanksgiving for Communion.
  • That's why New Zealand has so few home-grown priests and seminarians.
  • That's why Mass counts are dropping even further.

If it weren't for immigrants who have only recently been exposed to our bishops' malevolent influence, the Catholic Church in New Zealand would all over, rover. We'll need a steady supply of fresh, faithful Catholics from overseas to keep the Church going, because sooner or later the immigrants will become anaesthetized and/or inoculated by the modernist jab peddled by NZ's priests and bishops.
Our reader is absolutely right: Jorge Bergoglio's MO is sleight of hand, quoting Catholic teaching but in practice effecting its denial.  A  case in point is the declaration in March of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which denied the possibility of giving blessings to homosexual couples. That's Catholic doctrine pure and simple and we all know it.

The rabbi, the imam and the bishop on a Belgian stamp

But it created an uproar - which of course, is exactly what Bergoglio expected and wanted. A prominent Belgian bishop, Johan Bonny, for example, says this sort of Church teaching makes him so ashamed that he's apologised to all homosexual couples as well as their parents and grandparents ... And the Vatican is staying shtum.

Bergoglio pretends to uphold Church doctrine but is deliberately permissive. Right after he signed off the declaration of the Congregation of the Faith, he let it be known through journalist chums that he was very disturbed by it. One of the chums, Elisabetta Pique, wrote at La Nacion: "Although today's letter, like last Sunday's Angelus, did not have any reference to the responsum of the CDF, a document that had the assent of the 'Holy Father' (scorn quotes mine), the message made clear the contrasting vision of Pope Francis and of the Church in terms of content and language."

As Aldo Maria Valli says in The Remnant (April 15): "I wonder how there can be a contrast between the vision of the pope and of the Church."

Bergoglio is a Jesuit, crafty and ambiguous, called by some 'the Peronist Pope'. He admired Juan Peron, who upended Argentina's social structure by championing the underclass (and is said to have forced a lobotomy on his wildly popular and dangerous wife, Eva.)

Eva Peron, presumably pre-lobotomy

Bergoglio lets attack dogs like Bonny off the leash so that by comparison less heretical statements and actions look mild and acceptable. That's what I think our reader means, partly, by boiling the frog. So our bishops let Father Grayland say what he likes, and his admirers and dimmer-witted clergy will follow his lead (if the latter can make out what he's saying, that is). "Many drops of water wear away the stone," as they say - even when the stone is the rock of Peter, the Catholic Church. But never so many drops as to wear it away completely.

And it does look like the NZ bishops, in relation to the wildly errant Father Grayland, are employing Bergoglian tactics. And they use the official organ of the Wellington Archdiocese, the lamentable Welcom, to push their modernist/liberal views, and are probably hand-in-glove with the deplorable Cathnews. As to NZ Catholic, owned by the bishop of Auckland, they say the voice of traditional, faithful Catholics is no longer heard in the letters to the editor page. That's hearsay though. I stopped reading it years ago.

Rise up, you Catholics who love Christ and His Church, and love the faith handed down to you - at what expense! - by your forebears, and resist. The time has come for kind of public, traditional Catholic resistance to the promulgation in the cathedral parish and beyond of heretical beliefs.

We ought to obey God rather than men.” The bishops are disobeying God. If we remain silent we are complicit in their disobedience. It’s time for the laity to rise up and resist.

"Push back," as they say.

  • Push back by stating the truth.
  • Push back by draping your cathedral and churches with Marian banners.
  • Push back by calling for holy water fonts to be reinstated
  • For the removal of Ardern's horrible plastic bottles of 'sanitisier' and curling, faded 'sign in and stop the virus' posters.
  • Push back by refusing to continue on parish rosters as lectors, musicians, singers, acolytes and sacristans.
  • Push back most of all by returning your Planned Giving envelope empty, having given its contents to worthy causes such as Voice for Life, Family Life International, Right to Life, Red Cross.

Counter-attack with organised prayer: ask your parish priests for Holy Hours, Benediction, novenas, public recitation of the Holy Rosary.

How did Parramatta Catholics succeed against their Bishop? By holding Rosary protests outside their bishop's office ...

But to rise up and resist, to push back, NZ Catholics need to pray for the virtue of detachment. In this country not even traditional Catholics - who must survive spiritually on Communion on the tongue when they can get it, and on faithful priests who are scarce as hen's teeth - often recognise the supreme value of detachment, taught by St. John of the Cross as being in perfect harmony with the fundamental precept of Jesus: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with all thy strength and with all thy mind” (Lk 10:27).

St John of the Cross, Doctor of the Church

"If the heart is occupied with inordinate attachments to self or creatures," says St John of the Cross, "it is clear that it cannot love God with all its strength, which is divided between God and self, between God and creatures.
vhttps://spiritualdirection.com/2019/02/11/the-essence-of-detachment

Detachment preserves us from the concern for others' opinions which prevents us from  defending Our Lord and His rights, which makes us afraid even to stand outside a hospital on babykilling days holding a sign of God's love for His infants and their mothers. ("Who's going to see me? What will they think of me?")

Rise up, you Catholics who love Christ and His Church, and love the faith handed down to you - at what expense! - by your forebears, and resist.

"We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5,29). The bishops are disobeying God. If we remain silent we are complicit in their disobedience. It’s time for the laity to rise up and resist.

"O Lord, do not permit my cowardly heart to tarry amid earthly things; do not permit me to divide my affection, little as it is, between You who are All and creatures who are nothing, between You, my God, and my egoism, which is nothing but sin and misery.  (Teresa of Jesus, Way of Perfection 8.)

"Oh! how I long, O Lord, for this supreme favor of

total detachment which will give me the liberty of

loving You with all my strength!"

Teresa of Jesus, Doctor of the Church

Such a beautiful flag, representing so many incredible people. Sadly the ignorant haters still exist!

Rose I agree, it is a beautiful flag, representing so many incredible people - but the ignorant haters will always exist.

Bigotted old lady ... if god hadn't wanted gays, why did he create them ... surely they are in her grand plan ...

"Male and female He created them" (Gen 1,28). Thank you, Paul, because "blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven" (Mt 5:11,12).

Paul you must know God cannot bless sinful relationships! God is holy by definition and could not condone sinful behaviour.

      Paul Young:
Then it can't be sinful because God created them didn't she ...

Bishop Long of Parramatta is shocker. His keynote address to the priests meeting in Christchurch in 2018 sent many faithful priests reeling, others priests stood and applauded. The address was a daming attack on the priesthood.

Bishop Long has overcooked it this time with his support for the gay agenda, his faithful parishioners kicked back. If the faithful kick back we can slow the mad modernists here in NZ, but we have to be prepared to stand up and do the work. Fighting a well funded Catholic church is hard when you have to do it with volunteer effort, but Parramatta did it. Good on them.

The Rosary seems to have been their chief weapon. I for one am ready to stand and pray outside the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, at any time nominated by local Catholics as being the most effective.

As it turns out God is a Ghost! A Holy Ghost. and He is well able to deal with wayward priests or bishops.

    I say:
    Or pastors.
