EVIL ARDERN, TURNCOAT COLLINS, BEAUTIFUL ACB

Comrade Ardern, Turncoat Collins

"For the most part, the women in public life today are evil to their rotten core": Lindsay Perigo.

Today, something completely different: a guest post from broadcaster Lindsay Perigo, who was a bit of a household name in the '80s and into the '90s - a time when I was diverted and distracted, first by theatre and then writing and photographing a column ('The Good Gardener') for North and South magazine.

I'm posting Perigo's piece Back to the Garden! which shot across my bows the day after President Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett for the US Supreme Court. http://www.solopassion.com/node/11165

I relish the Dempanic that has ensued and the shock waves reaching NZ's shores. Vide the sour little item in the Marists' lefty Cathnews https://cathnews.co.nz/2020/09/28/amy-coney-barrett/  and the hag-ridden Radio NZ's posting of 'a ' makeshift memorial in honour of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in front of the US Supreme Court' . Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was indefatigable in her efforts to exterminate the unborn.

Radio NZ's wistful tribute to the late, unlamented RGB

"For the most part, the women in public life today are evil to their rotten core ", Perigo's post begins.

I do get your point, Lindsay. For the most part, they certainly come across as evil.

"So evil they not only give credence to the Adam and eve legend, they make the serpent seem angelic. Angela(!) Merkel, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Occasional Cortex, Teresa May, Illegal Omar, Nancy Antoinette, Jacinda Podesta, Linda Sarsour … these and other female entities are driving humanity towards 1984 where Big Sister is Watching You with a diabolical determination that can evoke only the most supreme disbelief and disgust among humans."

Yes, Big Sister has supplanted Big Brother in a way that would have astonished George Orwell. Nineteen Eightyfour was published in 1949; Orwell wouldn't have known that the next decade would see the invention of The Pill. The contraceptives which women went for wholesale - with Catholic bishops and priests worldwide conniving at the practice condemned by Pope Paul VI - and the terrible aberration of abortion followed on just as night follows day.

It was contraception and abortion which deformed the fabric of Western civilisation, the warp of its weave pulled out of shape by the weft in the 'sexual revolution' of the '60s, as in pursuit power women gradually muscled men out of their immemorial role as head of the family and breadwinner.

We find ourselves now living what Orwell himself described on his deathbed as the "dangerous nightmare situation" of 1984.

"It’s not that most men are any better;" Perigo continues.

He means, of course, in the moral sense, but I'm not sure I agree. It was Eve, remember, who led Adam - not in legend as Perigo would have it but in the word of God - into the original sin which plunged all humankind into the morass of evil where we still flounder today. There's a reason why it was Eve who took the initiative and men won't like to hear it. But I'll get to that in a moment.

... "(R)ather, it’s just that in their incomprehensibly pussy-struck state, they’ll passively, gutlessly go along with anything."

Perhaps the most obvious effect - to me - of the way contraceptives and now abortion have deranged and deformed society is the elevation of sex into a goddess before whom we all pay obeisance. I don't think men are "incomprehensibly pussy-struck". Like homosexuality, that's a culturally-inculcated state of mind (and/or body).

I believe that disencumbered of children, women have usurped the male's role because of an innate superiority, not in intellect but in all the God-given attributes essential to the physical and spiritual care of children in the most important years of their lives.

"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world": trite but true. With contraception most women have swapped their birthright for a mess of pottage.

But notably not Amy Coney Barrett, with her brilliant career in law and seven children, two adopted from Haiti and her youngest with Down syndrome, "the most loved in the family," ACB says laughing.

Amy Coney Barrett who's thrown the Dem fems into a Dempanic

"Today, not in the Garden of Eden but in the Rose Garden, we were reminded of innocence, and decency, and beautiful humanity of both genders. Orange the Magnificent confirmed that Amy Coney Barrett is his nominee for the Supreme Court."

So Lindsay Perigo concludes - and I'm not going to quarrel with a single word of that conclusion.

New Zealand, like the US, approaches an election in which good faces off against evil. The contrast of Trump with 'Creepy Joe' Biden (manipulated by his VP pick Kamala Harris) is more clear-cut than that of Jacinda Jackboot Podesta Ardern with Judith Turncoat Collins; but substitute New Conservatives' Leighton Baker for Collins and the comparison clarifies.

Good v evil, just like America, in what NC Deputy-Leader Elliot Ikilei calls the most important election in New Zealand history.

I notice Perigo doesn't include Collins in his hags' gallery, but I would. Lesser evil perhaps, and leading far superior men and women on the whole, in National, but still with her vote for the Abortion Legislation Bill, proven of evil intent. The sight of these two vying for leadership is enough to make your blood run cold. "Cry, My Beloved Country".

Next month we place our vote in NZ's most significant election ever. So I'll leave it to George Orwell to speak to us, from his deathbed:

"The moral to be drawn from this dangerous nightmare situation is a simple one: Don’t let it happen. It depends on you.”

FRANCIS' SECRET DEAL WITH COMMIES; FATIMA'S SECRET MESSAGE TO SHEPHERDS

To comment please open your gmail account or email me at juliedufresne@xtra.co.nz or use Facebook, Messenger or Twitter. Scroll down for other comments.

Pope Francis has no right, as a Jesuit, to be pope.

The pope who made a secret deal with the Chinese Communist Party

So says Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano as he zeroes in on the ironically-named Society of Jesus, founded by the incomparable St Ignatius Loyola, and the order's accelerated degradation in this century to the extent of being paid 2 million dollars in 4 years by the pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ, pro-Hillary Clinton, pro-Black Lives Matter, pro-narcotics billionaire plutocrat George Soros.

The modern Jesuits, by following their vow of loyalty to the pope I suppose, have become a travesty of the magnificent men who soldiered as missionaries for two hundred years, serving the Vicar of Christ.

+Vigano now considers the Jesuits' reconstitution in 1814 to be a mistake.

Basically the objection to Francis being pope is that he took a vow to obey himself. A Jesuit's fourth vow reads: "I also promise that I will never strive for or ambition any prelacy or dignity outside the Society; and I will to the best of my ability never to consent to my election unless I am forced to do so by obedience to him who can order me under penalty of sin” (he "who can order me under the penalty of sin" now being himself, as pope.)

Of course it's mere coincidence, but keen-eyed readers may have noticed that the adjective 'Carmelite' has vanished today from the masthead of this blog. That's because the Order of Our Lady of Mt Carmel has demanded that I delete it as being in contravention of the order's statutes, and as a fully-professed member of the order, I have obeyed.

But given the Carmelites' 'great sadness' over my views which they say are 'not in communion with Pope Francis and the magisterium of the Church', it remains to be seen how much longer they will tolerate me.

  • "In the process of dissolution and self-demolition to which the entire ecclesial body is subjected, the contribution of the Jesuits has been – and still remains – decisive", writes Archbishop Vigano.
"It is no coincidence that since 2013 even the highest throne has been occupied by a Jesuit, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, even though this is in violation of the Ignatian Rule that forbids members of the Society of Jesus to take up positions in the hierarchy.

"... The ideological closeness of the Society of Jesus to left-wing revolutionary movements dates back to ... 1968, which Vatican II laid the ideological foundations for and which found their greatest expression in the theology of liberation, after having removed the condemnation of communism from the preparatory documents of the Council. It is significant that many of the protagonists of that unfortunate season in Latin America, after the indulgence and moderate sanctions imposed by the Holy See, have been rehabilitated and promoted by an Argentine Jesuit."

+Vigano speaks of

"...the heterogeneous bestiary of progressivism in the name of Malthusian environmentalism, the indiscriminate welcome of immigrants, gender theory, and the religious indifferentism sanctioned by the Abu Dhabi Declaration. The Assisi Conference – Economy of Francesco – and the coming Encyclical Fratelli Tutti confirm the anthropocentric imprint and the green shift of the Bergoglian church, which instead of the courageous and “politically incorrect” proclamation of the Gospel to all the nations has preferred the easiest environmentalist and immigrationist claims of the globalist agenda, which are dramatically risky for our Western civilization.

"And President Trump has understood this all too well.

"(s)o-called Catholic personalities like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Andrew Cuomo ... proudly support abortion and gender indoctrination, and ... the Antifa and Black Lives Matter movements that are setting entire American cities on fire. An equitable and honest analysis of the international sponsors of these parties, these “spontaneous” movements and Catholic progressivism reveals a disturbing common thread running through all of these so-called philanthropists who manipulate the political and economic fortunes of the planet with enormous funding.

"It has been reported ... that the Jesuits in America have received grants of nearly two million dollars (over four years) from George Soros, and it seems that the same agreement between the Holy See and the Chinese Communist regime has been financed by large annual donations from Beijing to the Vatican coffers that are in a disastrous state.

"The fact that the Church fell prostrate before the lockdown, suspending liturgical celebrations and closing churches all over the world, has led to considerable collateral economic damage, for which Chinese donations and the lucrative business of welcoming immigrants represent an obvious compensation.

"(T)he highest levels and centers of cultural influence of the American Catholic Church (are) shamelessly siding in favor of the Democratic candidate.

"The Deep State, Trump’s sworn enemy, is joined by a Deep Church that spares no criticisms and accusations against the incumbent President while winking indecorously with Biden and BLM, slavishly following the narration imposed by the mainstream. It matters little that Trump is openly pro-life and defends the non-negotiable principles that the Democrats have renounced – the important thing is to transform the Catholic Church into the spiritual arm of the New World Order, so as to have an imprimatur from the highest moral authority in the world, something that was impossible with Benedict XVI.

"Secretary of State Pompeo did well to censure the renewal of the secret agreement signed between Bergoglio and Xi Jinping! His lucid denunciation brings to light the aberrant Vatican attitude, the betrayal of the mission of the Church, the abandonment of the Chinese Catholic community out of sinister political calculation and the way it is in accord with aligned thought.

"If Bergoglio can affirm with impunity that “Trump is not Christian”, evoking the ghosts of Nazism and populism, why would the U.S. Secretary of State not have the right to express his opinion ... about the connivance of the Holy See with the communist dictatorship that is more ferocious but also more powerful and influential than ever?

"Why does the Vatican, which is silent in the face of the Democratic party’s support for abortion and the violation of the most basic human rights in China, consider the Trump Administration to have no right to interfere in an agreement that has obvious repercussions in the international political balance?

"(T)he parrhesia in political confrontation that is called for in words is contradicted in fact by those who see their wicked plans brought to light. And it is unclear why an agreement presented as absolutely transparent and devoid of any obscure points has been kept secret and cannot be read even by the well-deserving Chinese Cardinal, Joseph Zen.

"(I)f we consider that among the people who dealt with the drafting of the Agreement between the Holy See and the Chinese Communist Party there was then-Cardinal McCarrick, who was sent by Bergoglio on his behalf (see here), we will also understand the reason that the acts of the canonical process that led to the powerful prelate being reduced to the lay state remain shrouded in secrecy: in both cases an operation of transparency and truth is urgent and necessary, because the honor and moral authority of the Catholic Church in the sight of the whole world is at stake."

+ Carlo Maria Viganò, Archbishop

22 September 2020

In New Zealand we see the same malign influence of socialist ideology, of the 'Deep Church' tending towards "transformation into the spiritual arm of the New World Order"

  • In a parish priest who forbids dissemination of information unfavorable to the Labour Party ("Did your MP vote for Abortion up to birth?").
  • In almost every issue and every story in 'Cathnews', the Kiwi Catholic version of Red Flag.
  • In that rag's campaign against Catholic Tradition (the tradition of Ss Ignatius Loyola and Francis Xavier) specifically against Communion on the tongue, specifically in cathnews.co.nz/2020/09/24/hate-speech/orruption-in-us-hierarchy/ which rants against this symbol of the Mass of the Ages as 'selfish' and 'a very serious embarrassment for priests'.
  • The priest in the ironically-named St Francis Xavier Parish, a Marist domain, who reduced a parishioner to tears (actually to "a train wreck", her friend told me) by refusing her Communion on the tongue after she'd waited till last in line. "Take it up with the Bishop," he told her. St Francis Xavier is a parish which is, the SMs say:

  • Welcoming and sharing.
  • Caring for one another.
  • Encouraging and respecting Maori, Pakeha and all ethnic groups.
  • Providing ongoing formation and prayer opportunities for all groups so that by living our faith, we grow closer to Jesus Christ.
  • Pursuing fairness, equality and peace.
  • Interacting with other denominations.

  • St Francis Xavier Whangarei

The last line of their 'mission statement' is a give-away. The Marists are into false ecumenism. The priest would have been on very safe ground, telling the poor woman to "take it up with the Bishop". Can you imagine Bishop Pat Dunn censoring a priest for upholding political correctness? Can you imagine any NZ bishop censoring any of their priests publicly, for anything? I suppose we should be grateful they're not into censoring priests for preaching the Gospel, as in the US. But maybe that's simply because our bishops don't know of any such priests....
  • There's the priest in Otara who appeared at a public rally in support of Mangere Labour MP William Aupito Sio, who voted for the Abortion Legislation Bill. He needs censoring too. How about it, Bishop Dunn?
  • Cathnews gets even bolder in its support of the left in its story https://cathnews.co.nz/2020/09/24/us-archbishop-san-francisco-pelosi-science-coronavirus/which describes pro-abortion fanatic Nancy 'late-term abortion is sacred ground to me' Pelosi, a Democrat, as 'a practising Catholic'. Well, we may live in hope and prayer that one day her practice will make her perfect. Before she dies. She criticises her brave Archbishop, Salvatore Joseph Cordileone of San Francisco, for promoting the Mass instead of following 'science'. "He should not be putting people’s lives at risk", she said.

The lives at risk here, the lives that should concern the clergy, are our lives in eternity. What would an emaciated 10 year-old suffering agony from purulent pleurisy, little Jacinta Marto of Fatima, have to say to these priests and bishops?

The movie Fatima has been in the cinemas recently. At least it reminds us of the greatest miracle ever to be witnessed publicly, by 70,000 people, in human history, but it also reminds us of the spin, the escapism that is now universally preferred to the unvarnished truth.

  • Jacinta and Francisco and their cousin Lucia never rode in a cart behind a pony. Even when  taken to the train station for her last trip to hospital, the best Jacinta's father could manage was a donkey.
  • Nothing was shown of the hours the children continually spent in prayer, Francisco on his knees with his forehead to the ground until he became too weak and would fall over.
  • The saturated clothing, after torrential rain, of the 70,000 was shown as still wet after the terrifying plunge towards earth of the sun which dried them all completely.
It was obvious in the first few minutes that the movie's makers had fallen for the faux narrative of the false 'Sister Lucia' who supplanted the real one in the early '60s, when post-Vat II the real message of Fatima became an embarrassment to the hierarchy, the false version of the movie being confirmed by a photo of the false Lucia in the credits.

Left, the real Sister Lucia. Right, the fake Sr Lucia as shown in the credits for the movie Fatima

It's enough to read Jacinta's comment, "In church, we must be tranquil and not talk ... Our Lady does not want people to talk in church!" to understand why the Church tried to suppress her cousin Lucia's evidence, revealed and repeated by her up till the time of Vatican II, to realise why the Church then tried to suppress her evidence of the reality of the message of Fatima, of our overwhelming need for prayer and penance.

Now with her brother canonised, Jacinta was obsessed with the terrifying vision of Hell shown them by Our Lady, and consumed with the desire to suffer and sacrifice for sinners. Of World War II, prophesied and shown the children by Our Lady, Jacinta told her cousin Lucia:

"So many people are going to die, and almost all of them are going to hell!"

SEYMOUR WANTS TO SILENCE THE CHURCH, PM WANTS TO SILENCE THE PEOPLE

Just how far can this woman go?

Just as far as New Zealand voters will let her.

Imagine Prime Minister Ardern being snapped like this with a Catholic bishop. Wearing a mantilla, maybe. No? Hardly. Not the thing, really.

How many photo opps in that flattering hijab, and how much mileage Ardern has made out of that tragic event last  March at the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch.

First up were her punitive firearms measures, arbitrarily confiscating the guns needed by farmers and deerstalkers and pighunters - "good keen men" as the late, lamented Barry Crump would say - in pursuit of their livelihood, fun and food for their families. As if taking guns off good keen men would stop alien, alienated Aussies from shooting us up.

That was a hard act to follow, but she's done it again.

Now she's promising a crackdown on hate speech. That is, if she's re-elected by enough votes to govern on her own. I say 'on her own' because who else is there in the Labour caucus, besides Ardern? Nobody you'd notice, except for Andrew Little, and we'd rather not notice him, thank you.

Strange to say, it was her own lockdown restrictions - not 'COVID-19 restrictions' as her tame msm persist in calling them - which postponed the event twice, so that she could seize the moment of unveiling a memorial plaque at the mosque just four weeks out from the election. And Imam Gamal Fouda seized the moment too, and Ardern milked it for all it was worth.

"Freedom of speech becomes hate speech," (the Imam) said at the unveiling. "Hate turns into hate crime as we have seen at the 15th of March."

Now, as a Muslim the Imam knows all about free speech and how it should be done away with. Remember the fatwa against The Satanic Verses?

In 2012, leaders of the member states of the world's largest Islamic organization, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, called for a categorical ban in non-Islamic countries on anything that could be deemed denigration of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. And an Austrian woman's 2011 conviction for "disparagement of religious precepts" has been upheld by the European Court of Human Rights.

She'd held “seminars” presenting her view - a commonly recognised belief -that Muhammad was indeed a child molester. (Dominant Islamic traditions hold that Muhammad’s third wife, Aisha, was 6 at the time of their marriage and 9 at its consummation. Muhammad was in his early 50s.) For stating that  belief, she had to cough up 480 euros or spend 60 days in the slammer.

There's no specific hate speech law in New Zealand.

Not yet, but give this totalitarian government time and opportunity and there will be.

The Human Rights Act covers it, but only on the grounds of colour, race or ethnicity - not religion. Imam Fouda wants to see a new law differentiating between hate speech and free speech.

Labour had promised change this term but failed, but on Thursday renewed its pledge to make it happen.
"We haven't been able to deliver that last term but my intention would be, if we're able to form Government, that we would," Ardern said.

I think the imam meant to say that freedom of speech can become hate speech, and hate can turn into hate crime. As it always has and always will. Horrible as it is, that's human nature. But you can't legislate against feelings. People just have them; it's what they do about their feelings that may require legislation, not the feelings themselves. And as a Muslim who's been in NZ only 16 years, the Imam might not know that "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me".

I'll say this much for Winston Peters: he's challenging Ardern to produce  a law that differentiates between hate speech and free speech. Injustice Minister Andrew Little-by-little has been working on it since March ...

"I'd like to see a new law in New Zealand and I think New Zealand has seen a lot and we went through a lot. The blood of those people shouldn't be forgotten," (the Imam) said.

No, it shouldn't - but banging up Kiwis for speaking freely is not the way to remind us about it.

Labour had promised change this term but failed, but on Thursday renewed its pledge to make it happen. "We haven't been able to deliver that last term but my intention would be, if we're able to form Government, that we would," Ardern said.

"Religion hasn't been included in that, my view is that does need to change.

A clamp down on hate speech definitely wouldn't go ahead under National and ACT. "I believe ultimately in freedom of speech with certain limitations that we've all accepted," said National leader Judith Collins.
"The last thing New Zealand needs is a Government department deciding what you can and can't say," said ACT leader David Seymour.

No, that's the second-to-last thing, Mr Seymour. The last thing NZ needs is a Labour Government. And the very last thing NZ needs is a Labour/Act coalition.

  https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/09/nz-election-2020-labour-wouldn-t-stop-with-just-religion-in-hate-speech-crackdown.html

New Conservative leader Leighton Baker warns that the first freedom society loses is its freedom of speech. “The only real definition of hate speech is inciting someone to commit an act of violence, and we have laws to protect against this now.

“We must be able to discuss ideas in a free and democratic society”, Baker said.

 https://cathnews.co.nz/2020/09/24/hate-speech/

She's unveiling a plaque in memory of 51 dead; it must be her own reflection that makes her smile. Reminds me of someone ... Narcissus.

A previous attack on free speech snuck up on us way back in March - strange to say, coincident with the first lockdowns - when the world’s top technology and internet companies, including Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Twitter, all ganged up to prevent 'the spread of misinformation' about COVID-19.

In his August 20 newsletter, The Verge reporter Casey Newton identifies three proposals to combat COVID-19 misinformation from the left-wing Center for American Progress (CAP).

“Virality circuit breakers” would “detect, label, suspend algorithmic amplification” on posts determined to contain “coronavirus mis/disinformation”; “scan-and-suggest features” would “scan draft posts, detect drafts discussing the coronavirus, and suggest quality information to users or provide them cues” about bad information; and “subject matter context additions” would “embed quality information and relevant fact checks around posts on coronavirus topics.”

Now, who'd trust Facebook and their crony companies to discern just what is 'quality information'? Specially as they cite the widely discredited WHO (World Health Organisation) as 'authoritative'? Who would trust them to limit their electronic eavesdropping to coronavirus data?

Bishop William Callahan

The mania for muzzling is spreading from the civic square to the Catholic Church: in the US last week, hundreds of faithful Catholics came together to pray the Rosary on Sunday for Fr. James Altman, who has been censured by his bishop, +William Callahan of La Crosse Wisconsin (a Democrat stronghold) and threatened with canonical penalties for his viral video “You Cannot Be A Faithful Catholic and a Democrat.” Fr. James Altman has become a social media phenomenon and is now a main stream media story. https://www.complicitclergy.com/publication/complicit-clergy/

Archbishop  Bernard Hebda
(are these two prelates perchance related?)

Just this week another US priest, Fr Robert Altier, was silenced by Archbishop Bernard Hebda of St Paul and Minneapolis (another Dem hangout) for a sermon posted online as "The asasas "The Coronavirus: the Truth Revealed.” "
Fr. Altier had suggested people are being lied to about the pandemic.  He referred to the first reading for the Mass on Sept 5, where God appoints the prophet Ezekiel as "the watchman for the house of Israel." Fr Altier explained that, in the spirit of that scripture, he was speaking as "watchman for the people at St. Raphael (his parish)," and in that spirit, he is commanded by God to speak the truth.
The truth Altier felt called to disseminate pertained to the litany of lies that has been spread about the pandemic. "We have been lied to in a big way," he warned. "I want to tell you the truth because that's what God is going to hold me responsible for." https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/another-priest-silenced

Attaboy, Father Altier! He and Fr Altman are men of prophetic strength, sent by God to preach the Faith and persecuted for it because they are hated by the world.

"If the world hate you, know ye that it hath hated me before you. If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. ... If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you" (Jn 15:18,19, 20b).

It's not just on the national or international levels that our freedom of speech is threatened.

  • In my little Catholic country parish I was first forbidden to distribute Family First information on the referenda in the church foyer ("too political", said the PP)
  • I was then forbidden to distribute it on the footpath outside (someone had got 'upset')
  • In my annual 'begging letter' to raise funds for a charity all references to the Blessed Virgin Maryhad to be deleted because the Protestant committee objected
  • The Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to which I belong as a fully-professed Lay Carmelite has threatened me, for the second time, with dismissal from the Order unless I delete the adjective 'Carmelite' from the masthead of this blog. They have some grounds for grievance - I hadn't properly read the Statutes which state Carmelites are not permitted to identify themselves publicly with the order.

Because I "do not have the permission from the Provincial Delegate of the Lay Carmelite Council" I cannot publicly write using the Carmelite name or identify myself as a member of the Carmelite Order. "By calling your blog "Carmelite Canto Fermo" the inference (sic) is that your writings have the authority of the Carmelite Order, which your writings do not. They state that my views "are not in communion with Pope Francis and the magisterium".

Surely it's not possible to hold views that are “in communion with Pope Francis and the magisterium”. That seems to me to be an oxymoron.  I do not oppose Pope Francis; I oppose his statements and opinions which are not in accord with the magisterium of the Church.

But as apparently my views are causing "great sadness to the wider Carmelite Order and community in the world", and having belated regard to the Statutes I apologise for misappropriating the adjective 'Carmelite' and will delete it from the masthead of this blog for as long as I remain a member of the Order.

These are ominous straws in a stifling wind we New Zealanders ourselves have sown, with our "impiety and idolatry" as the Douay Rheims Bible puts it, in the context of the Israelites in the book of Osee (Hosea), and which with Election 2020 may become the whirlwind we reap.

"There is no standing stalk in it, the bud shall yield no meal; and if it should yield, strangers shall eat it. Israel is swallowed up: now is he become among the nations like an unclean vessel."

(Osee (Hosea) 8: 7,8)

SEYMOUR CITES 9TH COMMANDMENT: WOT ABOUT THE 6TH?

To comment please open your gmail account or if that doesn't work (I've had complaints! email me at juliedufresne@xtra.co.nz, or use Facebook Messenger or Twitter. Scroll down for other comments.

David Seymour really takes the cake.  Not only does he bawl the Catholic Bishops out for upholding the Fifth Commandment, he bawls them out for breaking the Ninth.

David Seymour - a twerp twerking

We should be grateful that he doesn't bawl the bishops out for mentioning the name of God in their Election Statement 2020 just twice.

The Fifth Commandment says: "Thou shalt not kill", which is of course why the bishops had to rule out voting yes to David Seymour's wretched euthanasia referendum.

(We wonder why the bishops don't apply the same stricture to abortion, by ruling out Catholics voting for any MP who supported the Abortion Legislation Act. In the absence of any stated reason we must assume the reason is spondulicks - the millions in hand-outs the Church takes from this atheist, socialist state. BTW David Seymour, of course, was one of the large majority of MPs who broke the Fifth Commandment by voting for Ardern's Act.)

And the Ninth Commandment states "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour". In other words, don't tell lies about other people. Arbiter of public morals Seymour pronounces thus:

“The Bishops state that the End of Life Choice Act ‘reflect[s] negative attitudes towards the elderly and disabled that run deep in society.’ They must know that the Act explicitly forbids anyone being eligible to choose Assisted dying because of old age or disability.

They need to understand the End of Life Choice Act is about choice. It is about dignity and respect."

https://www.act.org.nz/seymour_calls_on_bishops_to_respect_ninth_commandment

This is pure prevarication. Is Seymour claiming it's a lie to say negative attitudes towards the elderly and disabled run deep in society? Really? I guess you have to be on what society so positively refers to as "the right side of 50" to think that, and the way Seymour talks, he sounds like he's on 'the right side' of 20.

Seymour thinks he needs only mention the sacred cow of 'choice' to have thousands of fans flock to his Act banner and give him status as a coalition partner in the next government. We can kill other people all we want - by outright murder as in abortion, or implicitly by the power of suggestion that the elderly are "better off dead", as the bishops rightly say, simply because that's our 'choice'.

Mr Seymour, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Just in case you, dear reader, might be impressed by his show of respect for the Commandments, let me disabuse you of any such notion by quoting Seymour himself, as saying that his career in politics has put paid to "a series" of his relationships and he is currently single. "There are two-and-a-half million women in this country and none of them are (sic) that desperate," he adds.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/08/acts-david-seymour-i-dont-really-care-what-people-think-and-im-still-quite-successful

'A series of relationships' means breaking the Sixth Commandment, Mr Seymour.  It's fornication. Fornicators will not inherit the Kingdom of God. That is to say, fornication is a mortal sin and those who do not repent of it will go to Hell.

And be warned, people: David Seymour would like to "build a consensus" so the ACT could, in future, support either side in government.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/08/acts-david-seymour-i-dont-really-care-what-people-think-and-im-still-quite-successful

It's the stuff of nightmares. So Seymour is a potential turncoat, just like Winston Peters who singlehandedly brought this disastrous Labour Coalition Government on a nation who voted for National.

As for Seymour's religion, he says he has "respect for the Anglicans". Which explains why he hasn't mouthed off against Archbishop Philip Richardson, Primate, Senior Bishop of the NZ Pakeha Diocese, who authorised a statement against euthanasia along with 37 of New Zealand’s most prominent religious leaders which  included the Catholic bishops.https://cathnews.co.nz/2020/09/21/act-bishops-end-of-life-ninth-commndment/

But why should Seymour have respect for the Catholics, when our bishops refer to God just once or twice, perfunctorily, in their statement - and to 'God of Nations' in their appended prayer (without so much as a 'please' or 'thank you'). At least Archbishop Philip quotes from the bible, and "calls on Christians to stand firm in our understanding of human life as having a greater value than the sum of what we can or cannot do.

“As Christians, we say that our individual human life and human worth does not depend on ability, or gifts, or capacity, or even on the quality of our life, but rather on our status as being made in God’s image and likeness."

In their statement the Catholic bishops run a close second to the NZ media as propagandists for the Ardern Mis-Government. They talk about New Zealanders being 'a team of five million'. Make that 4999999, please, bishops. You could subtract quite a lot more. Two and three-quarter million would suit me.

The bishops sound more like public servants - and of the 'Yes, Minister' variety of public servants at that - than God's servants and our servants. Their Election Statement 2020 reduces Catholicism to mere moralism.

As John Dryden wrote in Religio Laici (1682) (emphasis added):

All faiths beside, or did by arms ascend,

Or sense indulged has made mankind their friend:

This only doctrine does our lusts oppose:

Unfed by nature's soil, in which it grows;

Cross to our interests, curbing sense and sin;

Oppressed without, and undermined within

It thrives through pain; its own tormentors tires;

And with a stubborn patience still aspires.

To what can reason such effects assign,

Transcending nature, but to Laws Divine?

Election 2020 fast approaches; those praying the Family Life International Novena for "wise leaders who uphold the life and dignity of all human beings" are now into the 27 days of thanksgiving to our Blessed Mother in anticipation of her granting our request.

Michelle Kaufman of FLI rightly observes that to obtain this favour, "much prayer and fasting are needed".

Fasting? It's not Lent! Or even Advent! But today is the first of three Ember Days of fasting and abstinence (Wednesday Friday and Saturday) which occur four times in the Church year marking the cycle of the seasons, this week's following the Exaltation of the Cross and heralding the equinox.

Fasting and partial abstinence during the Ember days were ... enjoined on the faithful from time immemorial until the 1960s. It is the association of fasting and penance with the Embertides that led some to think that their peculiar name has something to do with smoldering ash, or embers. But the English name is probably derived from their Latin title, the Quatuor Tempora or “Four Seasons.

https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2018/09/time-for-worldwide-sacrifice-ember-week.html

Beset by evil as New Zealand is now, and threatened by the forthcoming election with even more of the same, prayer without fasting just isn't going to cut it. In today's Gospel, in which Jesus casts out the devil, he tells his disciples, "This kind (of impure spirit) can go out by nothing, but prayer and fasting (Mk 9:28).

And in Luke's Gospel (13: 3,5) Our Lord tells us, and even repeats Himself:

Unless you shall do penance, you shall all likewise perish.

CHAMPION OF FREE SPEECH SEYMOUR WANTS TO SHUT THE BISHOPS UP

The cheek of it! The cheek of old Nick, without a doubt.

Any David Seymour is too much David Seymour. Already.

Five days ago, Act's one-pony circus performer David Seymour was once again posturing as NZ's champion of free speech at Massey University Palmerston North.

But - how come? - one day ago he was climbing into the NZ Conference of Bishops for advising Catholics against voting for euthanasia - for Seymour's tragically deformed baby, his End of Life Choice referendum.

Seymour says the religious leaders need to understand the End of Life Choice Act is about choice, dignity and respect. Hah!
They may have a philosophical view that life belongs to God," Seymour says sententiously, "and they have a right to their belief. They don't have the right to force it on others," he said in a statement.

I beg your pardon, Mr Seymour?

The bishops were stating a fact of their Catholic Faith, reminding Catholics of a belief they hold in common with those people - a belief so deeply and fundamentally held by Catholics that they shouldn't need reminding. (But if some Mass-going 'Catholics' believe they can vote for Labour, they very much need reminding they can't vote for euthanasia.)

Teaching the truths of the Catholic Faith is the bishops' business, and for once they were minding it. It is not your business, Mr Seymour. Except that you are desperate, as a career politician, for any publicity to keep your seat in Parliament and the handsome salary that goes with it, because apart from policy wonking, what else can you do?

And five days ago you, Mr Seymour, were telling university students that free speech was a major issue in New Zealand and that you've written a lovely bill that would cut government funding to universities that did not take appropriate steps to protect and foster freedom of speech. You suggest a financial penalty for being anti  is probably the only thing that can incentivise them to be pro .

speech.https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/300108299/act-leader-david-seymour-talks-freely-about-the-dangers-of-silence

You can't have it both ways, Mr Seymour. If university students have a right to free speech, so do bishops. So does anyone.

In going for the NZ Catholic Bishops you expose yourself as a hypocrite. Of course the bishops, reckoned now as next-to-nothing by the body politic, are a soft target which you choose according to Act's much-vaunted 'principles', which are anything but.

Apparently you believe in free speech only if it agrees with your speech. Double-speech, spoken with a forked tongue. The obvious financial penalty is  confiscation of your parliamentary salary.

Voters, make it happen!

Come, Holy Spirit, come by the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Thy most beloved Bride, and renew the face of the earth.

ELECTION STATEMENT 2020: NZ BISHOPS BETRAY THEIR BRIDE THE CHURCH

It says it all, doesn't it? Prime Minister Jacinda Jackboot Babykiller Ardern, smiling at her own image on her own camera amid a crowd of 'useful idiots', of the academic variety.

If this pic doesn't give you the chills, it should. Stuff captured the moment for posterity yesterday, at Massey University, Palmerston North.

Academics are one of the two elites who constitute Labour's power base in a country run by a socialist Government and a nearly-socialist Opposition. The other elite is Māori, as borne out by Labour's pick of candidates for Parliament in Palmerston and next-door Rangitikei. I say 'elite' because, quite wrongly, Māori are accorded privilege over other ethnicities in New Zealand because of the colour of their skin and perceived historical injustice.

"Do as I say, not as I do" was the focus of aggrieved comments on this pic of Ardern and associated adorers published by Stuff. Not a single remark on its comments page - until I joined the fray - about Ardern's utterly evil Abortion Legislation Act

So don't they know about it? Do those adoring academics crowding in on Ardern not know that she ordained that babies be killed up to and including birth, with no pain relief, and left to die with no medical care if they survive a botched abortion? Pull the other one.

And if they are still in the dark, they will most emphatically not be enlightened by the NZ Catholic Bishops' long-awaited 2020 Election Statement.

"Voting does not start at the polling booth", say the bishops. Oh, great! They're telling us that voting in 2020 started on the Vigil of the Annunciation, when the Labour Coalition Government ushered in that truly wicked law.

But no: the NZ Catholic Bishops are telling us that  “Our participation in elections is about listening to the cries of the Earth and the cries of the poor, studying carefully the proposals of political parties, praying about them, and voting with our conscience."

We are indebted to CathNews for passing on this regurgitation of the Pope's Laudato Si.

"The bishops’ statement expressly says it is not the bishops’ role to tell people who to vote for."

Tell that to the Marines. Tell that to bishops like +Carlo Maria Vigano former Papal Nuncio to the US, who predicts that President will win re-election "by God's right hand",

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBZr8-RAGAg

or Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas or Father James Altman, Wisconsin. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/watch-priest-warns-us-voters-you-cannot-be-catholic-and-be-a-democrat.

"It is published in Māori and English throughout."

The bishops think of everything. They think of all those Catholics - Filipinos, Koreans, Indians for example - who can't read English but can read Māori. They'll be ever so grateful.

"What kind of a nation do we want?"

“We hope and work for a nation that looks to ensure the sanctity and wellbeing of whānau;

'We': is this the royal 'we', or the ecclesiastical version? How can 'a nation' ensure our sanctity? Is our sanctification not the work of the Holy Spirit? Aided and abetted and informed by our pastors? It seems not. Not any longer. Now we look to the 'nation' to guide us to God. Good God. Good night.

"... that supports all families to access the basic human needs of food, clothing, housing, education and healthcare,” the bishops say.

Everyone already possesses those 'basic human needs of food, clothing' etc etc. Those basic needs are held in common, by all. What many lack is the meeting of those needs.

“Rather than thinking about what will benefit each of us personally regarding the election and referendum choices we face, we ask you to pray and discern what will protect the poor and vulnerable and what will uphold the dignity of creation so that we create a connected future for all, without discarding any of us.”

Almighty God surely expects His bishops to lead 'us' in upholding the dignity of souls as their first duty. The bishops seem enamoured with a notion of equality - in a mistaken idea of humility wanting to be considered to be on the same plane as their people.

How do Catholic sheep get on, I wonder, when their shepherds treat them as equals? What would have happened to the proverbial, but literally, lost sheep that yesterday caused my farmer son such concern, if he hadn't anxiously kept watch from his kitchen window, listening for her "call", as he put it, saying she was distressed and frightened to find herself in the alien environment of an asphalt road, all alone?

My son did not expect that sheep to know its way back to its paddock safely on its own. But our bishops apparently expect their flock - overworked and underpaid as most are - to do all the research needed to vote for good government, which means voting according to God's will.

And really, pray tell, what on earth is 'a connected future for us all'? God knows. I don't - except that the term is woke speech for globalism and a World Church. Maybe the bishops envisage us all being 'connected' in the 'future' by mass, mandatory vaccinations. In this they might be following the lead of their peer, Bishop Brian McGee of the Diocese of Argyll and the Isles:

Bishop Brian McGee, who'd fit in nicely here

A Catholic bishop chairing the COVID-19 Pastoral Ministry Working Group in Scotland has sparked alarm among Catholics after revealing that restoring normal parish life is contingent on finding a vaccine for the Wuhan virus.

"We recognize that parish life cannot quickly return to normal until a vaccine or a treatment is available," Bp. Brian McGee of the diocese of Argyll and the Isles announced at the end of May. https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/scottish-bishop-no-vaccine-no-mass

On the other hand - you have been warned:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nephew of President John F. Kennedy and chairman of the Children's Health Defense, is on record on the CHD website saying: "Vaccines, for Bill Gates, are a strategic philanthropy that feeds his many vaccine-related businesses (including Microsoft's ambition to control a global vaccination-ID enterprise) and give him dictatorial control of global health policy."

In 2000, Gates was allowed into India to direct the nation's immunization effort against polio. Under his leadership, up to 50 doses of polio vaccines were administered to enormous numbers of Indian children before age five and hundreds of thousands of those children became paralyzed over the next roughly 20 years.

While he was advancing his polio effort in India, he started up another vaccine program testing experimental HPV vaccines, designed to protect against sexual infection. In one year alone, 2009, 23,000 young girls were inoculated. According to Kennedy, 1,200 suffered severe side effects, with seven young girls actually dying.

As if India wasn't enough, Gates took his vaccine tour to Africa where 50 of the 500 vaccinated children developed paralysis. The Left is always yammering on about colonialism, but apparently it's okay for leftist white men to use a nation to advance their social engineering, especially a black nation.

There's a love triangle between Dr. Anthony Fauci, the WHO, and Bill Gates — an interrelationship that many are becoming extremely bothered by, particularly in light of leftist governors talking about "mandatory" vaccines and penalties for refusing.

Lots of ideas are being dropped into the media about travel cards, certificates to prove you've been vaccinated before going into stores and so forth.

Perhaps the wisest advice on all this is from that same Italian minister of Parliament who said a resistance must form against the lockdown measures and a refusal to submit to any mandatory vaccine program that might be presented by Gates and his allies in the medical-industrial complex.

Back to what purports to be the NZ Bishops' 2020 Election Statement. Even the US Bishops can spell it out more clearly:

“The threat of abortion remains our preeminent priority because it directly attacks life itself, because it takes place within the sanctuary of the family, and because of the number of lives destroyed,” the bishops wrote.
“In our nation, ‘abortion and euthanasia have become preeminent threats to human dignity because they directly attack life itself, the most fundamental human good and the condition for all others.’”

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/us-bishop-says-environment-should-be-preeminent-issue-for-voters-not-abortion?utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com&utm_campaign=b0b0f74d5e-Catholic_9_17_20&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_12387f0e3e-b0b0f74d5e-405142193

New Zealand's bishops do manage to state their opposition to euthanasia. Thank God for that much. But on the recreational use of cannabis referendum they merely hint:

"They are keenly aware that rangatahi are the group most vulnerable to the adverse effects of cannabis."

We must assume, from the context, that 'rangatahi' are teenagers.

“We think people do need to give serious thoughts to the issue, and we hope you will use your vote in a way that considers the impact of legalised recreational cannabis on the young and vulnerable in our communities.

Pity about the 'young and vulnerable' who are not 'in our communities'. We wonder where the bishops think they are.

Last night in Waipukurau,New Conservatives firearms spokesman Victoria O'Brien - who's got what it takes and then some - declared confidently that "the churches are with us" - and her Christian audience all seemed to agree. But except for moi it was a Protestant audience. O'Brien was talking about Protestant churches. In this scenario the Catholic Church is nowhere to be seen.

There were no Māori at the Waipukurau meeting either. I offered to ask the local marae if New Conservatives could put up a billboard there alongside Labour, NZ First, Act and Advance NZ (the National Party are keeping a discreet distance, further along SH2). O'Brien was keen, but I was told, "They'll say you're racist". Sticks and stones ...

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern backs Tangi Utikere to win Palmerston North seat, ran Stuff's Thursday headline. "Backs who?" you might well ask. Apart from naming him, Stuff doesn't say. You'll remember that the previous Labour incumbent, Minister for Immigration Iain Lees-Galloway, retired under a cloud - "an inappropriate relationship with a former staffer" - and we have Ardern's assurance of confidence in Utikere "because of ... what he’s been doing in the region”, but what Tangi's been doing exactly, Stuff doesn't tell us.

But hey, does it matter what he's been doing?

Utikere said he was focused on sharing with the community what he and the party offered.

So what does he offer?

“I am offering a fresh, strong and effective local voice in Parliament, and also in Government. Our party is focused on a plan for delivery.”

I guess if you're new to the job, you're 'fresh', and that to be PN's MP you have to be 'local'. And it's nice he has a good self-image and thinks he's 'strong and effective'. Let's just pray that time won't tell. Because:

Ardern’s visit coincided with the Government announcing timing for its $5 billion of spending on lower North Island infrastructure, with shovel-ready  projects to be rolled out in the next 18 months. Projects include the Marton rail centre, enabling infrastructure for Levin’s new Tairaka subdivision, Horowhenua business park infrastructure, improvements to Route 52 in Tararua and a climate resilience package with regional councils.

The infrastructure funding will support the Manawatū Gorge replacement highway, which is due to start in November, Capital Connection upgrades, and health and education investments.

Adrian Rurawhe and Soraya Peke-Mason, who are running for nearby Te Tai Hauāuru and Rangitīkei, respectively, echoed Utikere’s thoughts.

Rurawhe is the sitting MP in Te Tai Hauāuru (a Māori seat) and he said he was focused on winning the seat again and increasing the party vote. Peke-Mason has the harder job of challenging incumbent Ian McKelvie in a National stronghold, but she said she had been receiving positive response throughout the electorate.

So according to Stuff what all three Māori candidates in PN and roundabout are 'focused on' is 'a plan for delivery' of temporary jobs and $5 billion more of debt for our children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren to pay.

Meanwhile, in Sweden where common sense prevailed and lockdown was avoided:

Chief epidemiologist puts low number of cases down to light-touch ‘sustainable’ approach
While many European countries are seeing new cases surge to levels not seen since the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sweden – whose light-touch approach has made it an international outlier – has one of the continent’s lowest infection rates. “We don’t have the resurgence of the disease that many countries have,” Anders Tegnell, the country’s chief epidemiologist and architect of its no-lockdown strategy, told broadcaster France-24 in an interview, adding that the country was broadly happy with its overall strategy.

“In the end, we will see how much difference it will make to have a strategy that’s more sustainable, that you can keep in place for a long time, instead of the strategy that means that you lock down, open up and lock down over and over again.”

Unlike many countries, Sweden closed schools for the over-16s but kept those for younger pupils open, insisting on full attendance. Schools and universities are now open again.

It also banned gatherings of more than 50 people and told people over 70 and in at-risk groups to self-isolate.

Otherwise, the population of 10 million was asked, rather than ordered, to respect physical distancing and work from home if possible, which it largely did. Shops, bars, restaurants and gyms stayed open and the wearing of masks has not so far been recommended.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/sep/15/sweden-records-its-fewest-daily-covid-19-cases-since-march?fbclid=IwAR1u4jXphEIdlpsXzm6e3eQZzYLMU23JGB2JxjxN-tzqQLRueuAmds1V2uQ

What's also revealing about that pic of Ardern and fans is not the crowding or no masks, but that Ardern's own, ridiculous 'social distancing', so fervently extolled by her, by her sidekick Dr Bloomfield and her propaganda machine the msm, was completely ignored. Ardern et al are latter-day pharisees: for they say, and do not (Mt 23:3).

But wait. Has Ardern turned a new leaf? Did she hear the well-known US priest Father Robert Altier give a homily posted on September 7 on the YouTube page of Complicit Clergy on September 7? Fr Altier denounced COVID-19 restrictions as “not human” and urged Americans to reject the so-called “new normal” of required masks and social distancing that deepen isolation and fear as “evil” and a diabolical deception.

 utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com&utm_campaign=b0b0f74d5e-Catholic_9_17_20&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_12387f0e3e-b0b0f74d5e-405142193

Being human and normal as God created us to be means that "by the mystery of this water and wine we may be made partakers of His Divinity Who vouchsafed to partaker of our humanity, Jesus Christ".

We pray for New Zealand and our priests and bishops, that Election 2020 will result in a nation more conformed to God's will for humanity.
