Prime Minister Ardern, you must resign. When you vowed and declared during your last term that you'd never allow a capital gains tax, you lied. You've extended the 'Bright Line Test' to 10 years which means, effectively, that you've introduced the capital gains tax you promised never to introduce.  You'd rather resign, you said. 

So do it.

Even a ringleader of Ardern's cheerleaders, RNZ's Tova O'Brien, calls it "the mother of all broken promises". 

O'Brien is wrong: the mother of all Ardern's broken promises must surely be her glib assurance that she's in politics "for the children", when just a year ago she rammed through the Abortion Legislation Act which has already resulted in an increase in slaughter of unborn children of more than 9 percent. We can conclude that pregnant women are now inclined to put off killing their baby in the hope that they won't have to, because they know they can do it right up till the baby is due. 

But no, Prime Minister: a tax on houses sold within 10 years of purchase is a capital gains tax, no matter what sort of silly name it goes by. John Key dreamed up the 'bright line test' to stop house buyers flicking their investment on within two years to make a quick buck. Far be it from me to compliment Key, but fair enough.

During the election campaign, Grant 'Grunt' Robertson (whose father, incidentally, was gaoled for what used to be called 'theft as a servant' of $120,000) ruled out any extension of Key's 'bright line test'. So he lied too. For the first time (as far as we know).

This socialist Government is also ending new landlords’ ability to write off the interest on their mortgages against their rental income. By 2025 this 'loophole' will be closed to all landlords. A friend commented today that she and her sister won't be buying the house they'd hoped to. So someone else is thereby denied a home and good landlords.

The ultimate intention of this socialist Government of course, is to do away with private property altogether. And as Ardern, Little&Co, Death Dealers to the Nation were voted in so massively by a proletariat petrified by COVID, what's to stop them?

And then there's the little matter of Mallard. The Speaker of our House of Representatives is also a liar. He accused a Parliamentary staffer of rape and got sued for it. Mallard had to apologise. He's cost the taxpayer $333,000 in legal fees. 

According to Court documents, he threatened to attack the reputation of the man he maligned as a rapist, months after he admits now that he knew the claim to be false. In effect he was saying, from his exalted position of power, "if you sue me I'll say I was telling the truth". Mallard is exposed now not only as a liar, but also as a bully (which is hardly news). 

And liar number one in this tatty trio of tricksters - Prime Minister Ardern - said today when confronted with Judith Collins' calls for Mallard's resignation, that she considers the matter closed. And why? Because Mallard has apologised. 

Oh, well that's all right then. A man who holds the third-highest public office in the land can be found out in a lie and bullying to boot, and cost the taxpayer $333,000, and all he must do is say 'sorry' and he's let off. 

And then there's the question of this Government's sustained, but unsustainable, lie about the Wuhan virus. COVID-19. Starting with Mass Murderess Ardern's claim a year ago that lockdown was necessary because otherwise 'tens of thousands' of  New Zealanders might die.

"If community transmission takes off in New Zealand the number of cases will double every five days. If that happens unchecked, our health system will be inundated, and tens of thousands New Zealanders will die," Ardern said, a year ago yesterday. 

That's how she got away with putting the nation under house arrest. And the proles just loved it, and voted her back into office for another three years of lies.

Or will it be four years? Watch out for her bid for a four-year term next. 

But there are indications that we're not all proles or smiling zombies; to wit the open letter below, addressed to 'our dear Doctor Bloomfield' (as a dear N O friend of mine thinks him to be), by Dr Emanuel Garcia. Dr Garcia is a psychiatrist employed by the Hutt Valley DHB. He has dual US and NZ citizenship; he's a poet and amateur theatre director.

1. Do you truly believe that it is rational to expect that this (or any other coronavirus) can actually be eliminated from the country?

2. Do you believe that the PCR test is indeed a reliable benchmark upon which to base strategies of management?

4. Are you cognizant of the enormous financial and emotional toll resulting from these various – and unpredictably executed – levels of restriction? (Personally I know a number of people who have lost jobs and businesses).

5. Why are you and the Ministry not promoting therapeutics (hydroxycholoquine/zinc/azithromycin) and preventatives (vitamins D, C, zinc, HCQ too), along with healthy outdoors exercise and socialisation?

While I am very happy that masks – which do not prevent or protect against virions that can easily pass through their fabric, masks which tend to make people who wear them hypoxic – have not been mandated, nonetheless I find that the directives for public transport are in fact patently absurd.

I hope furthermore that as a physician you understand the distinction between sickness and health insofar that a person who tests ‘positive’ for COVID is not to be presumed ill unless he or she actually has symptoms – that in fact there is a vast distinction between healthy ‘carriers’ and those who are ill.  We used to say during my medical education that one should treat the patient – not the numbers. I think you know what this means.

Given that somewhere someday someone will ALWAYS be testing positive for COVID, if tested, will we therefore be held hostage to snap lockdowns and draconian restrictions forever? Is this not absurd? Is this not actually insane?

Would not a rational approach embrace the fact that the only way to live with infectious viruses, like influenza, is to protect the vulnerable (elderly, those with multiple comorbidities) through hygiene and brief self-imposed isolation (staying home rather than going to work), treat those who become ill as well as we can, and to allow the public to develop GENERAL IMMUNITY?

As a psychiatrist I probably should mention the profound effects of fear, uncertainty, economic liability and the like: our referrals in the Hutt Valley are through the roof since the big lockdown last year.

Now, someone commented that such referrals increased markedly after the big Wellington earthquake. But people realise that earthquakes are inevitable. They are an "act of God". A lockdown is not inevitable; it's an act of stupidity. .

New Zealand, little and far-away as our country may be, has been a pioneer and has gone against the worldwide grain – for example with respect to women’s suffrage, and nuclear arms and energy. I hope in this instance of an oppressively blunt and globally brutal response to a virus, we can be pioneers yet again – of real science, and of the protection of human liberty.

THE WOKE POPE, HIS GREAT RESET AND HIS ONE WORLD RELIGION

"I'm so angry with this 'Pope'," said a Latin Massgoer in Napier yesterday evening, "that I can hardly speak."

He was trying to express his fury over Jorge Bergoglio's ultimate betrayal of the unborn by exerting his supposed moral force as Pontiff to foist a vaccine which was developed, demonically, from babies slaughtered by abortion, on faithful Catholics worldwide.

It sounds unreal, and it is unreal.  Welcom - still stumbing along in the dark, we see - proclaims Bergoglio in his Ash Wednesday homily as telling the faithful that to embark on the journey of Lent "we have to unmask illusions". 

The first illusion to be unmasked might be that the Church Bergoglio leads is the Catholic Church. It's not, any more. 

Bergoglio's Church is a faux Church, a farce, a hoax perpetrated on souls softened up by 70 years of Novus Ordo inanities, by modernist bishops and priests (among whom are numbered most of New Zealand's) - and subterraneously, in the horrible nether regions he inhabits, and nefariously in our souls, by Satan who persuades us all to sin.

"It is impossible for those who have been once enlightened, and have tasted the Heavenly Gift, and of the good Word of God, and of the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to be renewed again to repentance." (Heb. 6:4-6). All those who, having had full light and knowledge of God in His revelation, turn from it with their eyes open — of whom St. John says, "They went out from us, because they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us" (1 John 2:19) — those who so sin, sin unto death, and are left to the judgment of God.

When did we Novus Ordo Massgoers last hear the truth spoken as it was once by churchmen like Cardinal Manning? Seventy years of being lulled into a sense of false security by the soothing texts of the New Mass, and by bishops and priests who've been persuaded likewise, we've come to regard the Church as a nice club we go to on Sunday. And heaven as a nice place we go to when we die. 

That terrible self-deceit is one thing. To have the man the world calls the Pope magnify the evil of a latter-day slaughter of the innocents - 500,000+ in NZ since 1977 - by recommending its deployment in the manufacture of a vaccine which supposedly will save our miserable lives, is another. The horror of it defies description. 

And now this:

ROME — Pope Francis insists in a new book things will never be the same in a post-pandemic world, calling instead for the establishment of a “new world order.”

Bergoglio has dropped his own, personal mask of illusion. He's quite frankly dreaming of A Great Reset - which will undoubtedly require A Great Religion, and A Great Religion - long since identified as the 150-year old Masonic dream - is The One World Religion -

- with none other than 'His Holiness' himself installed as its Glorious Leader. 

In God and the World to Come, scheduled for release in Italian on Tuesday, the pontiff reiterates his case for the Great Reset with a shift away from financial speculation, fossil fuels, and military build-up toward a green economy based on inclusiveness.

After the coronavirus pandemic, “the world will never be the same again. But it is precisely within this calamity that we must grasp those signs which may prove to be the cornerstones of reconstruction.”

“There is something worse than this crisis: the drama of wasting it,” he states. “We cannot emerge from a crisis the same as before: we either come out better or we come out worse.”

DELINGPOLE: "The Great Reset is real, it’s happening now and will lead to devastation worse — “much, much worse” — than the Weimar Republic, a German economist has warned."

... We can heal injustice “by building a new world order based on solidarity, studying innovative methods to eradicate bullying, poverty and corruption."

What was wrong, your Holiness, with the old world order of Christendom and its traditional methods, which prohibited the greatest injustice - abortion, which you conspicuously fail to mention? And did you forget to mention LGBTQI+? 

This new world order will attend to the environment, the pope affirms.

How, your Holiness, can you pretend to be Catholic while recommending an 'order' based on anything but Jesus Christ?  

“We can no longer blithely accept inequalities and disruptions to the environment,” he declares.

Inequalities and disruptions which result from failure to teach and live the Lord Jesus Christ. 

“The path to humanity’s salvation passes through the creation of a new model of development ...”

And there were we Catholics believing that the path to salvation is Jesus Christ.

“If we don’t roll up our sleeves and immediately take care of the Earth, ... sooner or later our common home will throw us out the window,” he insists.

If you, your Holiness, do not roll up your sleeves and immediately take care of our souls, sooner or later our common home will be Hell.   

The pope also asserts his conviction the world needs to be healed from “the dominant speculative mentality” to be re-established “with a ‘soul’” in order to reduce the gap between those who have access to credit and those who do not.

It's the Catholic Church, your Holiness, which needs to supply the world with a soul. 

Christians and people of good will should choose which enterprises to support based on four criteria, Francis proposes, namely: “inclusion of the excluded, promotion of the least, the common good, and care of Creation.”

Oh, he's the Pope of Woke. 

 

The Great Reset' is upon us. French President Macron declared that in the wake of the Chinese coronavirus modern capitalism "can no longer work" at the Davos summit.

“It is time to remove social injustice and marginalization,” he states. “If we seize the current trial as an opportunity, we can prepare for tomorrow under the banner of human fraternity', to which there is no alternative, because without an overall vision there will be no future for anyone.”

"Under the banner of human fraternity" - the banner, that is, of the Freemasons, who exist only to abolish Christianity in general and the Catholic Church in particular..

Part of the Great Reset also entails an end to manufacture and traffic in arms, expending huge amounts of capital which should be used to treat people and save lives.”

Treat people and save lives with your vicious vaccine, your Holiness? Making money for Big Pharma instead of encouraging natural immunity, good diet and common sense, you mean? 

“Against this planetary discord that is nipping the future of humanity in the bud, we need political action that is the fruit of international harmony,” he declares, urging for an end to “short-sighted nationalism”...

Patriots of the world unite, against this mendacity!

The outlook for the so-called Catholic Church, misguided and misled as it is under the faux pope Bergoglio, is certainly bleak. But a Dutch prelate known for faithfulness to the Gospel, Bishop Robert Mutsaerts, has a message of hope. He stresses that the solution lies in a "reset, but a reset of a totally different kind."

"The Catholic Church in the West is rapidly decreasing. Is that bad? Yes, it is. But if this is the Church which is now manifesting itself, the sooner she evaporates the better," he opined.

Mutsaerts elaborated:

It's better to restart like the young Church started instead of muddling along as we've done for over half a century. It's only driven us from Christ. The Church's future will depend on saints as has always been the case. She will survive for sure as always. She will be small. She will be a Church based on personal commitment.

 

The bishop described how the reset Church would "put the sacred central — not the environment, inclusive capitalism or false ecumenism that seems to say that it doesn't really matter what you believe or who you put your trust in as long as we call each other brothers and sisters."

"No, I do not promote an exclusive Church: What I do plead for is back to basics," Mutsaerts added, calling for "a temporary withdrawal in order to resource in order to come back stronger."

The angry Latin Massgoer in Napier last night did manage to speak, in connection with Bergoglio and his evil vaccine, of a quote from Dostoevsky, one familiar to me from my reading many years ago of The Brothers Karamazov and which had drifted past me somehow, somewhere, in the last few weeks:

WE'RE NOT BARBARIANS SO REPEAL ARDERN'S BARBARIC LAW

Abolish abortion! Lose the law! Sign the petition! 

On Wednesday night I was at a demo at Parliament. Again. Talk about déjà vu. 

Voice for Life's 'Call for Justice' was a something of a fiasco. The line-up of speakers were what you'd loosely term Pentecostal pastors, except for lay Catholic Brendan Malone, Agnes Guevara who sang her own beautiful song, and a very eloquent teenage Abby Lim and Dr Ate Moala - who both sounded like Pentecostal pastors too. 

A hundred people turned up. 

Louisa Walls, Terry Bellamak and the rest of the baby-killing coven would have been crowing. And the Catholic bishops of what they themselves (and the aforementioned) like to call Aotearoa should have hung their heads in shame. A well-known commentator, who shall remain nameless, said it was appalling: "There should have been thousands."  

The demo marked the first anniversary of the most evil law ever in New Zealand history: the iniquitous Abortion Legislation Act, manufactured by Ardern, Little&Co, Death Dealers to the Nation.

The ALA (short, incidentally, also for alas and alack) was smuggled past the overwhelming majority of voters in the Trojan horse of 'Lockdown'. Literally scared witless at the time, by the panic whipped up by Ardern, Little &Co over the bogy of COVID-19, they never even noticed. 

And because Ardern, Little&Co have paid the mainstream media $50 million in subsidies, ostensibly 'to help them survive COVID' but in fact to survive the con job Ardern, Little&Co manufactured out of COVID, the msm have obliged this miserable MsGovernment by keeping their mouths shut. So that the overwhelming majority of voters still know almost nothing about it.

Last night I was with a bunch of NO Catholics, celebrating St Joseph's Day with Mass followed by dinner at a local cafe. (Many Catholics I hope, would have celebrated with Stations of the Cross followed by Mass, but in this parish the Stations came to a standstill years ago.) The women I spoke to either knew next to nothing about the ALA, or they weren't going to admit to knowing. 

They're following the lead of priests and bishops who've stayed shtum on abortion, refusing to preach on its moral, mental and emotional after-effects because it's Not Nice, condemning by their ignorance many more women to the abortion mills, and many more babies to landfills: to wit, a nine percent increase in abortion in the first four months after ALA's passing! 

Public statements made by NZ's bishops on the subject have been so weak they could hardly stagger onto the internet. A notable exception is Bishop Stephen Lowe, who last Sunday made the powerful physical statement of marching for Life in Hamilton. What a tremendous fillip to pro-lifers and Catholics generally, in the Waikato, to see their bishop stand and march for what their Church believes and teaches.

"Call for Justice", marking ALA's first anniversary, should have been advertised in every Christian church newsletter in the country, and preached by every priest and pastor. Incredibly, right next door to the scene of the crime at Parliament is Sacred Heart Cathedral, whose website had nothing to say about it.

A perceptive reader of this blog comments: "The church leaders shown (in the pic) with one exception are men. The secular political leaders they are meeting are all women. One end of the table has all the power, the other end a once powerful moral force now in its political twilight (till Christ returns). The photo marks an important transition in gender and political reality. 

"When Dew offered his churches (Christ's churches!?) for vaccinations, I wonder if the power end of the table thought 'we will use them for abortions if we so choose'."

Only streets away from the scene of the crime is St Mary of the Angels, whose newsletter for the preceding Sunday gave no notice of the "Call for Justice" demo either. But it found room for a COVID-19 ad, restricting Communion to the blasphemous post-Vat2 mode of 'on the hand'. And sure enough, when I knelt to receive yesterday a modernist Marist denied me that right - although the day before a visiting priest (I suppose it was), who said Mass so beautifully I didn't miss my Latin missal, had obliged and I received.

Since the passing (virtually unseen) of the Abortion Legislation Act not only has there been a 9% increase in abortions but midwives are now being trained in 2nd- and 3rd-trimester abortions. 

In other words, instead of bringing babies to birth, as midwives do and always have done, as their raison d'etre, now they're being taught to bring them to death. What type of girl or woman will want to commit murder by midwifery? In at least one District Health Board area all nurses are now being offered training in second-trimester abortions, the inference being that because of a predictable shortage of midwives, the catchment area has to be extended.

Under the tutelage of Death-Dealer Andrew Little masquerading as Minister of Health, his Associate Minister Dr Ayesha Verrall is zeroing in on 'accessible abortion services' (read 'more abortions') for Māori, Pacific and disabled people. Doesn't this smack ever-so-slightly of the Third Reich and Dr Mengele? Potential providers of such dubious 'services', says Dr Verrall, will be evaluated on their ability to partner with Māori/iwi, youth, community and school-based workers and groups. 

Whoever said Black Lives Matter?

The babykillers, led by US import idealogue Terry Bellamak of the Abortion Law Reform Association in an unholy alliance with Ardern&Little's attack cat Louisa Walls, are trying their damnedest to take away Kiwis' right to stand on a public footpath and speak in kindness to sad and desperate pregnant women, to offer them practical alternatives such as adoption. 

Walls' bill, a private member's bill in name but in reality operating as a government bill, as described in my post on this blog -  https://juliadufresne.blogspot.com/2021/03/lies-from-louise-lies-from-alranz-truth.html  -seeks to make it illegal to offer women any alternative - but only at certain times and in certain places. Like 150 metres from any so-called hospital, clinic or any abortion mill (this MsGovernment is creating more babykilling spaces), during the hours of babies' brutal dismembered or injection with poison (as in the photo above) with no anaesthetic and no treatment required if they survive the murder attempt.

But, ahem, this is the thing: how is an innocent, law-abiding citizen strolling down the street expected to know just when and where they'd be breaking the law if they happened to 'communicate' an opinion about abortion? 

Hospital Boards will need these

Baby-killing days and hours vary. So the onus will have to be on the district council - or whoever it is that erects the 50k signs - to put up notices indicating just where the 150 metres demanded by Walls for her so-called 'safe zones' (actually lethal zones of course, for the babies) start and finish, and just when the dirty work of abortion starts and finishes. 

Prayer vigil people could display signs like the one pictured, and if the poor old cops are called, point out that they're simply warning people to obey the law. 

I'm indebted to a couple of wits among the PN Diocese Rad Trads for this brilliant lateral thinking - which could be taken up by way of amendments to ruin Wall's unsafe 'safe zones' proposal.

Other signs might be DON'T MENTION ABORTION! Or DON'T MENTION ADOPTION! (in the eyes of Ardern&Co, Dealers in Death, Derogation and Discrimination, 'adoption' could legally be construed in these circumstances as an opinion on abortion, surely.) And any signs would have to stipulate the hours and days when abortion and adoption are not to be mentioned.

You can't be prosecuted for speeding if there's no sign telling you what's the speed limit. So how can anyone be prosecuted for 'communicating an opinion about abortion' on a public footpath if there's no indication of the risk? How can law-abiding citizens 'stay safe', Jacinda Stalinda, in this hazardous situation if there's nothing to warn them of the danger of criminal convictions for shooting their mouths off inadvertently? 

Perhaps we can look forward to the equivalent of road cones (just what we need, more road cones) being put out on killing days to demarcate the no-free-speech zones, and put away again after. But blood-red would be more appropriate than rescue orange. 

Preposterous as it sounds, this is the New Zealand that Ardern&Little, Death Dealers to the Nation, are designing for us to live in. 

And 100 people turned up to object to all of this murder and mayhem. 100. 

Was that because it was Pentecostals, by and large, who figured in the Voice for Life 'Call for Justice' line-up that night? Voice for Life isn't Pentecostal. It's pro-life and largely Christian, but you don't have to be a Christian to see what's wrong with killing babies, legally, at a rate in New Zealand currently of 35 per day.  35 long-stemmed red roses were proffered by a pre-selected 35 of the 100 attending, with beautifully inscribed notes attached such as 'not forgotten' and 'treasure', and laid on the steps of Parliament. 

It was a lovely idea, but preaching to the converted perhaps, given that there was no chance of the msm giving 'Call for Justice' as much as one inch of column space, let alone a pretty picture of rosebuds. 

You don't have to be Christian to defend the right to life; pro-lifers may be Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, agnostic or even atheistic. A prayer meeting of Pentecostals is super for Pentecostals but it's not going to pull in the punters. It might even cause Voice for Life to lose members.

ABOLISH ABORTION, LOSE THE LAW is a big, big, clarion call. A call for conversion of the whole nation; a call basically to the Churches, especially the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church to mind their own business of preaching the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the Gospel, "in season and out of season, whether the time is right or not" - of saving souls, especially by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Rosary.

The Catholic Church post-Vat2 has bored its people to tears with 'social justice' seminars but seems not to realise that as St Augustine, St Thomas Aquinas and Martin Luther King have all insisted, "an unjust law is no law at all". 

The Church should promote Voice for Life's petition -https://www.voiceforlife.org.nz/petition - for repeal of this infamous law with all her might. In fact if our bishops and priests wish to undo the harm to which they have contributed by their silence, and improve their chances of eternal life, they MUST promote it.

It's not generally recognised that an orphan need lack only one parent. It would seem that many, if not most, of the babies slaughtered by legal abortion lack a father, or at least lack a father in the proper, moral sense of the word. 

This morning's Divine Office brings to our attention a favorite reading for the social justice promoters, one which would reward re-reading in the light of that injustice so scrupulously avoided by the aforementioned - the hideous injustice done to these little orphans of God:

Wash yourselves, be clean, take away the evil of your devices from my eyes: cease to do perversely,

 Learn to do well: seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge for the fatherless, defend the widow.

 And then come, and accuse me, saith the Lord: if your sins be as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow: and if they be red as crimson, they shall be white as wool: Is 1:16-18.

Kind ol' Uncle Joe Biden is considering allowing Americans to celebrate their Independence Day. 

He reckons there's a "good chance" they'll get to party up it if "we do our part" to end the COVID-19 pandemic. So a more-than-average bad seasonal flu could put a stop to their fireworks and barbies. Again. Like it did last year.

"Look, we know what we need to do to beat this virus,” said kind ol' Uncle Joe. "Tell the truth." 

Now who does he remind you of? He stopped short of telling Amurricans to nark on one another, but goodness me, Joe Biden and Jacinda Ardern are two hearts that beat as one.

Put trust and faith in our government to fulfill its most important function, which is protecting the American people — no function more important. We need to remember the government isn’t some foreign force in a distant capital. No, it’s us. Biden has created a White House Gender Policy Council to "combat systemic biases and discrimination” and “support gender equity and combat gender stereotypes in education,  “increase access to comprehensive health care (aka contraception and abortion), address health disparities, and promote sexual and reproductive health and rights” (more contraception and abortion.)

The US Department of Education has been executively ordered by Biden to ensure gender-confused males can burst in on real girls and women in their locker rooms and toilets. 

He's taking a leaf out of Ardern's book here: in New Zealand schools unisex loos are all the go. Way back in 2016 a certain school led the way by installing a separate toilet specially for one, six-year old 'transgender' pupil. You can bet that school won the 'Rainbow Tick' that  Auckland Grammar went for also by building unisex loos two years later.

'Rainbow Tick'. Sounds like a gaudy, but nasty, little insect. But anyway on the transgender front our own 'kind' mass murderess Ardern would be justified in saying to Joe, "do try to keep up."

Moving right along, we see that Joe Biden has reintroduced the horrendous Obama-era policy which permits biological boys to compete in girls’ sports. So, an end we may suppose, to girls' sports in the States.

And he's nominated the first openly transgender person to be confirmed to a federal appointment by the US Senate. Dr. Rachel Levine, as this person has chosen to be known, is to be the assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. God only knows where Dr Rachel will take her department, but we can guess.

So in view of all the above, should we actually pray for the day that Kamala hangs her new curtains in the Oval office at the White House? Yeah, as they say, nah.

Joe Biden - for all or any of the above - is the most famous Catholic sinner in the States. In the world. He's famous also, at least among Catholics, for quoting St Augustine and hymns in his speeches, and carrying around a rosary that belonged to his son Beau (much good may it do him). 

But he's welcomed by his Archbishop in Washington DC, Wilton Gregory, the first black archbishop in the States, at "any church in my diocese". He means, at Holy Communion although Biden's public sinning absolutely bars him from receiving the Eucharist.

Bishop Charles Chaput, the recently retired bishop of Philadelphia, says Biden is "not in full communion with the Catholic Church." He has criticised his fellow bishops for speaking out in support of giving Biden communion. 

“When bishops publicly announce their willingness to give Communion to Mr. Biden," he wrote, "without clearly teaching the gravity of his facilitating the evil of abortion (and his approval of same-sex relationships), they do a serious disservice to their brother bishops and their people. Catholics are taught to receive communion only if they are in good standing and without sin, but a more specific rule instructing pastors to refuse communion to politicians who support abortion rights was added to canon law in 2004.”

The remarks of Bishop Athanasius Schneider, Auxiliary Bishop of Kazkhstan, seem pertinent. He points to a desire among Catholics - lay people like Biden, priests like Father Kevin Gillespie at Holy Trinity Church where Biden receives Communion, and bishops like +Wilton Gregory who would allow that to happen - "a desire to speak as the world likes, or to speak in order to win the world's sympathy, or not to be marginalised or persecuted by the world. reveals itself  indeed as an inferiority complex. 

"My greatest concern about the Church today is the fact that on a large scale there is a process — already started with the Second Vatican Council — of a “conformation to the world,” against which the apostles and the Fathers of the Church have already warned: “Do not be conformed to this world” (Romans 12:2). There is, since the Second Vatican Council, a clearly articulated tendency to please the world. When clergy start to please the world, they are in danger of becoming false prophets, of which St. John the Apostle spoke: 

"They belong to the world; accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them.” (1 John 4:5).
