THE END MAY REALLY BE NIGH: YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT

Let's face it: New Zealand's bishops and many NZ priests have lost the plot.

When they ban the Mass and Communion on the tongue, when in Election 2020 a parish priest bans information on the evils of euthanasia and a billboard defending the right to life of the most vulnerable unborn children in the world because it's 'too political', they are obviously afflicted with terminal confusion.

They have distorted the Gospel beyond recognition. Jesus Christ wasn't 'political' simply because He didn't need to be. The Jewish regime of His time was godly. The Romans held temporal sway and had to be tolerated, but in comparison with New Zealand's Labour Coalition even Roman governance was ordered and orderly. The Jews lived 'under the yoke' of the most efficient civilisation the world had yet known. So, freed from any necessity to agitate and protest against authority, Jesus was intent not on 'social justice' in the here and now but on building an eternal kingdom for His Father by saving souls.

Today in New Zealand, in buses, trains and cars all over the country - following the example of their bishops and priests - Catholics are masked and muzzled in obedience to "an unjust law which is no law at all". As Manuel of Fawlty Towers would say, "is crazy!"

Our bishops and priests are following the example of the Pope who is preparing yet another encyclical, this time on 'Human Fraternity'- while his 'human fraternity' of the Diocese of Palmerston North still languishes without a bishop. Popes are not expected to pen encyclicals endlessly; their first task is to appoint good bishops.

His latest effort is a sequel to the 2019 Abu Dhabi covenant with global Sunni Muslim leader Ahmad al-Tayyeb, described by renowned Islamic scholar Robert Spencer as "a smoking ruin, as it has resulted in not even the slightest hesitation among Islamic jihadis to persecute Christians".

For instance, Nigeria has become a killing field of defenceless Christians. Between 11,500 and 12,000 Christians have been massacred there by Muslims in the last 5 years. (Have you seen anything about that in the mainstream media?)

The Pope is sanctifying sodomy. He's praised Argentinian Sister Mónica Astorga Cremona, known as the “Nun of the Trans”, for opening 12 apartments for men claiming to be women, and their sexual partners.

“God, who did not go to the seminary or study theology, will repay you abundantly. I pray for you and 'your girls',” he said. https://www.cfnews.org.uk/pope-francis-backs-pro-lgbt-nun-of-the-trans-causing-confusion/

In California's very own Reign of Terror only outdoor Masses are allowed, in what's rightly called persecution of Christians, only with a limit of 12. But unlike New Zealand's bishops Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has risen to the occasion, celebrating multiple concurrent Masses in the cathedral plaza. Everyone must wear a mask. The City Attorney has reprimanded priests and altar servers for not wearing masks and for singing - which he says is "particularly concerning as a method of virus transmission". A vulgar word springs to mind here, for which I'll substitute 'the height of absurdity'.

After 3 months of burning, trashing and stealing and rioting, Black Lives Matter 'protestors' have shot a Trump supporter dead in Portland, Oregon. "Hey we got one here, we got one Trumper right here," they yelled, and shot him dead. The dead man was wearing a hat bearing the insignia of  Patriot Prayer.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky-csN2Ju3Q

In China, Catholics are calling on the international community for "urgent" help as the Communist regime ratchets up its persecution, with priests tortured to force them to register with the state-controlled church, aka the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association. With one priest they succeeded by sleep deprivation, used also to train falcons and known as "exhausting an eagle".

In Melbourne 5 million people (including my son) face another month of curfew, mandatory masks and a 5-kilometre travel limit. Widespread business shutdowns and school closures have brought life to a standstill.

“People really don’t like being told what to do or not to do it seems,” says one local. “As we are in stage 4 we can’t leave the house except for four reasons (shopping, exercise, some work, caregiving), and only for an hour to exercise. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tamarathiessen/2020/08/23/covid-19-australia-sex-mac-melbourne-lockdown-masks/#7bd00c3161b5

In New Zealand,

'Hundreds of millions' of dollars have been set aside by the Government to secure a COVID-19 vaccine for New Zealand when it becomes available - but the specific amount cannot be disclosed due to commercial sensitivity.

The funding is in addition to the $37 million COVID-19 vaccine strategy announced in May.

And in the capital city's Archdiocese of Wellington, Cardinal Dew bans Communion on the tongue and all Sunday and Vigil Masses because with Ardern's limit of 100 they're 'very difficult'.

So everything in the global garden is anything but rosy. I could have written about any of the crises described above; I actually intended to write about the sham and pretence of 'Catholic' education, which in addition to the hierarchy's kowtowing over liturgical matters, can be sheeted home to the Church being morally in hock to an atheistic, socialist government. But then I decided that would be fiddling while Rome burns.

My mind was changed yesterday morning (the post was deleted by demons this morning, and rewritten) by an elderly nun.

Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God

Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God, a convert from Judaism like Edith Stein (St Teresa Benedicta), talked about a truck coming down the road and a person in its way. "You must tell the person to get out of the way. You may be delusional - there may be no truck. But you still have to warn that person. It's time to warn of what may be coming upon us ... The Illumination of Conscience, The Warning. The Great Chastisement".

But wait up - what 'great chastisement? The new president of the German Bishops’ Conference, one Bishop Georg Bätzing, declares the coronavirus pandemic is not God’s punishment, contradicting numerous Catholic leaders who have called COVID-19 a “chastisement.” (Bätzing has also called for changing the Church’s official teaching on “practised homosexuality" and supports married clergy as well as potentially ordaining women.)

Bishop Georg Bätzing

Bishop Bätzing again (this pic is more flattering)

Mother Miriam may never have heard of Bishop Bätzing. We hope not. I wish I hadn't.

Mother Miriam references Our Lady's Church-approved prophecies of Fatima, La Salette, Knock and Akita as being consistent with Fr Michel Rodrigue (countdowntothekingdom.com), mystic Christine Watkins and others not yet approved because they are still in process. She says, "It's drastic, it's reality. We've got to get our lives together. Go to confession" (note she doesn't call it 'Reconciliation'). For those who've confessed, the Warning will be no problem. Others will be given a chance to repent. For others who are really turned from God and will not repent, the shock may kill them." .https://youtu.be/ATqXHuj6XSw

"We bishops and priests need to explain publicly the necessity of Catholics to pray and worship in their churches and chapels, and to go in procession through the streets and ways, asking God’s blessing upon His people who suffer so intensely. We need to insist that the regulations of the State, also for the good of the State, recognize the distinct importance of places of worship, especially in time of national and international crisis. Clearly, the present situation of the world cannot continue without leading to total annihilation"- Cardinal Raymond Burke, Message on the Combat against the Coronavirus, COVID-19.

Thank God, prelates elsewhere on the planet are awake and say the proverbial end times may be near. US Bishop Thomas Tobin ("a good bishop", says Mother Miriam) tweets:

"don't subscribe to dire forecasts of the end times, but with horrible wildfires out West, tropical storms in the ocean, widespread drought, a global pandemic, political division, and anger in the streets, one has to wonder. We'd better return to God. Now. Just in case."

As early as 1946, Archbishop (now Venerable) Fulton Sheen was speaking of an apocalyptic crisis fast approaching the Catholic Church. Sheen predicted the Devil would attempt to counterfeit the Church:

"He will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counter church which will be the ape of the Church because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will be the mystical body of the Antichrist that will, in all externals, resemble the Church as the mystical body of Christ.

Catholics who think this is over-the-top may be surprised to learn that this eschatological topic is covered in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Dutch Cardinal Willem Eijk lamented the then-failure by Pope Francis of forbidding German bishops from distributing Holy Communion to Protestants. He likewise warned of "cardinals who publicly propose to bless homosexual relationships."

Eijk said that the allowance of widespread attacks on the "Deposit of Faith contained in Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture" make him believe the Church is nearing her "ultimate  trial" involving a worldwide loss of faith.

Cardinal Eijk noted this "final trial" leading to mass apostasy is outlined in article 675 of the Catechism. He quotes this section as follows:Before Christ's second coming, the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.
In 2019, US Bishop Joseph Strickland took Church leaders to task for their questionable role in China and the Amazon. The Catechism (675) references "Antichrist" and 2 Thess 2, in which St. Paul identifies the "man of sin," who comes in the wake of a great "revolt" from Catholic teaching and practice. Article 677  speaks of a great persecution accompanying this widespread revolt from the Faith: "The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover when she will follow her Lord in His death and Resurrection."
Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, the then-nuncio, in 2013 quoted Pope John Paul:

"We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. ..We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the Antichrist. The confrontation lies within the plans of divine providence. It ... must be a trial which the Church must take up and face courageously. https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/prelates-warn-of-end-times l

"Clearly, the present situation of the world cannot continue without leading to total annihilation"- Cardinal Raymond Burke.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Astana, Kazakhstan, quotes the Apocalypse: “I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching ... that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.

Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth.”

    1. Seems the NZ church is too busy rushing around telling us not to call priests "Father" to bother with this important fact. Cardinal Burke received no hospitality from the Auckland Diocese when he was here a few years ago. Sad times.

    2. Indeed, Aucklander, Cardinal Burke was here to address an F.L.I. conference. When Bishop Dunn found that was to happen he forbade promotion of the conference in any parish newsletter.
As it turned out, I believe that F.L.I. had a record attendance at the conference.

    3. Unsurprising. I know from a priest-friend that things in Auckland are not rosy. HQ has a spa and a bar. Certain priests with certain leanings get the plumb posts and parishes. All very sad.

  5. Craig Malcolm Richardson says:
(Fr Rodrigue)has been censored on certain matters by his Bishop. So I'm not sure. Fear of the last days doesn't really inspire me. Padre Pio said don't worry. The main focus should be on conversions.

    I say:
Many saints have been censored by bishops. It's not the 'last days' which should inspire fear, but for many, being prompted to think of them may inspire "the fear of the Lord" which "is the beginning of wisdom" - which means, precisely, conversions.
Fr Rodrigue may be dodgy - who knows? The Church doesn't approve revelations which are still in process. But as Bishop Tobin says, "We'd better return to God. Now. Just in case."

(Fr Rodrigue)is a bit of a character...I then read lots of negative comments about him. Left me wondering whether he was genuine..

  8. I recently read "A Church in Change: NZ Catholics Take their Bearings".How sad that the book devoted a chapter to creation spirituality, Matthew Fox and Starhawke the witch. The author of this chapter claims to be a Roman Catholic. The chapter is riddled with heresy as was Matthew Fox a former priest. About time we had more censorship! As you can see I am not politically correct when it comes to theology.
