All dressed up with nowhere to go - Abundant Life School children

The closure of a Northland school in New Zealand last week has zero to do with children changing sex and everything to do with ousting religion from the public square. We can only expect that rebellious teens will soon dob in parents who ask that the Lord's will (as expressed in their kids' 'sex at birth') be done. So will those parents stand by their faith, or recant?

This Labour government is hunting witches they won't be able to find: a $2.2m taxpayer-funded centre set up by the Human Rights Commission for receiving complaints about ‘conversion therapy’ is twiddling its thumbs. No one has complained. Only one informal complaint has been made in 10 years.

NZ's Ministry of Justice in its Regulatory Impact Statement  was forced to admit there was little hard evidence of ‘conversion therapy’ going on. They burble about “lack of baseline data” “limited data” “no data” “no reliable data”. They relied - get this - on media reports! It's enough to make a cat laugh.

The thing is, the shrill lobbyists who want children at Abundant Life School to be free to choose genital mutilation refuse to allow those same children to ask for help in avoiding that miserable fate. Kids can choose only as long as they choose what the sodomists and their satanic global dictators choose for them: a sex life closed to the possibility of life for others.

A well-informed reader of this blog points out that the DSM (Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders).which is the tool used by psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health disorders, "moves or shifts and gets shifted according to two dimensions - public pressure (sociocultural and historical  determinants) and secondly, in line with pharmaceutical developments. Sometimes one benefits the other as in this case!"  

Another reader. who's worked up enough actually to read the Act - says "it's apparently ok to point out religious beliefs but not ok to pray over someone to influence their decision making. At what point does stating a belief become construed as praying your belief?

"It won't be long before some kid dobs in their Christian parents, and the authorities take them to court."  This will decimate NZ Christians. And the vast majority of MP's voted for the new law, and our bishops support it.

Abundant Life School: closed by religious intolerance

A Northland Christian School says it’s closing its doors after more than 30 years because of legislation that stops them from offering conversion therapy to students.

Kaitaia Abundant Life School says the new law means they can no longer operate under Christian values.

“Students that maybe (sic) experiencing unwanted feelings towards the same sex, and this is not a usual thing when we look at the development of people,” school spokesperson Ivy Tan said.

“It's not unusual to be now able to say you are not able to offer support to these students. It's horrendous.”

 By “support”, she means conversion therapy, an attempt to make someone who is gay straight.

No, she means providing spiritual assistance to confused teenagers (or children) who because of the prevailing culture promoted by the MSM think it's cool to go 'queer'.  

The practice was outlawed in New Zealand last year, with the UN calling for a global ban on conversion therapy - saying it can amount to “torture”.“LGBT persons endure severe pain and long-lasting psychological and physical damage because of so-called ‘conversion therapies’,” UN expert on sexual orientation and gender identity, Victor Madrigal-Borloz, told the Human Rights Commissioner in 2020.

Readers of this blog do not have the exalted opinion of the UN - or pf 'experts' - that is entertained by the leftist, propagandising TvOne 'News'. LGBT persons actually endure sadder lives with poorer outcomes than 'straight' persons, a fact mirrored in their suicide statistics. And don't tell us that's all because straight persons are mean to them.

“Practices of conversion therapy are rooted in the belief that persons of diverse sexual orientation and gender identity are somehow inferior, either morally, spiritually or physically because of their orientation or identity, and that they must modify that orientation or identity to remedy that inferiority," he said.

No, conversion therapy is based on belief in God who created us either male or female, and intends that we remain as he created us for fullness of life in Him in this life and eternal happiness with Him in the next. 

“We've had this in the past, so don't get me wrong, but to say now with conversion therapy not being able to offer any prayer, any counselling into how to navigate these times,” Tan said on the ban.

Anyone else get the feeling that Abundant Life School Trust chairperson Ivy Tan is presented in an unfavorable light and that her statements might have been edited to suit?

However, Minister of Education Jan Tinetti was unapologetic to the school, saying it’s their job to look after the wellbeing of all students, regardless of sexuality.

Concern for their wellbeing is exactly why the school wanted to offer conversion therapy.

“There is an expectation and has been from the word go with all governments that all schools will do their best to support all their students from all backgrounds,” she said.

Exactly. So a school doing their best is now forced to close. 

“Now that means all of our rainbow kids as well, and I'm thinking that could be part of the issue that they're leaning towards. I make no apology.”

Kiwi kids may be white, brown or possibly black. But they have only one colour each and one sex each. 

While the school has announced its plans to close down at the end of Term 2, the ministry is yet to sign off on that.

“The schools are doing it for their reasons if they're unable to accommodate looking after all the young people that are in front of them, then they're making the best decision for them,” the minister said.

Trying to put Abundant Life School in a poor light, Tinetti exhibits unusual competence in managing to do that for herself.  

There are around 200 primary and secondary students on the abundant life school (sic, no caps afforded this Christian school) roll.

Parents and former staff I spoke to wouldn't speak to 1News (why bother? - ed) but are disappointed the school is closing and will now have to send their kids to secular schools in the region, many of which are at capacity.

Northland is already disadvantaged in many ways but  the mindset of the minister appears to be 'so what?' 

The ministry has advisors to help schools work through issues like this, but the school sees no middle ground.

“I make no apologies,” Tinette (sic) said.“I have an expectation that all schools support all of their students and do know lots of special character schools, lots of Christian schools that do that really well.”

Abundant Life will continue to operate as a church and help families that are looking at home-schooling.

With state schooling so dire, it would seem that all Christian parents will nneed to front up to the challenges and rewards of home-schooling.

These bishops, by promoting heresy, are morally automatically under excommunication and have lost all authority to govern the Church.
