HMNZS MANAWANUI: PRAVDA GETS IT RIGHT

To comment please open your gmail account or use my email address, FB Messenger or X (Twitter).

Historically, which of these two have been more dangerous for NZ navy ships? Japanese torpedo bomber or Yvonne Gray?

One woman has been stood down from command of the HMNZS Canterbury, a second ran the HMNZS Te Kaha into a wharf and unprintably ...... it up. A third woman has now sunk the HMNZS Manawanui. All inside eighteen months.

Ah, but that's what feminism demands. We all must be woke. Women must have "equality" with men, no matter what the cost. That's how out of whack New Zealand is these days. This latest feminine balls-up - which could be sheeted home to the Ardern Government, as they paid five times its book value for the Manawanui - is highly praised by PM Christopher Luxon and self-proclaimed "feminist" Defence Minister Judith Collins.

Yvonne Gray, commander of the Manawanui - the first ship New Zealand has lost in peace time - is English, a lesbian who moved to New Zealand with her "wife" in 2012. The Russian newspaper Pravda reports that prior to her assignment to the Manawanui, Gray had no experience commanding ships and did not even temporarily serve as commander. She received a commanding position due to a shortage of personnel and "quotas" in favor of sexual minorities.https://news-pravda.com/world/2024/10/07/777567.html

NZ's Armed Forces are now said to be almost inoperable because of DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion) and Climate Change policies which in the Navy complicate problems of outdated ships, personnel shortages and inadequate funding. But a 'survey' ship that runs aground while plotting charts for safe passage is so embarrassing, any "inquiry" is more likely to be a cover-up eagerly assisted by NZ's corporate/ legacy media - while the taxpayer foots the insurance bill.

But why should NZ taxpayers pay for their Navy vessel to survey reefs in Samoa? Haven't we got more urgent needs to be addressed at home?

It's ironic that in 2021 the Army conducted an essay competition won by a work severely critical of the forces' DEI policies, claiming such policies impacted negatively on their ability to secure the realm.

The essay was titled “Can the Army Afford to go Woke, Benign Social Progress or National Security Threat?” After the essay received wider publicity, the win was rescinded and the essay hidden from public view.

The New Zealand Defence Force-led inquiry to determine the cause of the HMNZS Manawanui’s sinking may be kept secret from the public.

“The reasons for the demise of the HMNZS Manawanui must be made known” said a spokesman for the Taxpayers’ Union, Sam Warren.

The vessel itself was a $100 million asset to New Zealand and her strategic defence. Determining the cause of its sinking sits entirely within the public’s interest."

“Promises made by the Minister for a ‘short-and-sharp’ inquiry are only as good as the transparency that follows.

“Conjecture is running rampant on what might have caused such a costly loss to New Zealand. She was a 20-year old ship performing presumably a low-risk exercise. Was there a technical problem? Issues of poor procurement? Or was there something else that resulted in such a significant loss to the country?

“The Defence Force must reveal as soon as practicable the cause of this disaster so that the public can have confidence this will not be repeated."https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO2410/S00049/public-demands-transparency-on-the-sinking-of-the-hmnzs-manawanui.htm?_gl=1*1hnkifu*_ga*MTYyNDkwNTE3LjE3MjgzNTMyNjA.*_ga_GGVMM3MB82*MTcyODM1MzI2MC4xLjEuMTcyODM1MzU3MS4xOC4wLjA.

"Moments before midnight" (just letting you know I stayed up) PM Luxon welcomes back "our brave people"

Thank God, they all survived the sinking of HMNZS Manawanui. But how, exactly, were they "brave"?

    1. Well actually it's far from funny. The first duty of any government is to protect its people.

I don't blame women. We, the people have been used against each other to further the genocide and control agenda. But I agree with you.

    1. The Oversight Committee, I don't blame women either. I hope I blame no one for what they do/don't do, but Christ calls us to discern the good and evil in what they do or fail to do.

  7. Thank you, Anonymous, for comparing 'transparency' on the Manawanui with that on the Christchurch mosque issue.

Jacindas legacy wake will sink NZ further going forward. the navy couldn't man the ships, am I allowed to even say that now..under jacindas watch due to the navy and army spending years on the hotel quarantine missions.. many resigned or like my ex navy friend, a...holed out in 2021 for not taking the jabs..

  9. NOT acceptable. Dishonorably discharge ALL involved in the hiring of the 3 people and make THEM pay for the damage they caused, and that INCLUDES the people in parliament who promoted this DISASTER.

  12. I worked on boats similar to this in the 1980s in the North Sea. Actually, very similar, as the boats I were on were all Norwegian built, like this one. They are built to work in the rough conditions of the 100 metre deep N Sea. I was doing seismic and other survey work. I can't imagine how anyone in their right mind would survey a reef with one of these. Did they imagine that they were on a little holiday in the Pacific Islands?

  14. Why were there so many people on board? I understand 75 souls, including 4 overseas military and 5 guests. Furthermore I read that the ship had bunks for 66. Some topping and tailing going on? Why was an inflatable dispatched to the resort and returned just before the accident. Were they out of gin and made a run to the wholesalers?

  15. I don't care what her personal relationships are, no pun intended. What matters is that she was appointed inappropriately and both she, and those who appointed her are responsible for this debacle. Let's not go down the track of feeding into being divisive, it is competence, or rather, lack of, that is the issue.

Lesley Lord the point is that she was very likely appointed inappropriately BECAUSE of her personal relationship. With her "wife".
You rightly care about lack of competence: New Zealand needs to care about the insane DEI mindset which gave rise to it.
