PRIESTS LOSS OF FAITH CAUSED BY FORBIDDEN MASS: THE N O

"If one of the devils in C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters had been entrusted with the ruin of the liturgy, he could not have done it better" - Dietrich von Hildebrand.

"(I)t shall be unlawful henceforth and forever throughout the Christian world to sing or to read Masses according to any formula other than this Missal published by Us…"

In these immortal words, in his famous Bull Quo Primum, Pope St. Pius V forbade changing the traditional Latin Mass.

A reader of this blog asks that we pray for our poor priests. That surely goes without saying, but it certainly bears repeating, ad infinitum but we hope not ad nauseam. She has a confirmation from the Lord, that we should pray that they bring Christ to us, that they are Christ to us.

But our poor priests are labouring under a severe disadvantage, and that disadvantage and handicap - which it follows is a severe disadvantage and handicap to us, the faithful - is the Novus Ordo Missae (New Mass) expressly forbidden by Pope St Pius V.

In Quo Primum Tempore, July 14, 1570, he stated: “Now, therefore, in order that all everywhere may adopt and observe what has been delivered to them by the Holy Roman Church, Mother and Mistress of the other churches, it shall be unlawful henceforth and forever throughout the Christian world to sing or to read Masses according to any formula other than this Missal published by Us…

Accordingly, no one whosoever is permitted to infringe or rashly contravene this notice of Our permission, statute, ordinance, command, direction, grant, indult, declaration, will, decree, and prohibition. Should any venture to do so, let him understand that he will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul.”

A 'clown' Novus Ordo Missae

So Pope 'St' Paul VI ventured to incur the wrath of Almighty God and the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul by promulgating the Novus Ordo Missae, which accordingly is now limping to its grave.

A creature of Vatican II invented largely by a Freemason (Monsignor Annibale Bugnini - read  this biography of Annibale Bugnini), the fruits by which we now know it are a devastating departure from Sunday Mass, from the priesthood, from religious life, from the Church herself. En masse, her children have apostatised, deserted and disavowed their Mother, the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

"Catholic Marriages” in England & Wales, 1913-2010.
They started to dive after 1970 - i.e. after the Latin Mass was outlawed. Says it all really.

Holy Mass - the Sacrifice made by the Son of God of His life on Calvary to redeem humankind - while still essentially remaining that Sacrifice has now been reduced to a ghastly charade, with pitiful people trying to sing protestant ditties while muffled by ridiculous masks like so many ruffians, with the faithful Catholics who refuse a Jab concocted from the remains of slaughtered human infants bounced at the door.

That N O priest's advice was his clear choice of the world rather than Christ - "No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will sustain the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon" (Mt 6:24).  "Mammon": That is, riches, worldly interest." (Douay-Rheims.)

But when you compare the texts of the N O with the Traditional Latin Mass it's easy to see why that unfortunate man has fallen for the world and the flesh, if not for the devil as well. Although when one considers that other, terrifying, text - "But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea (Mt 18:6) the devil seems a dead cert.  This priest and the many other priests and bishops and cardinals like him are dead men walking.

To give just one example, the omission of the "Prayer For Sanctification", said just before Communion in the Old Mass, explains a great deal about the apostasy in the Church manifested by this priest in Confession.

"O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who, according to the will of Thy Father, with the cooperation of the Holy Ghost, hast by Thy death given life to the world; deliver me by this Thy most sacred Body and Blood, from all mine iniquities and from all evils; and make me always cleave to Thy commandments, and suffer me never to be separated from Thee, Who livest and reignest, with the Same God the Father and the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen."

A priest who has never prayed thus can easily stroll away from the altar (more accurately, a table), ignoring Almighty God laid there on the paten and in the chalice alone, while he goes to the sacristy to fetch something or other, or regularly to the tabernacle and back (leaving it open, with the Eucharist exposed). A lay person who's never prayed thus can airily dismiss the canon law prescribing an hour's fast before Communion - a mere hour, compared with three hours previously and before that, fasting from midnight.

The Latin Mass

The grandmother of a reader of this blog - who knew no Mass but the Tridentine, Latin Mass - had to catch a pony, harness it to the trap, muster seven children, trot several miles into town and then play the organ for Holy Mass - after fasting from midnight. Her faith was indefectible.

The old liturgy of the Latin Mass left Catholics in no doubt about the danger of sacrilegious Communions. You may technically be excused from fasting even one miserly hour on grounds of old age - but for someone with faith, old age and the approach of death increases the desire for fasting - from midnight.

"Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Biegas, Suarrez, Bellarmine and Bosius that Rome shall apostatize from the faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ and return to its ancient paganism. … Then the Church shall be scattered, driven into the wilderness, and shall be for a time, as it was in the beginning, invisible hidden in catacombs, in dens, in mountains, in lurking places; for a time it shall be swept, as it were from the face of the earthSuch is the universal testimony of the Fathers of the early Church.” Henry Edward Cardinal Manning, The Present Crisis of the Holy See, 1861, London: Burns and Lambert, pp. 88-90.

Catholic prophecy and the New Testament paint a picture of the last days as a massive spiritual deception aimed to deceive those who intend to practice the true faith (the Catholic Faith), and which leaves the Earth with almost no one maintaining the true faith. So it is not at all impossible or strange that God would allow such a deception to occur. In fact, it was specifically predicted to occur. Did not Our Lord Himself prophesy that the true Faith would be almost extinguished when he comes back the second time to judge the living and the dead? Yes he did. “But yet the Son of man, when he comethshall he find, think you, faith on Earth? (Luke 18:8) http://www.bishopsandfathers.com/novus-ordo-missae/

2 Timothy 3:1-5: “Know also this, THAT IN THE LAST DAYS, shall come dangerous times. Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness, traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasure more than of God: Having an appearance indeed of godliness but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.”

In the pious hope of avoiding all the foregoing, we offer this excerpt on the theological virtue of faith from The Book of Heaven by the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, One with Luisa, the Little Daughter of the Divine Will:

Faith gives life to the soul - without Faith, the soul is dead. Faith vivifies, Faith sanctifies, Faith spiritualizes man, and makes him keep his eyes fixed on a Supreme Being, in such a way that he learns nothing of the things of down here; and if he learns them, he learns them in God.

Oh, the happiness of a soul who iives of Faith! - her flight is always toward Heaven. In everything that happens to her,she always looks at herself in God; and so, just as in tribulation, Faith raises her in God and she does not afflict herself, not even with a lament, knowing that she is not to form her contentment here, but in Heaven; in the same way, if joy, riches and pleasures surround her, Faith raises her in God, and she says to herself: "Oh, how much more content and rich I will be in Heaven!"

So, she feels bothered by these earthly things, she despises them, and tramples them underfoot. It seems to me that to a soul who lives of Faith, it happens as to a person who possessed millions upon millions of coins, and even entire kingdoms, and someone else wanted to offer him a cent. What would he say? Would he not disdain it? Would he not throw it in his face? I add: and what if that cent were all muddy, just as earthly things are? Even more: what if that cent were only lent to him? This person would say: "I enjoy and possess immense riches, and you dared to offer me this miserable cent, so muddy, and only for a short time?"

I believe he would quickly remove his gaze from it, and would not accept this gift. So does the soul who lives of Faith with regard to earthly things.

Now, let us go back again to the idea of food: by taking food, the body is not only sustained, but shares in the substance of the food, which transforms into the body itself. The same for the soul who lives of Faith: since Faith is God Himself, the soul comes to live of God Himself; and by nourishing herself with God, she comes to share in the substance of God; and by sharing in Him, she comes to resemble Him and to be transformed with God Himself.

Therefore it happens to the soul who lives of Faith, that, just as God is holy, the soul is holy; powerful God - powerful the soul, wise, strong and just God - wise, strong and just the soul; and so with all the other attributes of God.

In sum, the soul becomes a little god. Oh, the blessedness of this soul on earth, to then be more blessed in Heaven.

  1. Pray for offending priests in jail. That they repent and find peace.
