SSPX ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW YOUNG BISHOPS

To comment please open your gmail account or use my email address, FB Messenger or X.

Today the Society of St Pius X (SSPX) announced the names of four priests who will be consecrated as bishops on July 1 - with or without a mandate from 'Pope Leo XIV' and the preposterous Cardinal Tucho Fernandez, who masquerades as Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith for the conciliar church.

The Catholic Church can breathe a collective sigh of relief. The faithful will pray for these courageous men, hoping their consecrations may mean they can practise the Catholic faith again freely, rather than the modernist, globalist, worldly new world religion foisted on them for the past 60 years. Because compared with the Boomer Bishops of the Novus Ordo these men are young. We can expect them to serve Christ by saving souls through baptisms, confirmations and priestly ordinations for the next four decades.

Father Pascal Schreiber (53) is Swiss. Father Michael Goldade (945) is American. Father Michel Poinsinet de Sivry (42) and Father Marc Hanappier (36) are French. (The French emphasis is of course due to their Society's saintly founder, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.) They all were blessed by God with generous, faithful parents and large families who will inevitably influence their ministry throughout the world, counteracting its suicidal, statistical head-long rush to extinction.

In 1988, when +Lefebvre consecrated the original four without papal mandate, the Society had 202 priests. By July 1 there will be 750, widely recognised by the Latin Massgoers who hear their sermons as better qualified, better formed and simply better priests than 98% of our current shepherds. Because as Francis/Bergoglio himself stated, "the problem in the Vatican and seminaries is too many froccigianni." The Society of St Pius X has its own seminaries, modelled on Écône in Switzerland which was founded by +Lefebvre himself. They are uncontaminated by the sodomites who infect and infest conciliar seminarians.

For their 750 priests the Society has only two aging bishops. Imagine the effect on the Church at large of four more true shepherds.

"To be publicly associated with this sanction [excommunication] which is inflicted upon the six Catholic Bishops, Defenders of the Faith in its integrity and wholeness, would be for us a mark of honor and a sign of orthodoxy before the faithful", stated the Society's District Superiors and leaders, in 1988.

Now in 2026 Superior General Fr Davide Pagliarani declares that, "If we come to be declared excommunicated and schismatic, "this would not mean that we seek such a sanction or rejoice in it, for it would be objectively unjust."

Objectively unjust condemnation of the innocent, especially when one considers the hypocrisy of those who threaten the Society: Leo XIV, whose ponderous new encyclical Magnifica Humanitas glorifies God's creation rather than the Creator, and the grotesque Cardinal Fernandez, whose retainment as Prefect of the DDF surely raises the question of his having some hold over some party (or parties) in the conciliar Vatican.

In their legalistic bluster and threats of excommunication these men call to mind the Pharisees rebuked by Jesus Christ:

"Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him:
How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the loaves of proposition, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for them that were with him, but for the priests only?

"Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple break the sabbath, and are without blame?
But I tell you that there is here a greater than the temple.
And if you knew what this meaneth: I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: you would never have condemned the innocent."(Mt 12:3-7)

The General House of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) has announced that four priests will be consecrated as bishops on July 1, 2026, at Écône, Switzerland.

The announcement was made earlier, May 26, by Father Davide Pagliarani, Superior General of the SSPX.

According to the communiqué, the names and dossiers of the selected priests were presented to the Pope in a spirit of respect for the authority of the Catholic Church. The SSPX emphasized that the consecrations are not intended to create a parallel authority within the Church or challenge the authority of the Pope. Instead, the purpose is to ensure the continuation of traditional Catholic sacraments and rites during what the Society describes as a crisis of faith.

The four priests chosen for episcopal consecration are:

  • Father Pascal Schreiber of Switzerland, rector of the Herz Jesu Seminary in Zaitzkofen, Germany.

  • Father Michael Goldade of the United States, rector of Saint Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Virginia.

  • Father Michel Poinsinet de Sivry of France, currently Superior of the Benelux District.

  • Father Marc Hanappier of France, professor of theology at the seminary in Dillwyn, Virginia.

Each priest has extensive experience in education, seminary formation, and pastoral ministry within the SSPX.

The Society stated that the future bishops will primarily serve by administering the sacraments of Holy Orders and Confirmation according to the traditional Roman rite. The communiqué reaffirmed the SSPX’s commitment to preserving and transmitting traditional Catholic teaching and practice.

Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour and Redeemer, we pray for the bishops who will offer the Sacrifice of Calvary in the Holy Mass

  1. As confirmed by Pope Benedict, all SSPX priests are suspended a divinis and after 1 July will have no faculties to hear confessions or to officiate at marriages. Bishop Fellay has stated that they will lose some priests and laity once excommunicated. I am praying the SSPX does not go ahead with the consecration.

    1. Janet, I'm pretty sure that if you check your sources you'll find Pope Benedict is dead.

    2. Although yes, Pope Benedict is deceased, as he stated, the SSPX priests are all suspended a divinis under Canon Law. As an explanation for you, Julia. Pope Benedict confirmed that the lifting of the excommunication of the four bishops hand no effect on SSPX priests who have no standing under Canon law.

  4. Roni Aledo Of course he does. He has militated for a long time that Catholics should all follow the VCII and its post VCII popes and go to hell together.

  5. Greg Ryan Number 3 is one of the most terrible doctrinal errors of SSPX and all Ultra Traditionalists:
    --Cardinal A. Ottaviani
SACRED CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH, Circular Letter to the Presidents of Episcopal Conferences (July 24, 1966):
Since the recent successful conclusion of the SECOND Vatican Ecumenical Council, many wise Documents have been promulgated, both in doctrinal and disciplinary matters, in order to efficaciously promote the life of the Church.
All of the people of God are bound by the GRAVE DUTY to strive with all diligence to put into effect all that has been SOLEMNLY proposed or decreed, under the influence of the HOLY SPIRIT, by the universal assembly of the bishops presided over by the Supreme Pontiff.
It is the right and duty of the Hierarchy to monitor, guide, and promote the movement of renewal begun by the Council, so that the conciliar Documents and Decrees are properly interpreted and implemented with the utmost fidelity to their merit and their spirit.
This doctrine, in fact, must be defended by the bishops, since they, with Peter as their Head, have the duty to teach with authority.
Many Pastors have admirably already begun to explain the relevance of the doctrine of the Council.
Nevertheless, it must be acknowledged with sorrow that unfortunate news has been reported from various areas about abuses regarding the INTERPRETATION of the conciliar doctrine that are taking hold, as well as some brazen opinions circulating here and there causing great disturbance among the faithful.
The studies and efforts to investigate the truth more profoundly are praiseworthy, especially when distinguishing honestly between that which is central to the faith and that which is open to opinion. But some of the documents examined by this Sacred Congregation contain affirmations which easily go beyond the limits of hypothesis or simple opinion, appearing to raise certain questions regarding the dogmas and fundamentals of the faith.
It is worthwhile to draw attention to some examples of these opinions and errors that have arisen both from the reports of competent persons and in published writings.
    1) First of all regarding Sacred Revelation itself: There are some, in fact, who appeal to Sacred Scripture while deliberately leaving aside Tradition. But they then restrict the role and the strength of biblical inspiration and its inerrancy, abandoning a just notion of the true value of the historical texts.
    2) In regards to the doctrine of the faith, some affirm that dogmatic formulas are subject to historical evolution even to the point that their objective meaning is susceptible to change.
    3) The ORDINARY Magisterium of the Church, particularly that of the Roman Pontiff, is sometimes NEGLECTED and DIMINISHED, until it is relegated almost to the sphere of a mere opinion.

  7. Julia du Fresne...do all these people know that you attend the Novus Ordo?
Talk about a complete disjointed mental break...putting the Pope's name in quotes, blasting the Novus Ordo as a fake Ape of the Church, constantly judging the Roman See and its bishops, calling Leo an idolater in his newest encyclical, telling everyone that all the Cardinals are fake and "masquerading", and all along.....YOU ATTEND THE NOVUS ORDO.
I wonder if you know how illogical and idiotic that is? You go to a Church you believe is a false Ape of the somehow hidden "real church".

    1. Greg Ryan for the sake of other FB readers, and readers of my blog Canto Fermo, I'll simply state that I attend the Novus Ordo to receive Our Lord in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. Because the nearest Latin Mass is 3 hours' drive away, and then only on Sunday.
I take my Latin Mass missal and follow its texts throughout.

    2. Yes, strange that she attends the Novus Ordo Mass that she claims is invalid.

    3. I attend the NO because I need the Sacrament of the Eucharist and the nearest Latin Mass is 3 hours' drive away, and then only on Sundays. I take my Latin Mass missal and ignore the NO proceedings except for the Consecration and the priest's blessing.

    1. Pope Benedict is telling you he's dead? Pope Benedict who fled from the wolves in the Vatican, attempted and failed to resign the papacy, and bequeathed to the Church the two antipopes Bergoglio and Prevost? That Pope Benedict?

    2. No, for some reason you told me Pope Benedict was dead, Julia. Maybe you have forgotten your earlier comment "Janet, I'm pretty sure that if you check your sources you'll find Pope Benedict is dead". Maybe you think that papal pronouncements die with the Pope. Perhaps that's what you were trying to say. However, it is canon law that states that those priests ordained illicitly have no standing under canon law. Therefore, their Masses are illicit and every time they offer Mass they in fact commit a mortal sin. Under the old canon law their ordinations would be invalid. So the new canon law in fact grants them a favour of being validly but illicitly ordained.

    3. After denying she ever calls the pope antipopes the heretic Julia du Frenze (sic) states: "Pope Benedict who fled from the wolves in the Vatican, attempted and failed to resign the papacy, and bequeathed to the Church the two antipopes Bergoglio and Prevost? That Pope Benedict?" Almost as bad as her mentor Ann Barnhardt who states “This website, despite its many flaws, not the least of which is my use of foul language, is a vector by which the Holy Ghost is converting and reverting people to the Church.” As if the Holy Ghost would use a website with foul language to convert and revert people to the Church. These heretics are simply crazy.

    4. 'Julia du Frenze (sic)' ? Janet, please explain.
Ann Barnardt is saying the Holy Ghost uses her website, not her foul language.
