| Mawkish murder: the US peddling the lie Ardern told to NZ |
"Children are dying in our country by homicide," says New Zealand's Children's Commissioner, Dr Claire Achmad. We beg her pardon? Say it out loud, why don't you? Children are MURDERED in our country. In more ways than one. Routinely as well as randomly.
And then just to sock it to us proper like, Dr Achmad says, "We can't let it happen anymore." And how are we going to stop it happening? Why, by all the grown-ups writing endangered children a warm fuzzy letter telling them they "have a right to be safe". Oh, that'll fix it, you bet.
For crying out loud. This woman, this Dr Achmad, has an annual budget of $11.5 million to spend and 36 full time staff - 83 percent female, three-quarters earning in excess of $100,000 - and this facile, hypocritical notion is the best they can propose to prevent the brutal murder of (mostly Maori) children, mostly by their single mothers' boyfriends, and the omerta, the Mafia-style silence of their whanau protecting the brutes responsible. Really???
And to be consistent, what does the Children's Commissioner and her bloated office intend to do about the thousands of unborn children ritually slaughtered in New Zealand by abortion? Or the children who even the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA) now admit have been killed by a vaccine that the NZ 'Health' service are still flogging off to a gullible public?
You know, night follows day. When a country legally destroys its unseen, unborn citizens, it destroys respect for the lives of those who survive the womb too.
| Unbelievable |
From Dr Achmad at the Children's Commissioner's office:
“The reality is that children – often very young children – are dying in our country by homicide. We can’t let it happen anymore.”
That’s the stark message shared today by Children’s Commissioner Dr Claire Achmad, as she launches a nationwide advocacy campaign focused on preventing all forms of child maltreatment (physical, sexual, emotional abuse, exposure to domestic violence, and neglect).
The Dear Children campaign brings focus, urgency, and collective responsibility to what she says is a problem we can and must solve as a nation. Its launch, ahead of the summer holidays, is intentional.
“Tragically, last summer holidays, two children were killed by homicide. Going into this time of year, I want New Zealanders to be aware that child abuse is a problem in our country, and to commit to looking out for children.”
Despite decades of attention, many cases of child harm go unreported or unaddressed often due to systemic gaps, stigma, a lack of support for families and parents, and people looking away. International data from 2023 showed New Zealand had one of the highest rates of deaths of children under five compared with similar countries, about three times higher than Australia.
At the heart of the campaign is a letter the Children’s Commissioner has written directly to our nation’s 1.23 million children, in which she affirms ‘you have the right to be safe.’ To the adults reading, she’s saying ‘A child’s right to safety is something we adults should protect fiercely – and I’m asking you to play your part.’
“My request of all adults in our country is to sign this letter alongside me. Together, let’s send children a crystal clear message: they are precious to us and we will do better by them, so they are all growing up safe.
“Join me in creating a ripple effect of real change. Please visit dearchildren.co.nz to sign the letter alongside me, share it with your community and reflect on the things, small and large, that you can do to play your part in keeping our nation’s children safe, well and thriving. Let’s show New Zealand’s children we won’t accept any of them being harmed anymore.”

From Lindsay Mitchell, writing for Bassett Brash and Hide:
Do you ever wonder what the Office of the Children's Commissioner - with an annual budget of $11.5 million and 36 full time staff (83 percent female with three quarters earning in excess of $100,000) - does? Well, wonder no more.
Two days ago they launched an advocacy campaign titled "Dear Children" which lays out New Zealand's internationally elevated rates of child neglect, abuse and murder, and asks adult members of the public to demonstrate their care and concern by signing a letter to all children affirming "you have the right to be safe."
Claire Achmad, Children's Commissioner says,
“My request of all adults in our country is to sign this letter alongside me. Together, let’s send children a crystal clear message: they are precious to us and we will do better by them, so they are all growing up safe. Join me in creating a ripple effect of real change.

I won't. Because doing so is utterly meaningless. It is no more than virtue signalling.
Clearly I am not alone in being unmoved by this piece of theater. Two days in, after the media-hyped launch, there are only 1,300 signatures (at 4pm December 10), mostly females going by the first names that scroll across the page.
It's kind of comical and it's kind of tragic.

Because there are real actions that governments could adopt if they were deadly serious about protection of children. A prime example was blocked by Minister Anne Tolley in 2015.
Auckland University of Technology had created a predictive risk model. They needed to conduct a study to test the data with an eventual aim of putting the model to practical use. But it all became politically fraught and ground to a halt. The pioneer of this work has gone on to the United States. According to Eric Crampton of the NZ Initiative, who recently interviewed Professor Rhema Vaithianathan:
"In the US, this approach worked to substantially reduce child hospitalisation. It could be done in New Zealand as well. In fact, the work started here. But New Zealand’s politics and public service has a very difficult time with new approaches. American localism means that one innovative county can try it out, and demonstrate the benefits to others."
I recently wrote about the work Treasury has also done in identifying children at risk by known factors. We mere mortals can picture the adult histories and households that bring newborns into precarious environments BUT officials have the confirming data. Is it acted on? No.
Here's an archaic idea. Back when children born to unmarried mothers were quite rare, child welfare officers would keep an eye on them. Specifically, "The Child Welfare Act 1925 requires that all ex-nuptial births be notified to a social worker so that inquiries can be made concerning the circumstances of each mother and child for the purposes of offering advice and assistance."
This practice continued until the late 1960s.
Today such intrusion would be snorted at. But the same people who snort will probably sign the silly letter.bassettbrashandhide.com/post/lindsay-mitchell-hollow-gesture-replaces-real-action?utm_ca
From the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA):
The Food and Drug Administration's top overseer of vaccine policy on Friday told employees that at least 10 American children died "after and because of receiving" a Covid-19 vaccine.
In a 3,000-word memorandum first reported by PBS, Dr. Vinay Prasad, director of the FDA's vaccine division, also committed to implementing changes to the FDA's evaluation of vaccine efficacy and safety, and encouraged dissenting employees to find a new job.
“This is a profound revelation,” Prasad wrote. “For the first time, the US FDA will acknowledge that COVID-19 vaccines have killed American children.” Prasad said the conclusion about children dying from Covid-19 vaccines was reached after he and other FDA staffers undertook a multi-month, "detailed analysis of deaths voluntarily reported to the [Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System] system (VAERS)."
That effort focused on 96 deaths that occurred between 2021 and 2024, and said "no fewer" than 10 of them were caused by the vaccines. "If anything, this represents conservative coding, where vaccines are exculpated rather than indicted in cases of ambiguity. The real number is higher."
He added, "It is horrifying to consider that the US vaccine regulation, including our actions, may have harmed more children than we saved. This requires humility and introspection." https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/fda-covid-shots-killed-least-10-children-stronger-vax-rules-coming

ReplyDeleteI watched the same program where the children’s commissioner elaborated on her strategy of writing a letter to kids telling them they had a rite to be safe. How weak.
It is time Māori took responsibility about children safety.
It s time Māori invested in their own with some of the millions they have received.
Initiate programs on anger management. This sector in he community wont get out of situation they are in without constructive initiatives by their own people funded by themselves.
In 1884 Māori (Ngati Maniapoto) successfully negotiated into law that the King Country be dry of alcohol and restrictions on Europeans as a strategy to protect the Māori community.
He had the balls to initiate strategy to benefit Māori, where are their leaders today.
Gordon Wallis, nailed it.
